Hey Sasha - Thanks for mentioning this. We started running MySQL 3.23.33 on a 2.2.14 kernel (RH 6.2) about six months ago. Almost immediately we started experiencing table corruption. We have consistently been having 2 or 3 tables get corrupted a month ever since. I've been scratching my head trying to figure out what the heck I've been doing wrong or what has been the cause, but I think you just answered my question. Looks like I'll be upgrading my kernel soon! Glad to hear the confirmation from another user. Install error
Using RH 7 after a Plain setup I tried to install the rpm's version 37 through 39 with the same error. Not a valid RPM. I tried both Gnome RPM and the command line with the same results. The tar file gave me Child - Error unrecoverable - exiting now.I moved the files and tried again same results so it's not permisions. I thought mabey my install was corrupte, plus I am bored, and reinstalled RH7, and got the same errors.I never had any issues before on this box with RH7 and MySQL. I tried other RPM's I needed for this LAMP install, PHP , Apache and they installed fine, but I need MySQL installed first so I'll redo them later. you using 7.0 or 7.1. make install error 1
I have encountered many problems during the downloading, unpacking and installating of MySQL, some of my own making and some that I can't determine. After two days of searching in the Documentation at mysql.com and reading of the Archival files, I turn to you, since I cannot find an answer to my problem. I am loading 'source distribution' version mysql-3.23.38 for Solaris 2.7. I have ran 'configure' and 'make'. I was in the process of running 'make install' when I received the following message: make[2]: *** [install-benchSCRIPTS] Error 1 make[2]: Leaving directory `/usr2/mysql/mysql-3.23.38/sql-bench' make[1]: *** [install-am] Error 2 make[1]: Leaving directory `/usr2/mysql/mysql-3.23.38/sql-bench' make: *** [install-recursive] Error 1 I read where error messages are located in the 'hostname'.err file. No file was created for this error. Now the questions: 1) Where do I find an error log that defines these Error 1 and Error 2 messages? 2) Since I would like to run benchmark testing, how do I correct these errors? 3) I am not one that likes to bug others, outside of the Archives, Documentation and email lists, is there any other area I can use as resource (an FAQ page, perhaps)?
