Hi all is there anyway of inserting a page break in text edit. if so how do i do this. If not I can switch to pages but i’m having a problem with that. I opened my txt document in pages but every time i try to insert a page break the option is dimmed. also is there any way of doing a word count in ether text edit or pages. Hello all, i’ve been trying to make the preference change to allow apps from anywhere however when I click the lock to make the changes and do my password it comes up with all the buttons dimmed still and won’t let me make the change. Playing audible content on my iPhone.
Hello all, don’t know weather anyone can help with this. I have just tried playing some audible content on my iPhone and when I open the book after it has finished downloading it says this device has not been activated for this file please sign in to your audible account. However I am actually signed in to audible on my iPhone as i can see the library so don’t get why it’s saying that. Is there something i’ve got to do on the audible.co.uk web sight itself to rectify this. Have to say in apple’s wisdom that is an odd command as all of them keys are on the left side of the keyboard, holding control command and shift down together then pressing the t was difficult but I sort of found the t with my write hand and did the rest with my left. help with windows problem on my mac.
Hello all, I have been running bootcamp on my mac now successfully for quite a while. I am very impressed with the way it runs and like it a lot. However i’ve encounter a problem I wonder if anyone can help with. Every time i’ve switched between my wireless headset back to my speakers it’s worked fine. However on tuesday when I went to play a game on line with a couple of friends I tried switching back to speakers and no sound came out of them. I know the speakers are working because i’m using them on my Mac so it can’t be a problem with the speakers themselves. I am wondering if anyone can give any suggestions on what could be the matter and how to fix this. I’ve done nothing differently from all the other times i’ve tried switching. I’ve gone to control panel in to sound and selected speakers from my playback device i’ve then clicked default to set it back and no sound is coming from the speakers. I know it’s the write speaker setting as i’ve used the same one for a long time now and I know what type of speakers are built in to my mac. Any suggestions would be grately appreciated. problems with iBooks on the mac.
Hi all, don’t know if anyone can help with this. I seem to be having a problem with ibooks on the mac. When I read some of my books it will start reading then keep saying text text text. Then after scrolling threw it’ll then start reading other bits of the book having failed to read the bits before it. Hi all are attachments viewed the same in maverick as previous male versions. The reason I ask is because i’ve just received an attachment but am not seeing the imbedded and the document name. When I go to the save attachments menu and try saving it it’s not saving in the folder i ask it to go to. error i am getting.
Hi since upgrading to maverick I am getting a problem. When I try to open a file that i’ve downloaded with COG the media player of my choice I keep getting an error. It keeps saying that the file can’t be opened because it’s not from an identified developer. I never had this problem before and could just open any file that was mp3 I downloaded with the cog player. Wonder if anyone can help. Thanks very much in advance. Hi I am a maverick user and I would agree. If you are a gmail user i’d advise that you think very carefully before upgrading as the way gmail is handled is a lot different. I personally don’t like it because now you have to have your all male folder showing and it took me days to get everything from the server again and clear it. The Ibooks is nice though on the mac but i’ve not worked out how to get back to the beginning of a book yet, also there are some accessibility issues with Ibooks that apple are currently working on. For example the buttons are not properly labeled yet. Hi does anyone know of any service that works like gmail and Yahoo that I could access from anywhere. The reason I ask is because since upgrading to mavericks i’m not happy with gmail under it. I did read the article before upgrading that was sent but as there were a few features people told me about I thought it worth trying the upgrade anyway. I have the five s and compared to the 4s it's quicker for sure. I find the 5s loads things up instantly and is a lot faster than the 4s I have not really played with a 5c so can't comment. I'd go for the faster processor though and go for the 5s. Hi all, my downloads window in safari seems to have disappeared. When I tab around to find it it does not seem to be there. It was working ok earlier this morning. Hi, just set something downloading and did command option l, it says show downloads but for some reason it's not letting me in to the downloads window itself. It is taking me in to the toolbar and I click on the show downloads option in there but it's not coming up. Hi all, thanks have now got this update. suddenly a problem has started happening that has not happened before. when I record something then play it back to test it nothing is coming out. It is as if the application is recording a sound file but nothing seems to be being detected with the microphone. I have not changed any settings and as far as I know nothing in the prefforances that could have made this happen. Wondering if anyone can help. I have tried re installing the application and am now going to try a restart too see if that has any affect. Hi all just upgraded to the new version of amadius pro and am having a problem. every time I try and save a file as an mp3 it just keeps coming back saying that the file can't be saved as an mp3. Hi all, don't know if anyone can help. I am importing some cd's but I want to make it in to one file. so rather than each disk having separate tracks I just want it as one big MP3 file for each disk. Re: stopping mail in mountain lion from always organizing into conversations
I had to do the related messages bit first before it would let me uncheck the conversations box. I have got it working now, There is an advantage to the conversation way of sorting which is if there are a huge bunch of messages with the same thread and it's a thread your not interested in you can just delete that whole bunch of messages at once making it easier to clear your male box. However the disadvantage is for example if you get an email say with a link in it and it comes up as a conversation if you forget to press the write arrow key to expand the conversation it's easy to miss the message you need. I am just outlining the pros and cons to both ways just incase people did not think of it this way. I personally like each message to come sepertly in to my inbox rather than conversations which I have now set. Will see how I get on now with this way of organising as i've got so use to the conversation way so it'll be odd having my messages coming sepertly. It will give me a chance to see which way I really prefer it. thanks for the help changing it as i've wanted to do it for ages. Hi all using the cog media player to play things. however i am wondering if I have accedently done something to it. When I am playing something in cog and use command shift and n for a new folder it starts playing or stoping my media that is playing in the player. This has not happened before until today so wondering if there is something that I have done without meaning to to make it happen. Note this is happening when I want to create a new folder on a drive or something like that. Hi, I agree the mac is great. Had mine since september last year and don't regret a penny of it. It is a great OS and apple although they are quite controlling in there ways in some aspects really do care about there customers and there needs. I had a problem with two IPhone fours and they swopt them no questions asked. I also try apps on mac which i would not always do on windows. I am happy to have a mac and agree with everything you have both said. Playing Youtube.
Hi all been trying to play Youtube videos on my mac. I use to be able to do it fine but now it won't let me stream over the internet on things like youtube. I know it is not the ruter settings as my dads windows laptop can play youtube videos fine. Hi, I use one finger of one hand. I hold the phone in portrait in my left hand with the screen sort of flat then I use the index finger of my write hand to type. I have become pretty quick and a lot of the time I do get the write word or at least very close. This app has really opened the door to typing on touch screen devices. I just wish apple would allow this app to somehow be integrated in to the OS providing the person has bought the app first. I would not like the developers of Fleksy to loose money as they've done a great job developing this. I would say this is one of the best apps that has come on the iPhone market for blind people. these are the instructions I sent to gordon privately for anyone else who may be struggling or need help with fleksy. Hi Gordon this is how you use fleksy. 1. open the app and it will say loading. 2. when it is loaded and says triple tap home to start typing then you just triple tap the home button witch will turn voice over off. 3. to type what you wish to type just tap with one finger on the screen where you think each letter of the word you want to type is, you don't have to be accurate. 4. swipe to the write and it will tell you what word it thinks you typed, if it is the wrong word just keep swiping down till it finds the write word that you meant to type. If it does not find the word you meant then just do a swipe to the left to delete the last word it told you. Then try again on a different part of the screen maybe a bit to the left or write of where you first typed. 5. to put a full stop in swipe to the write again after you've typed the word and it will put the full stop in, swipe down if you want a question mark comma or exclamation mark. There are more advanced simbles you can put in but not played with it yet. Fleksy has become really useful to me over the last few weeks. When you have finished typing what you wish to type then turn voice over back on and if you swipe to the write a menu will come up with what you can do with the text. It will then take you in to the section that allows you to do the action. I do not know weather you use Audio boo but if you do do a search for ianmcnamara and I have done a boo explaining how to use fleksy. Hope this helps. Hi Fleksy is very good in my opinion, you do not need to be completely accurate with your typing in fleksy if you get close enough it will guess what you mean. When you've put your word in and swiped to the write and it tells you what you typed if it is the wrong word just keep swiping down and it will generally find the write one, It's worked nearly every time for me. THanks, sorted it now. My brother popped round to do something and did it for me as he's sighted and was able to find the write setting. He told me how to get it in the future though. I just delete the messages in the main window. You do this by double tap and holding till it makes the sound as if you want to move the app. then while you have your finger down do a quick swipe left to write or the other way around and it will ask you to confirm that you want to delete the message and you just double tap it again and it is gone. Hi Lynn, a mud client is a programe that allows you to connect to muds, a mud is an online text adventure game where you type commands to make your character do what you want them to. You play with people over the net, some have up to 100 players or more playing at any one time. They are some of the best games for blind people because they are text based so there is no advantage weather blind or sighted players are playing, also it means blind and sighted players can play together on an even keel. Some are massive and some are small but they all have there own worlds and settings.
