I'm betting there's something (module, patch, etc) that's not included in that kernel that I need. I've got a 500 and a 250 in the same machine running ivtv 0.3.2j. I'm having some tuner issues, but I don't think its related to the 250/500 mix. I have sucessfully gotten s-video/composite working from both the 250 and the 500. The driver auto-detects them fine. One little trick I learned: If something doesn't work right with a driver load, simply unloading and reloading the drivers doesn't work. In fact, just rebooting the box won't work either. You need to do a full power down (to completey reset the PVR cards), otherwise the drivers continue to mis-detect the card and/or fail to initialize it. This comes from spending hours and many reboots trying to get something to work, but failing and going to bed. The first person up in the moring discovered the myth system not working, killed power to the box, booted it back up, and things worked again. --Jim ___ mythtv-users mailing list mythtv-users@mythtv.org http://mythtv.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/mythtv-users

There are a few of us who have been working on the 500 and 150 quite a bit of late on the ivtv-dev list, and we now have a patch in place so it loads on 4kstacks kernels (very relevant for FC2/3 users, not so much for other distros), tveeprom patches that auto-detect everything on these cards, and nearly full auto-configuration, so they're not far off from plug and play. The next ivtv dev release (0.3.2h) should include all these bits. I'm moving my 150 into production use this week (in a FC3 box), while still testing some things on my 500 (which is currently in a Debian box w/a 2.6.11 kernel + kraxel patches) with respect to the video4linux tveeprom and tuner. I tried your new patch (grabbed it off itvt-devel). I'm still getting static on the tuners. For me, the card shows up as video0 and video1, I'm setting video0 with ivtvctl to input 6 and video1 to input 7. I'm just not having any luck. Is there some kernel patch I need or anything else I need to do other than apply this to the ivtv snapshot and compile? -Todd -Original Message- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Jarod Wilson Sent: Saturday, February 26, 2005 9:53 PM To: Discussion about mythtv Subject: Re: [mythtv-users] Hauppauge WINTV-PVR-500MCE On Saturday 26 February 2005 17:19, Jarod Wilson wrote: > On Saturday 26 February 2005 16:28, Todd Tidwell wrote: > > Excellent! The latest v4l patch for 2.6.11-rc4 seems to cause some major issues for ivtv. I had my 150MCE getting perfect audio and video across the entire channel range with a 2.6.10 kernel, then decided to bump to 2.6.11-rc4 to craft the new tuner def. No more working 150MCE tuner and no go on the 500 either. Back to patching 2.6.10 tomorrow... -- Jarod Wilson [EMAIL PROTECTED] Got a question?
