Re: [MBZ] Good or bad snake?
Hard to be sure from photo but I'd guess garter snake https://herpsofnc.org/eastern-garter-snake/ or less common ribbon snake https://herpsofnc.org/eastern-ribbon-snake/ , both non toxic. The toxic snakes in the US are the coral snakes and vipers, which include cotton mouth, copper head, and several rattle snakes. Several harmless snakes resemble the coral snake but corral snakes have the distinctive "red-on-yellow kill a fellow" color pattern. The vipers have a wide head and (of course) rattlers rattle, usually. https://wildlifeinformer.com/venomous-snakes-in-the-united-states/ -Original Message- From: Mercedes On Behalf Of Buggered Benzmail via Mercedes Sent: Thursday, November 25, 2021 9:38 PM To: Mercedes Discussion List Cc: Buggered Benzmail Subject: Re: [MBZ] Good or bad snake? I was on the mbz.org diesel list before this list. Seem to recall there was some sort of catastrophic server or disk failure and when recovery didn't seem to be happening, Kaleb started okiebenz and many people migrated over. mbz.org eventually/partly came back on line for a while with some of the articles but I don't think the lists ever did. Re: [MBZ] My New Friend
In my quest for cheap transportation the worst deal I ever had was that $250 190D. It definitely proved the rule that "nothing is more expensive than a cheap Mercedes."OTOH the best I ever did was with my $1500 1998 Jetta TDI. I think that might be my favorite car. It's too bad the tin worm was so bad to it. Hammie the $1500, and then $800 '83 240D was also a good value, both times I owned it. -Curt On Thursday, November 25, 2021, 08:06:31 PM EST, Dwight Giles wrote: yes I grew up in a penny pinching family. my grandmother warned about being "pennywise and pound foolish". [MBZ] What kind of plug is this?
This was the plug on the alignment lift. It says it’s a 20 amp 125/250 plug. I bought an outlet that I thought was it but it’s not. What I bought was this: https://www.lowes.com/pd/Eaton-20A-250V-Industrial-Receptacle-BL/1002943846 But that’s not it. So I looked at 20 amp 125/250 and they all have 4 prongs. https://www.lowes.com/pd/Eaton-20A-125-250V-Industrial-Receptacle-Orange/1002943798 I wonder if this is some sort of obsolete plug or something proprietary? I’m having a hard time connecting the 3 separate wires together with wire nuts so I thing I will just swap out this plug for the 250 volt 3 prong version. [MBZ] My New Friend
About a half a mile up Villa Nueva away from my house, there’s a mid century slump block rancher with an inordinately large garage and a large, enclosed carport that you access from the backyard off the golf course. In true neighborhood creeper fashion, I’ve known (since about 1990) that this garage and the carport are filled with all types of MBs. I always was on the lookout for a time to strike up a conversation with the fellow, but he is elusive; he is either cloistered in his home out of the heat or he is in Deutschland. Last spring, I noticed him out feebly trimming a palm tree and I wanted to stop but I was on my way to a call-out night shift at the old nuke plant. Figures. On my way home the next morning I left him a note attached to his front door introducing myself as a fellow MB enthusiast and a neighbor eager to help him with home maintenance. He called me later that afternoon and we talked for about a half an hour and he told me the that next day they were leaving for Germany for the summer. He said that he has a man that watches his house but he appreciate the offer and said that we would meet up once he returned in the fall. Two days ago I noticed his pristine 500 SL parked in the driveway, so I knew he had returned. Yesterday when I was driving by I saw that his garage door was up. As I looked over, I saw him pouring something into the fuel tank of his black 61 280 SE Coupe. We talked for an hour. I saw his garage stable (560 SEL, 500SL, ML350, 280 SE Coupe, RR Silver Spur) but didn’t see the carport. He says he may be thinning the herd a bit (he just sold his W126 coupe and his ‘60 190 SL). I called dibs on the rest for us. [MBZ] Ebay is a scam
Just be aware, selling cars on ebay is a scam. If you have the high bidder non pay, all you can do is basically cancel the sale and relist it. No leaving bad feedback, nothing. Only option, cancel order. No incentive at all for bidder to pay. If you want to list the vehicle again, you will pay the listing fee again, apparently you do not get to relist it for free. Ebay gets their money every time you run it regardless if it sells, is paid for etc. ___ http://www.okiebenz.com To search list archives http://www.okiebenz.com/archive/ To Unsubscribe or change delivery options go to: http://mail.okiebenz.com/mailman/listinfo/mercedes_okiebenz.com
