For MDK 9.0 it's here: ftp://csociety-ftp.ecn.purdue.edu/pub/Mandrake/9.0/contrib/RPMS/ Just scroll down till you find it, download and install with rpm -ivh kvirc*.rpm For MDK 9.1 it's here: ftp://csociety-ftp.ecn.purdue.edu/pub/Mandrake/9.1/contrib/RPMS/ Just do the same as above. Then you might want to go to the plf site below and make sure your contrib source is configured properly. Sure Gary, Here's the URL: http://www.kvirc.net/ to read up on it. I chose the download section on the top of the page on the menu, that page it shows locations in several countries. I went to the bottom of that page and chose the section where there are older KVIrc, it took me to the KVIrc directory at the following URL where I chose the 2.0.0 directory, and below that source and downloaded it directly from KVIrc instead of one of the mirrors. ftp://ftp.kvirc.net/kvirc/ Hope that helps, Bambi Gary wrote: Hi Fran, On Sunday, June 11, 2000, 12:01:55 PM, you hammered out in part about "[newbie] KVirc (Was: Wine problems)": FP Last night I downloaded and 'made' the KVIrc 2. Re: [newbie] KVirc (Was: Wine problems)
OK...the new KVIrc version 2 is awesome! Now how did I get it to run, you may ask. I had the same problems everyone else had when I tried to install the rpm. Well, I went and got the QT2.1.1 and upgraded my existing QT2. Then I got the RPM and using gnorpm I installed it. Same problem as everyone elsedoesn't work. I Checked the configure and it showed the QT2 directories in the wrong place I corrected it in hopes it would re-read it the next load and then run. No go. I uninstalled the rpm and went back to the site and got the tar.gz instead...since pathing was the problem I hoped I could temporarily set my QTDIR and create a version specific to my machines configuration. It worked! And it is awesome. I am online in KVIrc 2 as we speak! Maybe this will work for the rest of you as well. Read the instructions for the installation of the tar.gz on the web site ...that really helped alot. Although I am using Bash and I set the QTDIR slightly differently then they suggested.
