Re: [MBZ] OT How far can a Nissan Murano go with no coolant?
If engines are still similar to the V6 in my '04 Frontier, the oil capacity is only a bit over 3 quarts. Not a lot iof safety buffer if you get low. No, after I changed solenoids and fluid it was sorta OK but still inop. I have a sister in law who is on their second Murano. Although I don’t know what year their first one was, I do know they put several hundred thousand miles on it without issues. Don’t know a thing about them, other than the weird convertible variant they came out with was one of the fugliest things I think I’ve ever seen. -D > On Mar 25, 2022, at 9:44 PM, Dimitri Seretakis via Mercedes > wrote: > > A friend’s wife has a murano. Re: [MBZ] OT How far can a Nissan Murano go with no coolant?
Couple weeks ago I see a Challenger in the mirror trailing a cloud. Not a vision obscuring cloud, but still one that I noticed while it was a good bit behind me. Killed the fan and put the heater in recirc to lessen the burning oil smell as it went by. Was surprised to find that the smoke didn't seem to be coming from the exhaust outlets, and that it smelled exactly like a cutoff wheel cutting steel, not like burning oil. Couple miles later, I see...a Challenger parked on the shoulder. A story from the 1980s: Car on the ramp in front of me has a wildly wobbling driver's front wheel. Was going to pull up alongside her and try to communicate once we hit the freeway, but I was going 65 in a 55 and she outran me. She didn't make it a mile on the freeway. Wheel went rolling down the median, and the brake disk threw sparks on the concrete every time she touched the brakes. It seemed to stay just above the road as long as she didn't brake. IIRC it was FWD, like a Citation or something. No, I didn't stop. ___ http://www.okiebenz.com To search list archives http://www.okiebenz.com/archive/ To Unsubscribe or change delivery options go to: http://mail.okiebenz.com/mailman/listinfo/mercedes_okiebenz.com

Re: [MBZ] OT How far can a Nissan Murano go with no coolant?
One of my high school English teachers told the story about how when she got her first car nobody ever told her she needed to check the oil so she drove it until it ran out of oil and the engine locked up. Her second car she checked the oil religiously and added every time it needed but nobody ever told her she needed to CHANGE the oil so that one locked up too. I asked her "Why didn't you ever read the manual?" She didn't like that... -Curt On Friday, March 25, 2022, 04:30:37 PM EDT, Randy Bennell via Mercedes wrote: That sounds like the joke that I read on the net a few days ago.
