Re: [MBZ] Mini splits
From what I can tell those DIY units have special quick connect fittings and are ready to go. They are also more expensive. The others that have regular flair fittings require a vacuum to be pulled (no big deal) but are quite a bit cheaper. Research also seems to indicate all the brands are made by about 2 different companies in China. Gree might be one of the companies that make many of them sold under different brands. Been thinking about doing a multiple zone setup out in the shop. My insulation guys, who put two different mini-splits in for me use a brand called “Gree.” They have been using them for some time, according to the owner, and have been very pleased with them. That said, when I was researching a mini-split for the FL garage I was going to DIY and pretty much settled on the “MR. COOL” brand, which you can find all over the place. Anyone got any recommendations on mini splits? Looking to DIY. Should not be too difficult I would not think. What the the line sets on these? Are they universal or brand specific? Most of the kits I see come with 12-15' line sets. If FMV is clearly more than policy limits, keep the car and accept a check for the policy limit. Then prepare to give a frame shop $500-1000 to put it on the rack and stretch it back into place. Re: [MBZ] Perhaps the tornado was closer to Okie Acres than I thought
I have rented a good-sized wood chipper a few times. They have safety features to mostly keep a user from killing zitselves but you need to be aware and cautious. The ones I rented can do a 4” branch. Engine driven. Loud as hell and stuff can get thrown ar, wear noise and eye protection. They grind stuff up pretty well so vines and stuff emerge fairly pulverized. If you rent one check the chopper wheel first to make sure the blade is sharp. I got one once and the blade had no edge whatsoever and wouldn’t work and kept jamming. Rather than drag it back to the rental place I took off the blade and put it on the bench grinder and got it working great. --FT Sent from iFōn > On May 9, 2024, at 10:44 AM, Andrew Strasfogel via Mercedes > wrote: > > As the movie Fargo shows, wood chippers are for more than just wood. > >> On Wed, May 8, 2024 at 11:58 PM Allan Streib via Mercedes < >> mercedes@okiebenz.com> wrote: >> >> By the way, where I live I just burn limbs and other yard waste from time >> to time as it accumulates, but have wondered about what to do if I really >> wanted to clear out some substantial areas.
