Re: [MMouse]: boring get up kids
In a message dated 6/23/00 1:20:35 PM Mountain Daylight Time, [EMAIL PROTECTED] writes: because the Get Up kids are really boring well that is quite a narrow minded thing to say...if you have ever heard the Get Up Kids you would know that they have all kinds of songs and are in many ways very entertaining. Actually, they aren't all that different than Weezer when it comes down to it. I still wouldn't put them in the same category, but I dont think such a comment was called for... Maybe its just me, but that kinda pissed me off. thanks *j* boulder co ...forgive me for running off to find the one thing I had to do
Re: [MMouse]: RE: MA Vinyl??etc
I got it (already?) on sale for $12.99 here...at a Warehouse music store on my break from work. Pretty good price I thought. *J* Boulder Colorado [EMAIL PROTECTED] and i could go away and you could wish that I'd stayed or just stayed gone
Re: [MMouse]: az heat
There is no music scene in Breckenridge...the closest is Denver and or Boulder...about an hour and a half either way. The town in itself is really cool and a great place to live, but as far as a music scene goes, they might have a music store that sells records... jae
Re: [MMouse]: whenever you see fit
you dont hear Isaac's voice in the song? its quite distinct *j*
Re: [MMouse]: cherry coke vs. regular coke.
I like vanilla coke the most *j*
[MMouse]: bad bad news for bright eyes fans
I just got off of the phone with radio 1190 (303 492 1190) and the news is that someone got food poisoning and there will be NO show tomorrow night at the 15th st tavern. It is also assumed that there will be no show tonight at 156. This is the info that I got, she told me that if I was in town anyway just to stop by 156 tonight and see, but chances are slim. Give them a call and if anyone hears any more info let me know. *j* boulder colorado [EMAIL PROTECTED]
[MMouse]: everyone loves a good playboy
just wanted to mention that there is even a plug for MM in the new issue of playboy... I dont know about this kids. here we go- *j* boulder colorado
Re: [MMouse]: Guess no one read my info... sniffle
that link doesnt work
Re: [MMouse]: e-mail of silence for Kurt.
sometimes he even spelled it Curt *j*
Re: [MMouse]: gotta quick question...
the denver show was for the 3rd and I just asked this question, and got a resounding "that was just a rumor" so I guess the answer is no *j* boulder co
Re: [MMouse]: Website Story
What the hell is that story on www.modestmousemusic.com all about? i am so confused *j* boulder colorado [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Re: [MMouse]: bright eyes
i dont think that bright eyes and quasi sound anything alike. maybe thats just me. janet, however, is hot. *j* boulder colorado [EMAIL PROTECTED] - i thought about my true love, the one i really need with eyes that burn so bright they make me pure -
[MMouse]: like a secret
So, can anyone tell me if this is just a rumor or if it will actually happen...I have heard a whole lotta both recently- Are Modest Mouse and Built to Spill going to play together at the Bluebird in Denver on May 3rd? And also...Why did DNSS cancel their show here? One more thing...what is this rumored Halo Benders show at the Raven? (last one) did anyone see the Pinehurst kids on Thursday? Please dont tell me things I dont want to hear... *j* Boulder Colorado [EMAIL PROTECTED] -- you wanna go for some ice cream? --
[MMouse]: mm and K
K doesnt just sell things that have been put out under their label, they also distribute. I am willing to bet that what you saw will indeed be the album released on Epic, but avalible to purchase thru K. Alot of record labels do this, so that is my guess... *j* boulder, co [EMAIL PROTECTED] ***you gave your love to me softly***
[MMouse]: confused....
Another interesting topic is bands that have done the exact opposite of sell-out...Branch off in musical directions against the grain of popular culture despite the threat of million dollar losses. Radiohead comes to mind. No Doubt too. Even Rage. Nothing but respect for those bands, although I don't like No Doubt or Rage. I dont think I quite understand what you mean by "going against the grain of popular culture." I dont see anything unique about what No Doubt or Rage have done. I think Gwen is one of the trendiest people around. Maybe I just dont get it, but I have to say that I disagree with you...I respect your opinion, but I still disagree. *jae* boulder, colorado [EMAIL PROTECTED]
[MMouse]: boys boys boys
Could someone please tell me (I know I should have been paying better attention) what the address to the MM boys page is? have there been any updates to either page recently? thank you *jae* [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Re: [MMouse]: built to spill/marine research
The Marine Research/ Built to Spill 7inch is out on K, and has been for quite some time. *j* Boulder, Colorado
Re: [MMouse]: eyes so bright
they are on Saddle Creek Records www.saddle-creek.com its really nice *j*
[MMouse]: Conor
Yea, Park Ave is a really awesome band too...they broke up for a while, but then another label found their stuff and they did put out a full LP just recently. I am very excited to hear more from them. Conor is actually in a lot of the saddlecreek bands. The faint is another band off that label that I really enjoy...if you listen carefully I bet you will recognize that voice as well...they have a new LP out too... *j* "...I never said I'd die for love... ...but I would..."
[MMouse]: Bright Eyes update
it is from "June on the west coast" a Bright Eyes song on Letting off the Happiness. It is absolutely great. The whole song will amaze you. *j* *I thought about my true love, the one I really need, with eyes that burn so bright they make me pure...I long to be with you...*
[MMouse]: colorado
in case you forgot, I too am from colorado. If you look closely at the poll. you will see that little #1 by colorado. thank you, *j* Oops, Nirra, I forgot to respond, I'm from Colorado, and apparently am the only such person on the list.
[MMouse]: funny thing continued
not only did they play flaming lips, but if you would have stayed for a couple more minutes you would have heard some Built To Spill. I was kinda disturbed. Oh well, I guess it was nice to listen to. *j* ...i drink to stay warm and to kill selected memories... Funny thing, fyi: I was looking through the monotonous clothing at the American Eagle Outfitters at a local mall today and then all of a sudden, after some Matchbox 20 song... low and behold, Buggin' by the Flaming Lips starting playing.
[MMouse]: give me some credit
i made a point not to ignore lauren...i answered promptly and truthfully. i like lauren. *jae*
[MMouse]: damn, whos pagin' me now?
does anyone know which song the line "the smell of summer can make me fall in love" is in? i am dying to know. thanks. ~lauren it is a horrible shame that you dont know what song this is from. its called (get ready for a shock) "Summer." if you dont have the fruit album, you are missing out on some damn good shit. love- *j* ...are you gonna be your own goddamn best friend?...
[MMouse]: pavement is rad
...eventhough i don't condone all this straying from Modest Mouse discussionI do have a comment on the new pavement album--- s.m. is so cute ...sure i sound like i'm 15, but it's true *j*
