Re: [MBZ] OT the Hottest VP
Actually yeah, Fey would. But I really think Gasteyer would be perfect for it. I bet SNL will have Fey do it, (does she do things like that? Or is she above it now?). But a guest appearance from Gasteyer would be choice. Anyway, I dont think Palen will still be in the news much beyond November, sadly. I see that last night on Conan both he and his guest Tim Gunn, of all people, acknowledged that she was attractive. I also heard that she was runner up Ms. Alaska? She could stand to lose a bit of junk from the trunk, but still. Also heard someone on TV mention a thought I had previously about the whole naughty librarian look she sports. Also, you know who would do an excellent impression of her? Anna Gasteyer formerly of Saturday Night Live. Re: [MBZ] OT the Hottest VP
Cause otherwise people won't have kids and there won't be anyone to wipe your bottom when you are in a nursing home. Of course plan B is to import workers but then you probably don't like that idea either. More seriously though, the notion of subsidizing having kids is a example of a modern society, which recognizes that women give up work/financial independence to have children. This puts them at a financial disadvantage. You have to imagine what would the situation be if men did the child popping out thingy? I dare say the tax credits would be a lot higher and there would be 5 years of fully paid maternity leave and a truckload of other goodies for the expecting daddy. Look I don't particularly like having my taxes go to wasters who are a burden on society but I don't consider the future generation to be in this category. We have to face up to the fact that the first world birth rate is declining because of changes in the structure of society. Re: [MBZ] OT the Hottest VP - world population
The estimate of the terminal population of the earth is 17 billion, though reaching the point at which births and deaths balance might not be possible with the planet's resources. ZPG today would result in another couple of billion population due to the high number of children in third world countries. We are at a point now when every person on earth would fit into the state of Texas with a bit over 1,000 sq ft each [I haven't done the math in several years, but that should be about right today], with the rest of the planet empty. It isn't total population but a poor distribution pattern and bad waste disposal and inadequate water and food distribution. I don't know - perhaps that is the same thing, except when you look at it like that it does provide some perspective on being able to do something about it. If China can hit near ZPG - I'd have never believed it, though I am not crazy about their methods - the rest of us should be able to tackle the problems we have. My 2 cents.
