once bootcamp is installed and running, is there a way to make the windows partition bigger?

2013-12-29 Thread Mauricio Almeida
hey guys,
When i installed bootcamp i put a limited space on my Windows
partition, and now that i have used it for months i want it to have a
bigger space.
Is there a way to do that from the Windows or mac, without having to
format and reinstall everything?

thanks

Mauricio

Re: A very interesting new Gmail account problem, on my MacBook.

2013-08-27 Thread Mauricio Almeida
hello Maurice,

Hopefully i will be able to help you here.
Also, feel free to write me off list if you get no where, because i
might be able to help you via Skype as well.
i believe your mistake is simple: try using the servers as the same as
your first gmail account regardless of what your file says, only
changing the settings that apply to user name.
incredibly enough, this should fix your problems.

Thanks

Mauricio

2013-07-01 Thread Mauricio Almeida
people are hipocritical like that, Alex.
They take any oportunity they find to say non sense about people they
rarely know.
Independently on fedora outlier and what they do, why would someone
expert on assistive technology focused on apple need to know
everything about the world of virtualization, for example, as the area
is distinguished?
Its the same thing as asking bill gates what is the password to apples
classified files, and when he says, i dont know, tell him oh you are
stupid for not knowing that and claiming you are an expert!
get real, people. more action, less talk, please.

Re: VM Ware Help Needed

2013-07-01 Thread Mauricio Almeida
the only issue that may be causing this might actually not have to do
with vmware or Windows itself.
the issue is that depending on the mac your cliente is utilizing,
their processor and virtual memory may not support running vmware and
the mac at the same time.
i had this problem when i had one of the old White macbooks, though it
did not happen with my macbook pro.
also, Gabe, it also interests me a great deal why you claim he answers

I personally think that CJ is right here.
I rarely post here, but quite frankly i have seen minimally speaking

once in a while - sometimes ina drama novel format - and the cycle
repeats itself. anyone who looks up list archives will see the cycle.
how you interpret it is up to you, but dont deny it.

strange problem with mac and iPhone 5 contacts

2013-01-02 Thread Mauricio Almeida
hi all

when i tap my contacts on the iPhone 5 and navigate to the right, it makes a
strange sound and jumps right to capital O, and starts reading me those
contacts. for me yto read the others i have to then move to the left with my
finger.
it also seems that my contacts on the mac are no longer sinking even though
everything (i could) is non as it should.

Re: making power points with keynote?

2012-12-07 Thread Mauricio Almeida
hello alex,

you can creat power points easily with the mac, and I am speaking from personal
experience here.
if you want something extremely visual, grandly you will have difficulties, but
that is almost certainly the case on windows as well.
should you wish, i can give you an overview even via audio on how to do so if
you wish.

thanks

Re: helping a blind friend get technology

2012-12-02 Thread Mauricio Almeida
well, let me tell you a few things here:
1: windows are n to as safe as macs are, which adds trouble for the novice user.
2: windows computers are much less stable than the macs.
3: nvda isn't something she will be able to get support for, unless she enters a
list, which already involves some learning within itself, whereas voice over's
support is already with the mac.
4: why would someone start utilizing technology with something as not inclusive
as windows if she could use a mc and be able to use every mac in the world
after that with no additional work?

most times, you will find the money spent pays off.

you see, brandon, people think its easier to complain than to simply use
solutions available and thank people for providing them while they aren't doing
anything better.
good job and keep up the good work.

because you didn't pay afterrds.
after the free credits, you have to login and pay like 2 dollars for 50 or 100
credits, can't remember exactly.
and then it will work normally.

Re: Accessible shopping extension?

2012-11-30 Thread Mauricio Almeida
hello there.

May i give you a hint:

1:
ask him to read you all those numbers.
2: place them on a txt file somewhere you know.
3: change the extension of the file to something random, like .blah.
then, when you need just go to the file and change the extension to txt again,
opening it and copying and pasting numbers from there.

what do you think?

 Hi,

My husband uses some sort of plug in with google chrome on his mac. When
he shops online it will automatically fill out his contact info and he
chooses which credit card he wants to use and he's done. It fill it all
out for him. Is there something like this that is accessible with VO. I
use Safari and I've never used google Chrome because I assume it isn't as
 accessible as safari.

I am open to any solution that isn't super expensive. It does not
necessarily have to be a safari plugin. I always have to ask my
ten-year-old son to help me enter my credit card info and such. I would
 like to be more independent.

 Thanks so much,

Re: Facebook on the Mac

2012-11-18 Thread Mauricio Almeida
hello there,

from my understanding, you completed your account, but is having issues with
that search box which is annoying, correct?
well. here's the deal with that:
it will not read you what you're typing, but it will actually search, so say,
if you type mauricio almeida and either press enter or press the search button,
it will search for mauricio almeida.
then you can just use vo u and navigate through headings to find results.

hope this helps,

shout cast broadcasting on the mac?

2012-11-11 Thread Mauricio Almeida
hi all,

I'm looking for an alternative to programs such as sam broadcaster, which allow
me to connect to a shout cast server, while allowing me to stream for example,
my voice and songs at the same time.
i know ladiocast seems prett good, but i don't think it supports shout cast
servers.
any other ideas?

you know, i hope when you are an actual developer you read through your e-mails

two: apple is not seeing this list therefore they are pointless.

facebook: what is the best way, or app, to tag people?

2012-11-05 Thread Mauricio Almeida
dear all,

since we're complaining about apple and it breaking things, let me come and ask
you to save me with something here.
I had a lot of difficult tagging people on Facebook, be it in the middle of
posts or marking them as "with me". someone taught me how to do it, and it
seems to me that sometimes that option is accessible on Facebook, sometimes not.
are there any hints you can give as for an app that allows this feature to be
done better, or hints on how you all keep that functionality working constantly?

thank you

Re: Firefox Nightly Build Vs. Current Version?

2012-10-12 Thread Mauricio Almeida
hello,

Lets put it this way:
nightly builds are where company test their stuff. every new little thing they
do is implemented in nightly builds.
if it succeeds, then a lot of nightly builds become the next release. if not,
it's taken off.
this is a short version of the technical concept but it gives you the idea.
I see no problem with trying nightly builds so long as you know they can break.

thanks

Re: Boot Camp and 10.8.2

2012-10-06 Thread Mauricio Almeida
hello phil,

when I did it was pretty straight forward, but there is a detail to watch out.

if you install it and use quick install, which is what I did, there will be a
loint when you will press the finish button.
This does to mean your windows is installed, so if you take the cd out right
there you're messed up and will need to start it all again.
after you press the finish button, ask a sighted person to peer at your screen
to tell you when it is actually done.
the only thing they will actually do though is install your first screen reader
on windows. as far os installing vmware will do it all.

thanks

accessing files on the mac while running windows via booth camp?

2012-10-05 Thread Mauricio Almeida
hello all,

I know that with programs such as vmware, one can easily access for example, ad
occurrent saved on the mac while running windows, and the contrary.
is there any way of doing such while using booth camp? i see no mac partition
on the list, which is why i ask?
also, is there a way of doing the contrary, and accessing a documents aged in
the windows partition while on the mac?

thank you

mauricio

Re: need help with fusion error.

2012-10-05 Thread Mauricio Almeida
hello there,

while i can not give you detailed impression as for my machine booth camp works
best as i use an older odel, vm5 seemed to be much faster than 4 as well as
provide support to windows 8, which i have not tested.
I would be glad to hear more about vm5 as well.

2012-10-05 Thread Mauricio Almeida
hi harry,

booth camp does not cost money, except for what you pay for a legal copy of
windows.
I found it to be definitely worth it.
Though i try to do it all on the mac, obviously, it is still good to have
windows. it can come in handy.

hello there,

I most certainly do understand that, and as a marketing person myself
i believe the action wasn't appropriat as the tendency is to draw some

My only point on replying to steve was that since scott already
apologised, we shouldn't keep the discussion going.

Re: Bootcamp again

2012-09-27 Thread Mauricio Almeida
hello,

you can definitely do that without a mouse because you can still click
with the mac one.
they will encounter no difficulty.

here is how this will go (number is below, you may call during installation)

1: run boothcamp utility from utilities folder.
2: select download apple support software, as well as install windows 7.
3: insert a usb drive and save the folder it downloaded. you will need
it, i promise.
it should move on to installing windows:
4: insert your disc, and click on continue.
4: it will restart.
that is where you need a sighted person.
they should select the following screens according to your preference:
language
timezone
keyboard
type of installation (go on the normal one and select boothcamp)

wait the installation to finish.
install the boothcamp software you saved (basic setup)
install speech

enjoy your new life.

Re: using windows on a mac

2012-09-27 Thread Mauricio Almeida
Greetings,

Once your installation is complete, there is no slowing to your
system, simply because you will always be running one system at once.
the process of switching can be done easily by going to system
preferences>startup disc and selecting windows on boothcamp.
after that, your computer will restart on windows.
to come back on the mac, simply visit the boothcamp control pannel
(type booth on the search box of windows seven's start menu) and ask
it to restart on the mac again.

enjoy,

Mauricio
