[MBZ] The former Poos CDI
Since the 99 is getting sidelined while I do battle with State Farm, I have decided it was long overdue to put the former Poos CDI into service. I just pulled it the shop. When I drove it home years ago it lacked power and smoked. Had a code for egr and something else. I just pulled the cover and found a plug disconnected on the drivers side that I think might go to EGR. Cleared codes and it has not returned yet. I will now install a new set of tires on it and probably do an oil and fuel filter service on it. It also had a code for the interior temp sensor which is by the ignition switch. I am assuming it needs to be replaced as it doesn’t regulate the temp like it should. I will have to order parts and will later do motor mounts, tranny filter etc. It also needs to go to the dealer for the SBC. My goal is to have it ready enough to go to KC on Monday. Otherwise I guess I will drive the smashed 210. Re: [MBZ] Portable freezer trailer
They probably don’t. I’ll bet they use dry ice. There are guys that used to be around the FL house that went around in little pickup trucks with chest freezers in the back selling “overstock” meat from local restaurants (allegedly). Always seemed sort of scammy, and with so many carny people in the area, you’re prone to seriously question people doing stuff like this. I had one come by our cul-de-sac a few years ago and hit me up. Said he had a bunch of “overstock” meat from a nearby Chili’s restaurant he was trying to sell. I said, “Really? funny that Craig, my neighbor, (pointing at house across the street) didn’t mention that. He’s the manager at the Chili’s.” Guy in the truck bolted without a comment. -D > On Aug 20, 2022, at 12:46 PM, OK Don via Mercedes > wrote: > > The rancher we buy grass fed beef from delivers frozen beef around the OKC > metro area in a regular full size van with two long (8 ft?) chest freezers > in the back. Re: [MBZ] Portable freezer trailer
Yeah the other thought I had was put a couple of chest freezers in the trailer, if that would be enough capacity. Mount a small generator somewhere for power. But those freezers are made to sit on a solid floor, not bounce down the road. They might not hold up to the movement and vibration. Re: [MBZ] Steam Cleaner
The steamer loosens stuff up really well. So like crusty grungy stuff on trim, it dissolves it. Cleaning the E500 and S550, there was all this sticky sh*t under the seats on the rails and plastic covers and the steamer blasted that stuff loose really quickly. Vinyl stains and dirt, gets it loosened right up then you can use some sort of cleaner (I use simple green diluted or this other stuff I found called Simple Clean, it is purple, I dilute it too, but might be a little corrosive as it appears to have lye in it but it works). Can also work in the engine bay on grease and stuff too. On carpets, I spray on some Folex (someone suggested that stuff, it is great) and let it sit then hit it with steam and a lot of stains come loose very easily. Can either hit them with a brush on a drill and whatever other cleaner you want to try (I mix up a homebrew cleaner with some oxyclean, Dawn, and a bit of laundry detergent in a spray bottle, some add alcohol too which I think I did once but didn't really notice a difference). Scrub it out. Then use the extraction machine to spray on whatever cleaner you want to use in that (I bought Odoban which I saw recommended as a carpet and upholstery cleaner, of course Bissel want you to buy their stuff which is probably fine too) and extract it. I did not have the extraction cleaner when I did the E500 the guy appeared to have run a coffee shop in, so used the steamer and the brushes and those cleaners, and my shop vac to extract it all. Worked well but probably not as well as the purpose-built extraction cleaner. --FT On 8/20/22 11:11 AM, dan penoff.com via Mercedes wrote: What makes the steam cleaner useful over the extraction cleaner? Re: [MBZ] Portable freezer trailer
These are whoopie pies the wife makes and transports to various out of state locations to sell. The idea behind the trailer would like a walk in freezer on wheels. Yes, it would need a genny for over the road travel or overnight stops. Until she can get one, perhaps some coolers with dry ice might work.
