I would not mind finding an 87 wagon. I guy I know will sell me his for 3k but its not quite as nice as yours. His as like 320k on it, new #22 head etc. John Robbins wrote: Joe Knight wrote: Excellent score, John! Was it part of an estate sale or what? What of the other 2 examples in that 1st pic? Got lucky & found a factory hitch with electrics on german ebay. Buddy was bringing in some vehicles & parts at about that time so I hitched a ride for it in his container. The hitches turn up fairly regularly over there but the electrics are a bit more of a poser; lots of sedan harnesses but very few for wagons. -joe

Nice wagon. It's a dead ringer for mine except my interior is a lighter beige Tex. Not to brag or anything but I got mine from Jeff Zedic for $2400. I added some foam inserts from MB to the front seats to stiffenen them up a bit. Worked well. Joe did that as well I believe. I saw a factory hitch on Ebay.de the other day for 100 Euro. Ralph W. Guess the idea is that microscopic bits of iron will stick there even if they would pass through the filter. Wouldn't do much for other metals, e.g. bronze bearings. Not sure if there's a significant benefit to this, really. Allan -- 1983 300D 1966 230
Re: [MBZ] Gotta brag -- Check out my $3200 '87 300TDT
Check the flex discs on the drive shaft and the transmission mount too. I just changed those on my 87SDL. Was able to remove the center mount to get enough play to get the drive shaft off - but make sure it does not separate at the middle, or mark it so you can put it back the way it was. I've been told it is balanced as a unit. If the transmission fluid is very bad, I suggest doing a few changes with cheap ATF until it runs clear before filling with synthetic. Be sure to drain the Torque converter in the process. Put some magnets in the pan to attract the little suspended metal bits. They will come out covered with black slimy gunk. Wipe them off and put them back each fluid change. -Dave Walton On 5/16/07, John Robbins <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: dave walton wrote: > Nice purchase. > You might want to replace the close-up of the IP with a new once once the > red-dyed tax-exempt fuel has worked it's way out of the system. > Get rid of the green antifreeze ASAP.
