Thanks for that link - hadn't seen it and will read.

Not doing anything with scanner and camera at present. Want to familiarise
myself with Mandrake better, first. Trying to work my way through the
programmes. Printed a photo from a CD in Gimp today and very pleased with
the result. Will post later about them.

Thanks anyway

What are you trying to do?
If you wish to view the media you have available using urpmi then issue
the following:

# urpmq --list-media
If you get back that urpmq is not a command then you have yet to
complete your urpmi installation.

Get the urpm.. tool working and there'll be not stopping you.

Your welcome, after I sent it I thought it was either to simple or to harsh
sounding, and I did not mean for it to be either. Once you get the hang of
all this you will find that it is much more satisfying because you have
control and can do as you want with your computer and know why things work

Neither my scanner nor digital camera are supported so may still use Windows

When getting urpmi updates from easyurpmi.zarb.org, I notice that although I've

I'm posting from webmail, which doesn't allow me to change the reply to

Don't know if you use plf or eslrahc. I'd recommend Charles' site for
sure: urpmi.addmedia eslrahc http://www.eslrahc.com/10.1/ with hdlist.cz

Good luck.

 Try http://urpmi-addmedia.org

Thanks Dennis

I was thinking there had to be another site because they called it a
mirror - just didn't know how to find out what site they mirrored.

easyurpmi website is no longer mirrored here.
They are having to many issues and the hassle isn't worth it even
after I complain and ask for a better way to sync.

just seen it myself and am trying to update 10.0 official to
10.1 official. Will try browsing the mirror I am setup for on 10.0
and attempt to setup those sources manually for 10.1 but does
 anybody have a easier solution?

anybody here use mirror.cs.wisc.edu for their source that can
confirm this is the 10.1 main source for example?

 ftp://mirror.cs.wisc.edu/pub/mirrors/linux/Mandrakelinux/official/10.
 1/ i586/media/main

the main source address for 10.0 was the same for 10.1 up to i586,
then it appears to change after that.

  Try this for main:

 urpmi.addmedia contrib
