A*N ACTUAL CRAIG'S LIST PERSONALS AD* *To the Guy Who Tried to Mug Me in Downtown Savannah night before last.* *Date: 2013-11-27, 1:43 am . E.S.T.* *I was the guy wearing the black Burberry jacket that you demanded that I hand over, shortly after you pulled the knife on me and my girlfriend, threatening our lives. You also asked for my girlfriend's purse and earrings. I can only hope that you somehow come across this rather important message.* *First, I'd like to apologize for your embarrassment; I didn't expect you to actually crap in your pants when I drew my pistol after you took my jacket.. The evening was not that cold, and I was wearing the jacket for a reason.. my girlfriend was happy that I just returned safely from my 2nd tour as a CombatMarinein Afghanistan .. She had just bought me that Kimber Custom Model 1911 .45 ACP pistol for my birthday, and we had picked up a shoulder holster for it that very evening. Obviously you agree that it is a very intimidating weapon when pointed at your head ... isn't it?!* *I know it probably wasn't fun walking back to wherever you'd come from with crap in your pants. I'm sure it was even worse walking bare-footed since I made you leave your shoes, cell phone, and wallet with me. (That prevented you from calling or running to your buddies to come help mug us again).* *After I called your mother or Momma as you had her listed in your cell, I explained the entire episode of what you'd done. Then I went and filled up my gas tank as well as those of four other people in the gas station, -- on your credit card. The guy with the big motor home took 153 gallons and was extremely grateful!* *I gave your shoes to a homeless guy outside Vinnie Van Go Go's, along with all the cash in your wallet. [That made his day!]* *I then threw your wallet into the big pink pimp mobile that was parked at the curb . after I broke the windshield and side window and keyed the entire driver's side of the car.* *Earlier, I managed to get in two threatening phone calls to the DA's office and one to the FBI, while mentioning President Obama as my possible target.* *The FBI guy seemed really intense and we had a nice long chat (I guess while he traced your number etc.).* *In a way, perhaps I should apologize for not killing you ... but I feel this type of retribution is a far more appropriate punishment for your threatened crime. I wish you well as you try to sort through some of these rather immediate pressing issues, and can only hope that you have the opportunity to reflect upon, and perhaps reconsider, the career path you've chosen to pursue in life.. Thanks, Mitch. The residue isn't wax but excessive orange oil furniture polish. I had some luck using warm water with a little dish detergent, applied with wrung out rag and then wiped dry. In fact, you said, Turpentine on a rag, outside. Wipe it down, scrub it, whatever, to get the old nasty stuff off (if indeed it is oil and not varnish or shellac). You can then put on more oil (tung oil or boiled linseed oil) or a Watco danish oil which is more like a varnish that you wipe on. You wipe it on, let it sit a few minutes, then wipe off the excess and let it dry. You will want to do several coats, maybe a day in between but not a lot longer. After a coat or two you might want to hit it with 400 or 600 grit sandpaper to take out the nibs, last time put on a thinned coat (mix in some of that turpentine), let it dry, then use some steel wool and paste wax to buff it up, let it sit a few minutes then buff with a soft cloth. Will look awesome. Or just give it to me. I was driving my '83 300D beater through Crystal RIver which is a short distance from the outer edge of the tidal swamp that makes up the coast of this part of north central Florida when some big sea bird (probably a pelican) dumped a huge load of white feces on the hood. I was on the way home so I didn't stop to clean it off. By the time I arrived at the house, the pelicans present had dried and was barely removeable with a garden hose. It stained the evenly oxidized blue finish of the beater, and as everyone knows, there is no way to get stain out of oxidized paint besides letting it continue to oxidize until the paint has powdered off and the stain is gone. There are many advantages to having a Mercedes daily driver with oxidized paint. No one envies me for having a Mercedes, and thieves don't even think about breaking into it since there is little likelihood of anything valuable being inside. So you see, Randy, there are always problems with our old Mercedes. It's just that many are hardly worth discussing. As far as discussing current events, Amanda Knox has once against been declared guilty of murdering her room mate by an Italian court. Does anything think she is guilty? Not guilty? Personally I think she is guilty. Mr. Sterlings team has been barred from playing in his league because Mr. Sterling said some bad words in private. Re: [MBZ] Quiet List?
Actually my fleet has been chugging along nicely. The '84 190D has responded well to some highway flogging. You might remember I had some complaints about cold starts on it, after making the run to work a couple times and once to have breakfast with Fred its much improved. I order some diesel purge in my last order of VW parts which should finish the job. The Jetta seems like it needs a glow plug or two, I put in a new glowplug harness which got the check engine light to shut off for awhile but its back. I need to get under the hood with the multi-meter. Apparently rounding off the flats on the glow plugs is very common on these so I'm nervous. Car starts perfectly, but its been so warm the glow plugs don't even come on. The search for a Ranger replacement continues. Next to test is Nissan, Frontier and Titan. If we like it I'd consider buying a new Frontier, you can get them for around $25k which is nice and its all the truck we need. Today's job for normal life was to convert my formerly corporate cell phone to an individual responsibility that the company gives me a stipend to have. Looks like my useage is low enough I'll actually be ahead $10 or $20/mo on the deal. -Curt Date: Wed, 30 Apr 2014 13:42:44 -0500 From: Randy Bennell rbenn...@bennell.ca To: Mercedes Discussion List mercedes@okiebenz.com Subject: [MBZ] Quiet List? I feel your pain in regard to the bird issue. I had a similar scenario with my car a while back. My paint is not oxidized but it is apparently enamel without clear coat. The spot is still visible after washing etc. I have not tried to rub it out with some compound but that may help so I do have intention to try it. As to the basketball ban, I could not agree with you more. The whole politically correct nonsense is becoming a problem. The media loves this stuff and any poor soul who defies the politically correct agenda is hung out to dry. Is it ok to be a bigot so long as you don't say anything that might give you away? My basic feeling is that the black people are a whole lot better off with a situation where they know who the bigots are than they are with a situation where people keep their opinions quiet.
