 Couple of questions:

 1. What does your local.cf look like in /etc/mail/spamassassin?
 2. Are you using bayes?
 3. Do you have auto_learn turned on?
 4. What rule sets are you using in /etc/mail/spamassassin?
 5. Are you using network checks, razor, pyzor, DCC, SURBL's?
 6. How are you calling spamassassin? Do you have filters setup in Kmail?
 Are you running spamd?

Hmm, right, er, most of those questions will take a while to find out.
However, I initally was pointed out the following URL and followed it's

If you could do an automatic full install it would be a mess. Some of the
packages available do not play well with others as they are hardware
specific . If you tick the select individual packages and then on the next
screen click on the icon that looks like two arrows chasing each other in a
circle, you will have a choice of adding several thousand packages. Although
the long list of library packages can be skipped cause they auto select for
the other packages you need them for. This list has bind and rpmrebuild all
available for the install. Someone on the list knows how to make an install
cd to slip into other comps to get the same packages? It used to be a choice
but not anymore, on the initial installation. HTH

For a newbies '2 cents' worth, why not select all options when prompted
for type of 'box' you are running. ie. Workstation, Server, etc
That way you will get installed at least one of each type of app without
it doubling up. [ie. one mail server, one firewall, etc.] Or is this
option no longer available?

What exactly are you looking for? There is built in auto-completion in
Bash already. Type part of a command, file name, or directory name, and
hit Tab. It will complete the entry to the point where you have more
then one choice. Hit Tab again to see the options, or type the next
letter and hit Tab again.

If you want to see a LONG list, hit Tab twice at the command prompt,
before typing anything.

[newbie] setting up midi

Hi folks!

Can anyone here reffer some good text on setting up midi?
I have an integrated sound card (VIA's AC97 Audio Controller). I've tried

TSE3 error detected: Failed to create the MIDI scheduler
Running playmidi gave that there's no /dev/sequencer (I believe TSE3 is a
sequencer).
When I've tried KMid it showed that there's no midi map.

What I'd like to do is simply set up some midi sequencer...

[newbie] Problem after installation of gtk2-devel

2004-08-11 Thread Paul Smith
Dear All
I have just installed gtk2-devel from the Cooker. However, after that,
all programs that use GTK look uglier. How to repair it? I have already done

urpme gtk2-devel
but I get:
[EMAIL PROTECTED] xchat-2.1.1]# urpme gtk2-devel
unknown package: gtk2-devel
[EMAIL PROTECTED] xchat-2.1.1]#
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance,
Paul

That was solved with the installation of the package galaxy-gnome.

there somebody experiences the same problem? I have google'd the Mandrake
mailinglist archives, but no luck. Any suggestion will be greatly
 appreciated. Many thanks.

If I had to make a guess, I would say that you are having problems with either
ACPI or lack of ACPI on the box. If you currently have apm installed, you
might want to try to use acpi to see if that works better. If you are
currently using acpi, you might want to remove it and switch to apm.

Also, if you have acpi=ht on your lilo command line, try changing it to remove
acpi=ht altogether and see if your machine starts to reboot, then check other
functionality to see if there are problems. It could be that acpi works
correctly for your box but IIRC, Mandrake defaults to not enabling it.

Thanks for the info.

Since I'm knee deep in a beta version of Mandrake I think I'll hold off on

Maybe I'll park it on a few customers' machines when I assemble and load them.

[newbie] Scream!

2004-08-11 Thread SME Server Admin
There are some days I want to scream at this setup!

I've got Mandrake 10 and Windows XP

They'd both been rebooted recently, and setup the shares again in
LinNeighbourhood. Fine. Linux saw the XP drives, so I copied a file over,
checked, it was there.

So I moved 400mb of documents and some mp3s to go for backing up.

The 400mb files didnt make it Linux XP but the other files did ?!!

Since tried another copy and it worked fine.

Scream! I've had enough. I'm going to bed... And I'm
going to deprive these machiens of power tonight as punishment. As it is even
now Kontact locks the machine up when running spam assassin to capture 1/4 of
the spam coming in.

Thanks G** I don't work with computers for a living!!!
