Re: [MBZ] ?

You need to get to the NSA gift shop. Really.

I was at Ft. Meade in the early 90s, and one of the first days I was there we
went down to the cafeteria to get some lunch.

Now mind you, this was long before Snowden and other such events, so many of
the the three letter government agencies were rarely spoken of or even
acknowledged publicly. The running joke was always NSA stands for No Such
Agency.

As we walk out of the cafeteria, lo and behold, there is a flippin' gift shop
filled with NSA swag!!!

I bought a very discreet T-shirt with the letters NSA and the agency seal
below it.

What's really funny is that I had a contractor in house a few weeks ago who had
done some work for the NSA a few years ago. We spoke briefly about it, but the
one thing he said I found funny was, Can you believe they've got a gift shop
in that place?

Dan we never had this conversation

Re: [MBZ] 124 camber

2015-03-20 Thread Dan Penoff via Mercedes
Spring pads can and will compress over time. I'm getting ready to replace the
pads on the 95 S500, as it sits a bit low in the back based both on visual and
measured height.

On point to note: MB can't tell you what spring pad is on your car, as they are
fit during production based on the height. They can tell you what spring is on
it, but you have to visually inspect the pad or shim as they call it by looking
at it in place and counting the burls that stick out.

The burls are little nubs or pins of rubber molded into the side of the shim
and are usually visible by just looking at the shim from below. I believe the
number of burls range from one to five.

The number of burls correspond to the different shim thicknesses, which your
parts supplier can identify when you tell them how many yours has.

In my case I was all ready to replace the rear springs, but I'm going to do the
shims first and see how that goes.

Data?

Actual science is like:

Make a theory

Make a null hypothesis that says something of the sort: If my theory is
correct, then y condition will occur after x happens. Set up appropriate
statistical analysis to show that this condition y is not likely to have
happened by chance to a whatever (95%, 99%) probability.

Gather data. Crunch numbers.

Rinse, repeat. Let other actual scientists also repeat.

What we have seen so far from the IPCC theories is that the data are
occurring outside the range of predicted results. That is known in actual
science as falsifying the theory.

What this list should be doing instead of debating global warmings existence,
is to start thinking about workable solutions in case there is such a thing
as global warming and its effects are as predicted.
The first thing to do is eliminate the proposed solutions that cannot be done
such as as reducing pollution by significantly restricting the use of fossil
fuels. Fossil fuels have been the basis of mankinds progress since the
beginning of the industrial age about 200 years ago and there are no energy
sources that can effectively replace them now.
Solar energy is obviously the best hope. If every DIYer on this list put some

USE a SPC control chart and do the math correctly. the numbers will

acceptable levels. WHat level do you want? 6 sigma? 4? 2 sigma?

Based on what the darwinist science tells us, the earf is millions
of years old. so it would probably take hundreds of thousands of
years of data to produce a good control chart.

Personally, I'd guess if you had 10,000 years data, that would
probably suffice. 200 to 300 years data we have is but a blip in
time. It is insufficient to establish meaningful control limits.

2015-03-20 Thread Greg Fiorentino via Mercedes

So how many years of data would you like before you're persuaded we have a

(Andrew?)

 How old is the planet?
What this list should be doing instead of debating global warmings existence,
is to start thinking about workable solutions in case there is such a thing as
global warming and its effects are as predicted.
If every DIYer on this list put some
sort of solar panel on his roof; no matter how small; it would be a start. The
longest journey begins with one step.
Gerry

USE a SPC control chart and do the math correctly. the numbers will
tell us how much data we need to bring the control levels into
acceptable levels.

I saw a vid posted on some tech site yesterday of all that crap in a big
hopper going into a shredder, every bit of plastic, metal, and whatever

cheaper to replace than buy ink carts. It probably does get shipped to
Africa or China or somewhere for recovery of whatever is useful. Having
seen how they do that -- big outdoor piles of burning smoldering smoking

March 19, 2015 Arctic sea ice has reached its lowest-ever wintertime level,
a fresh indication that rapidly rising global temperatures are
significantly impacting the polar region.

The National Snow and Ice Data Center announced
http://nsidc.org/arcticseaicenews/2015/03/2015-maximum-lowest-on-record/
Thursday
that this year's Arctic ice cover hit a peak of 5.61 million square miles
at the end of February, an alltime winter low since records began in 1979.

Arctic sea ice expands and shrinks on a seasonal basis. Polar ice is
typically at its thickest and most expansive in the winter before
significant amounts of the Arctic's ice sheets melt away during the spring.

That trend is to be expected, scientists say. But what is not typical is
how thin Arctic ice has become in recent years during the winter.

Temperatures are rising twice as fast in the polar region than the rest of
the planet due to climate change, and scientists predict that within
decades Arctic ice could completely disappear.

How old is the planet?

USE a SPC control chart and do the math correctly. the numbers will
tell us how much data we need to bring the control levels into
acceptable levels.

[MBZ] US Crude oil production sets record - more propaganda

2015-03-20 Thread Andrew Strasfogel via Mercedes
.OIL:U.S. is on track to break 1970 production record -- if crude prices
cooperate

Published: Friday, March 20, 2015

U.S. daily oil production this year could achieve a record volume not seen
since 1970. But the oil price bust unraveling the industry now may keep
domestic production figures just under that level for a few more years,
depending on how swiftly producers can curb the outflow.

The Department of Energy's Energy Information Administration (EIA) said the
U.S. hit peak crude output in November 1970, when monthly production
averaged 10 million barrels per day. The average output for the year was
about 9.6 million barrels per day, the annual record.

December 2014 average production is estimated to have been nearly 9.23
million barrels a day. The annual average for 2014 is estimated to be 8.65
million barrels a day. Prior to the price bust, the domestic oil industry
was on target to achieving 1970 production volumes this year, but reports
of plateauing production in some shale oil fields amid the price collapse
are now pointing to a lower overall number.

The short answer is no, EIA spokesman Jonathan Cogan said in an email,
when asked whether it's likely that 2015 could see a return to 1970
production highs.

Peter Maniloff, an energy and environment economics professor at the
Colorado School of Mines, said momentum will keep U.S. shale oil production
rising until output from new wells drops off sharply over the course of
about 18 months.

By mid-2015, wells that were drilled in January 2014 will be only a
fraction of their former selves, Maniloff said. The fact that we are
cutting well drilling now will start to have an effect a year from now.

If earlier predictions pan out, then U.S. output would reach or exceed the
1970 annual average high.

The shale oil boom has seen output expanding by around 1 million barrels
per day on average over the past couple of years. The United States has
gone from pumping 5 million barrels a day in 2008 to at least 9.2 million
barrels per day at present.

As the active rig rate began dropping sharply due to the price crash, many
industry watchers anticipated U.S. production growth would continue, but
slowing to around 700,000 barrels per day. If true, that suggests the 1970
annual average level could still be reached again this summer, while the
November 1970 monthly record would be hit in early 2016.

New data are casting doubt on this, however.

This week, energy commodities tracking firm Bentek, a division of Platts,
reported that oil production from the Bakken and Eagle Ford shales came
close to flat-lining last month, rising by a cumulative 19,000 barrels per
day, or only 1 percent. Federal energy analysts are predicting production
from those two fields could actually fall in April.

Rising production in the Permian Basin and Gulf of Mexico will offset
anticipated declines from the Eagle Ford and Bakken for months to come. But
EIA now says it doesn't believe the difference will be large enough to
achieve the 1970 record.

EIA now says U.S. domestic crude production will expand to an annual
average of 9.35 million barrels per day this year, a figure barely above
the December 2014 monthly output level, according to its latest Short-Term
Energy Outlook. Annual production for 2016 is forecast to be 9.5 million
barrels a day.
Where will oil prices land?

Analysts widely believe global crude oil prices will recover to at least
the $70 range that year. If the new EIA outlooks holds, at that pricing
level it's feasible that daily U.S. production volumes could once again
achieve highs at or beyond 1970 records, but not until 2017 or possibly
further out.

Globally, output is also expected to rise, so demand for crude will have to
firm up if prices are to recover from the 60 percent drop witnessed
yesterday.

In a February review energy, analysts at Deloitte said they believe global
output from new large oil field projects will expand by 2.6 million to 3.4
million barrels per day, a figure that excludes U.S. shale oil and new
output from the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries.

These projects are well underway and are unlikely to be halted, even in
the current low-price environment, analysts wrote.

Natural oil field declines around the world will cut in to this additional
supply, but the general consensus is that oil production will expand in
2015 and 2016. Deloitte agrees that total U.S. production will grow, but at
less than the average 1 million barrels per day that the U.S. industry has
experienced over the past couple of years.

The shale oil boom has already led U.S. oil and gas companies to pump more
domestic crude than at peak 1980s levels. Monthly production hit 9.1
million barrels per day in January 1986.

Bruce Wells, an energy historian at the American Oil and Gas Historical
Society, sees close parallels to the drilling boom in the 1980s that ended
in about 1986 and the boom-bust cycle the industry finds itself in today.
However, he

you can insert between coils without removing the spring / spring pad.

http://www.bloomberg.com/news/videos/2015-03-19/obama-orders-40-emissions-cut-by-u-s-agencies-deese

(Bloomberg) -- Solar Power Inc., a renewable-energy developer backed by
China’s LDK Solar Co., is joining with Aqua Clean Energy to develop
floating solar projects in the U.S. and Mexico.

The joint venture would put solar panels on platforms in reservoirs, quarry
lakes, irrigation canals and tailing ponds, Shanghai-based Solar Power said
in a statement Thursday. The joint venture is considering projects in
California, Arizona, New Mexico, Texas and Mexico.

In addition to the environmental benefits of clean power, the platforms
will reduce water evaporation and slow algae growth, Solar Power said. The
two companies have identified more than 50 megawatts of potential projects.

“This technology not only generates clean solar power energy, but also
serves to conserve water in critically dry regions like the southwestern
U.S. and California in particular, which is now experiencing its fourth
consecutive year of drought,” Peng Xiaofeng, chairman of SPI, said in the
statement.

Jacqueline Lilinshtein, a Bloomberg New Energy Finance analyst, said the
concept may have a limited market appeal and only a small impact on water
conservation.

“Unless the technology offers significant savings in capital expenditures
or increases output, it will likely remain a niche product,” Lilinshtein
said Thursday in an e-mail. “Any water savings will be a drop in a bucket,
especially in places such as California, which is enduring one of the worst
droughts in its recent history.”

California’s reservoirs are less than half full after record-low rain and
snowfall. Governor Jerry Brown is expected to unveil emergency legislation
Thursday that’s intended to help manage the water shortage.

Solar installations in the U.S. this year may reach almost 9 gigawatts,
while global demand is expected to rise 23 percent to more than 58
gigawatts, according to data compiled by Bloomberg New Energy Finance. Last
year, about 6.3 gigawatts were added in the U.S.

[MBZ] OT - A COUNTRY BOY REMEMBERS, WEATHERSBY FARM

2015-03-20 Thread WILTON via Mercedes
Yep, another one already. Some of you may have seen part (the 2
visitors/strangers) of this before.

WEATHERSBY FARM
By Wilton Strickland

In January of 1944, we moved to the Thad Weathersby Farm in Franklin
County, NC, between Spring Hope and Zebulon. The land on this farm was red,
hard and rocky. I remember watching Carson and W. B., my seventeen and
fifteen-year-old brothers, trying to plow with, as usual, a mule-drawn,
walk-behind plow. The ground was so hard, it was very difficult to keep the
plow in the ground, and the abundant rocks made the plows bounce around
throwing the boys violently up and down and from side to side.
Early in the year, Daddy, Carson and W. B. were in the woods cutting
wood to be used to cure the year's tobacco crop. They were using a long
crosscut saw and an ax to fell trees and cut them into sections for the barn
furnaces. Daddy was using the ax when W. B. stepped in front of it and
received a severe cut on the leg above his kneecap. Daddy carried W. B. to
the house in his arms, and Carson drove them to a doctor. W. B. recovered
completely, but he was out of school for several days and used crutches for
several weeks.
In the yard near the house was a small wooden building used as a shop of
sorts. The shop did not have many tools, but I spent a lot of time in the
building tinkering, building bird houses, toy boats, etc., from small pieces
of scrap lumber and learning to saw with a dull hand saw. In early spring, a
nice pile of new, rough-sawed, pine lumber was delivered to the farm to use
in building a new tobacco-curing barn. Much of the lumber was 1 X 12
boards. I freely used these boards and the nails provided with them to make
three or four long flower boxes for our front porch. I never asked
permission to use this lumber. When I had an idea for a project, I just
scrounged (took) what I needed from the pile. Neither Daddy nor the
landowner ever said a word to me about taking the lumber and nails. Daddy
was there with me every day, and the landowner came often. They both knew
what I was doing, though we never discussed it. They probably thought the
carpentry exercises were good training for an industrious 10-year-old boy.
Mama and I used the boxes to raise lots of petunias and other flowers I don't
remember.
One Saturday afternoon in early summer, Carson, Daddy and I were
returning home after grocery shopping in Spring Hope. We came upon two
young men in their early twenties, standing by the road trying to hitch a
ride. We stopped for them, and they got into the back seat with me. They
were thin, dirty unshaven and had no luggage or baggage - no package of
any sort - that I remember. They said that they had not had a meal in
several days and had been eating green, raw corn from the fields by the
road. They told us that they were from New Jersey and just bumming around
the country on an adventure. Because tobacco harvest time was just
beginning, and labor was in short supply, Daddy made a deal with them to
stay with us for the summer and help with the harvest.
They had never been on a farm before, but learned quickly, seeming to
enjoy all of it, especially when I would let them drive the mules pulling
the small tobacco trucks back and forth from the fields to the curing barn.
At times, however, they wanted the mules to go too fast for our safety and
the animals' good health. Once, when one of them was driving the mule
pulling an empty tobacco trunk along the side of the busy, paved highway,
and I was in the truck with him, he was making the mule run. Suddenly, the
mule bolted onto the pavement in front of an approaching Trailways bus! The
bus driver and I stared into each other's terrified eyes as the bus skidded
toward us and stopped close enough for me to reach out and touch the front
of it. Every day I've had since that day has been a bonus.
The visitors and I soon became good friends and were often alone -
just the three of us. Almost every time we were alone, one of them would
ask me if I spoke German, sometimes pressing me with, Are you sure you don't
speak German? Of course, I, a ten-year-old farm boy in eastern North
Carolina in 1944, did not speak German. After being assured each time that
I did not speak German, they would go into a private lengthy conversation
in German. Until a few years ago, I had never told anybody else in the
family about these conversations in German and their insistence that I not
be able to understand them. They never spoke German around others in the
family, and I was too young and naïve to suspect anything other than what
they had told us, but I now feel certain that the two young men were,
indeed, German.
The two visitors were with us for six or eight weeks until Daddy began
to suspect that he may have been harboring draft dodgers and asked them to
leave. They left our lives as suddenly as they had entered. Meanwhile,

A neighbor who is a conspiracy nut, says that there are Government planes
flying around spreading aluminum power in the stratosphere to reflect
sunlight away, thus reducing global warming. You can see them when you see
a contrail that extends from horizon to horizon. The conspiracy part is
that the aluminum falls to earth and poisons our food and water supplies,
the Government knows this, but doesn't care.

To Grant's theory about the magnetic poles changing and the magnetic flux
weakening, thus letting more cosmic rays in, I think he's onto something.
No one has addresses the HUGE increase in electro-magnetic radiation since
cell phones became main stream. All those electro-MAGNETIC waves, coupled
with all the WiFi, are destroying the magnetic flux shield that earth
naturally has in place! I blame it all on the HUGE number of un-licensed
radios in place. I posit that if we out-lawed all un-licensed
electro-magnetic radiation, the problem would go away as soon as 80% of the
devices were powered down. Only licensed elecrto-magnetic radiators should
be allowed.

While it's probably illegal to jam it, these are all operating on public
unlicensed frequencies which have as their stipulation that they must not
cause interference to licensed operations, and must accept any interference
that they encounter. The digital codes that they employ are purposefully
difficult to clone/intercept, so that will be difficult or very expensive
to accomplish, if possible.
However, Curt's low tech idea of netting it is the best, IMHO.
A: - low tech, simple. Think Occam's razor.
B: - the device is not hurt or destroyed, it is now more valuable to you.
At the very least, you can sell it on eBay, but I like the idea of
replacing the receiver with your own. Also think of the Amazon drones (who
just got approval for testing from the FAA) - skeey with prizes. You
wouldn't want to harm your prize would you?
C: - Jamming, a lot of these are programmed to fly home to the point the
flight originated if it looses contact with the controller - if you don't
destroy the whole electronic system, it will just fly away.

Yes - a net gun is the best solution!

It was great to meet up with Jaime and his associate Andrew and spend a few
hours talking MBs.

There is some background here worth repeating:

My youngest son is not a gear head, but he does love his Mercedes, and for that
matter, all things MB and exotic when it comes to cars. He's been in close
touch while I actively search for a new car these days, so when Jaime told me
he would be in the neighborhood with the Maybach I hatched a scheme.

I told Stu I was going to be looking at a potential car purchase in St. Pete
where he attends school, and that if he wanted I would pick him up and we could
get some dinner. Being the proverbial starving college student, he gladly
accepted my offer.

I drove over and picked him up that night, telling him the car and its owner
were over at the Hampton Inn and we would meet him there.

We drove over to the Hampton Inn and walked up to two men standing at the lobby
doors. Jaime? I asked, and we exchanged pleasantries.

So where is this car? I asked.

Right over there, as we walked towards the Maybach.

Stu just about soiled himself. It was, and still is, a priceless moment I'll
never forget. I'm indebted to Jaime for being gracious enough to let us take a
ride in it. Needless to say, Stu was agog, in awe, etc., for the whole
evening. When I talked to him the next morning, I asked him how much sleep he
had gotten that night.

I was so wound up I finally got to sleep around two!

That was really great. You gave my boy an experience he'll never forget. I am a

I put in new shims the last time the links were replaced, along with
the subframe bushings, LCAs and shocks. I could try thicker shims.

I've replaced springs before, to no avail. They don't get sprung.
they do crack on occasion.

Spring pads can and will compress over time. I'm getting ready to
replace the pads on the 95 S500, as it sits a bit low in the back
based both on visual and measured height.

On point to note: MB can't tell you what spring pad is on your car,
as they are fit during production based on the height. They can tell
you what spring is on it, but you have to visually inspect the pad
or shim as they call it by looking at it in place and counting the
burls that stick out.

The burls are little nubs or pins of rubber molded into the side
of the shim and are usually visible by just looking at the shim from
below. I believe the number of burls range from one to five.

The number of burls correspond to the different shim thicknesses,
which your parts supplier can identify when you tell them how many
yours has.

In my case I was all ready to replace the rear springs, but I'm
going to do the shims first and see how that goes.

Re: [MBZ] More on from the global warming conspiracy front

2015-03-20 Thread rogerhga--- via Mercedes
Well, I'm going to add some stuff simply because I can't take any more of the
bickering...it's making my eyes hurt as I read it.  Personally, I think the
Earth may be both warming and cooling.  Why, the magnetic poles are trying to
flip.  Now, if you read the science, which according to some on this list is
either gospel or hocus pocus.  Anyway, as the poles flip the Earth's magnetic
fields strengthen and weaken.  If you look at the current map of Antarctica, it
is experiencing both cooling on one side and warming on the other.  Again, if
you read the stories, when the magnetic fields weaken, it lets in more of the
cosmic radiation which is an efficient source of heating.  Now, since the
reports indicate that the magnetic fields have weakened a good deal since 1900,
could this be causing some warming?  And also, causing some cooling?  I'm not a
physics PHD, so I don't know, but it seems just as plausible as man made global
warming.
Now comes the question, if it is the poles flipping causing this, how much
money can world governments spend to stop it and how can Al Gore claim that he
is responsible for the poles flipping?  So, I throw this in to provide yet
another possible scenario to be debated with no absolute answer in sight as no
one was around 750,000 yrs ago.
Best Wishes and have a happy and restful weekend,

I would like a turn at climate change theory, since it seems any crackpot
with a PhD can take license to propound any theory that will generate grant
money.

Premise 1: Earth Magnetic pole shift is now happening. The degree of
magnetic North shift has precessed at a more rapid rate than previously
recorded. There is now an area of magnetic pole reversal located in the
South Atlantic, which is growing in size and intensity. South pole magnetic
lines of flux center [which represent the magnetic south pole position] has
also shifted by progression.

The Earth has experienced polar relocation several times, verified through
geological history.

Thus, the Earth is preparing to yet again change it's center of rotational
axis.

The life cycle of planetary movement far exceeds the life cycle of human
record keeping, and in most cases, far exceeds the scope of human
imagination, and in all cases, exceeds the life cycle of government funding.

Premise 2: These changes in Magnetic polar shift cause attendant changes in
the lines of magnetic force which surround the earth and act as a shield
which deflect energy from the Sun in the form of various frequencies.
Without this magnetic shield, the earth would receive the full intensity of
Sun energy and the water and gas would boil away.

Shifts in Magnetic polar location cause shifts in Magnetic Lines of Force.
This shift causes changes in the Magnetic Shield Effect, thus, in the
current state of flux, an incremental increase in warming in some locations.

Premise 3: The EPA, in both USA and EU, have forced the reduction in
visible particulates in the air. Those visible particulates served to blank
out to some degree, as cloud cover, the Sun heating effect, thus reduction
of particulates has had a direct cause on the increase of global heat rise
and consequently, the melting of Polar ice caps and the death of Polar Bear
Babies [not true, there are now more Polar Bears than before the current
climate change hoopla]

Premise 4: Thus, Government is the cause of the current exacerbation of a
natural Earth Cycle that can not be attenuated by Social Engineering. In
fact, Social Engineering is a direct contributor to the acceleration of the
Natural process.

Large urban populations, in order to be built require the destruction of
forest and medow, replaced by concrete, asphalt, buildings, and a
concentration of
vehicles and humans. None of which contribute to reduction of the Sun Heat
Load, instead, becoming virtual heat sinks that absorb Sun Energy and
retain it.

Thus the argument is raised that all cities must be burned down [to
generate cloud particulate cover] and the populations dispersed to the
remaining forests and open spaces with rules in place that only small
tribes can gather.

The suggestion is made that this Social Engineering is the only action that
will save the planet from further destruction prior to the coming Polar
Shift, which will, from the geological record, likely cause extinction of
all life as presently known..

Re: [MBZ] 124 camber

2015-03-20 Thread Curly McLain via Mercedes

I may have some of those bolt kits.

If you use a base height of 14.5 and then use the MB chart, which in
this case, (124.133) shows +30mm, it makes sense. The 14.5 +30mm
gives you a ride height of about 15.7 to 16 Based on some posts
from other 124 owners, the 15.5 to 16 range seems common for 124 cars.

We will see where I end up. THe top shim has 3 nubs. These were
replaces a couple years ago when I replaced everything but springs.
Shocks seem to have good pressure. Springs are original. they
measure 13.3 overall length. I have not found a chart for spring
measurements.

Here is a nice informational page, includes the part number for the
special kit to adjust the camber:

http://www.continentalimports.com/ser_ic4232.htmlhttp://www.continentalimports.com/ser_ic4232.html

bolt kit (part #210 330 00 18)

This kit is meant for 202 and later chassis, but I'll bet it will
also work on a 124 chassis.

Re: [MBZ] 124 camber

2015-03-20 Thread Randy Bennell via Mercedes

Is this your pride and joy, or a beater, or something in between?

If you cannot fix it in what you think is the normal and proper way, you
might consider bending the control arm.
You say that the lower arm acts like it is stretched. If you arced it a
bit, it would shorten the arm.
The old Ford twin I beam front suspension on pick up trucks required one
to bend the I beam in order to correct alignment issues of this nature.
It is a bit of an issue to determine how much to bend it. I know that
some alignment mechanics got pretty good at adjusting the Ford trucks.
I think they used to chain the truck down and then just jack under the
beam to bend it up.

You could dismantle the suspension and bend it in a press.

supposedly the camber is not adjustable. All parts were OE or OEM.
the obvious cause would be if the lower control arm was stretched, or
the top link was too short.

I did replace the LCAs also in the attempt to correct the problem.
Body height seems right. springs were not sprung, or broken, replaced

Any ideas how to correct or fix the camber problem? I am out of

Yabbut then the whole system is fried. Hijacking might be easier with a
more powerful control xmtr but you would have to find one that was
compatible with the rcvr, there probably aren't that many frequencies

illegal.

Re: [MBZ] 124 camber

2015-03-20 Thread Curly McLain via Mercedes
Does anyone know? Peter perhaps? On a 124, is there normally a
rubber shim below the rear spring? Mine has never had any since I
got it. That may be the root of the problem. The top has new ones
with 3 nubs on it. Those were new when I replaced everything else.

Overkill?

I put about 1.25 shim under the rear springs. the camber appears
about a half degree positive, rather than 1.5 to 1.7 negative. I
believe that is within spec.

the fender arch is now 17 above the center of the wheel. so it is
about a 2 to 1 multiple from the shim.

I'm thinking that 15.5 to 16 is about right.

I will let it go a while and see if it settles in, and the
measurement decreases. I may need to take out the shims and cut them
down some. But the camber is in spec now. it may be overkill, but
it is better than it was.
