If your Windoze machine does a BSOD, it should generate a folder called mini dump with the contents of the error. How bad is the rust? Big rust would require lots of shop time to fix, and sourcing fresh fender might be less costly. PnP fender should be very inexpensive. Still lots of shop time to prep for paint and mounting. Probably same a for a new made fender. Maaco paint job with fix would be least expensive, but might look like crap. [MBZ] The History Behind Driving on the Left or Right
Most of the world drives on the right side of the road, but a minority of countries drive on the left. How do countries decide which side they'll drive on? The answer varies from country to country, but in most cases, the side a country drives on comes down to history and economics. In feudal Europe, people would travel on the left side of the road because most people were right-handed and wanted the arm that they used for their sword (or other weapon) between them and anyone who approached. As a result, traveling on the left became customary. Two things changed that. In areas with large farms, like the United States, wagons that were meant to carry large loads didn't have driver's seats. To control the horses pulling the load, farmers would ride on the left horse. Traveling on the right side of the road made sense because it allowed the farmer to see the space between the wheels of his wagon and any approaching wagons to avoid collisions. At about the same time, Napoleon Bonaparte, who was left-handed, was coming to power in France. Since he liked to keep his sword arm between himself and anyone who approached, he preferred to travel on the right side of the road, and decreed that his army would do the same. Though this custom of approach was in place prior to Napoleon taking power, he imposed that direction of travel on the areas he took over throughout Europe. So, Americans and most of mainland Europe started traveling on the right, whereas other areas, like Great Britain, stuck to the left. As Europeans began colonizing other parts of the world, they imposed their direction of travel on those areas. In much of the world, you can tell the side of the road a country travels on based on its status as a former colony. Former colonies of England tend to drive on the left, while former French and American colonies tend to drive on the right. There are exceptions, of course. Canada drives on the right because of their proximity to and longstanding trade relationship with the United States. Sweden used to drive on the left, but because they had a burgeoning automotive industry that depended on trade with countries that drove on the right, they switched. Ghana, a former British colony, also switched from driving on the left to driving on the right because that's how most of their neighboring countries drove. On the other hand, the U.S. Virgin Islands is a territory of the United States, but they drive on the left. http://community.allstate.com/community/allstate_blog/blog/2012/04/05/how-countries-choose-which-side-of-the-road-they-drive-on?cid=OTC-SOC-PB-BLOGatt=OB_Take-Sides-The-History-Behind-Driving-onGerry wrote:Since most American are right handed, and since most Americans are drinkingsomething while they drive, America should switch to driving on the leftside of road. [MBZ] OT: Why women prefer weaker men
Early humans became monogomous because women evolved to prefer reliable providers over macho alpha males, a study has found. Alpha males may have superior looks and strength but women are programmed to favour weaker men who are better providers, a study claims. While physically imposing men hold a certain appeal, women long ago evolved to value qualities like loyalty and generosity over bulging muscles and a strong jawline. This is because men who lacked the ability to compete physically with their peers compensated by providing better for their spouses in order to buy their affection, researchers said. The rise of the Beta male began at an early stage of human evolution when our ancestors lived in large social groups where the most dominant men had access to the most women. Lower-ranking men had to develop another strategy for obtaining a mate, and did so by devoting themselves to one woman and providing her with all the food and protection she needed. This led women to value a generous and devoted partner over a promiscuous stronger man, laying the first foundations for monogamous family life, researchers from Tennessee university said. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/science/evolution/9295131/Why-women-prefer-weaker-men.html ___ http://www.okiebenz.com For new and used parts go to www.okiebenz.com To search list archives http://www.okiebenz.com/archive/ To Unsubscribe or change delivery options go to: http://mail.okiebenz.com/mailman/listinfo/mercedes_okiebenz.com

If rust can be repaired properly without removing fender then I'd opt for that. Fender removal means removal of that undercoating stuff which is a job in itself. That might also predispose to future rust if not prepped and re- undercoated properly. Sent from my iPhone On May 31, 2012, at 4:17 PM, clay monroe redgh...@comcast.net wrote: How bad is the rust? You are under no obligation to use any shop. See what they tell you about going either way. I would want my shop to remove the old fender to do any rust repair and repaint. How bad is the rust? Big rust would require lots of shop time to fix, and sourcing fresh fender might be less costly. Second the new fender. I have not priced a fender for a 123 lately, but give Q a chance. Last I knew 124 fenders and 126 fenders were just a little over $100 each. 123 now being classic center status may have changed the prices. Re: [MBZ] E300D Glow Plug Relay Problem
It's possible to have loose contacts in the relay that cause it (or the light only) to come on when it should be off. Obviously, a loose wire from the keyswitch will do the same thing, but other things should be cycling too (does the radio antenna go up and down, for instance?). I had this happen on my Volvo TD -- if it happened at night, the alternator couldn't keep up and the battery would go dead. Pretty obvious, though, since the relay rattled when shaken! Some years ago (insert your favorite country to insult here) decided to change from driving on the left to driving on the right.
