At that point it had its own branding, which you can see at http://www.openoffice.org. The project has come over to Apache, along with the trademarks and websites. We need to adapt it to Apache branding practices, which means we it must be called Apache . We voted to call it Apache OpenOffice (dropping the ".org" in the name) You can see the primary Apache branding elements on the http://www.apache.org website. The goal -- perhaps unstated -- was to update the existing OpenOffice.org logo to the new name and add a hint of Apache-ness to it. And as a follow up to that new branding, generate a set variations of that for the website, as well as special variations for use by 3rd parties to express support for the product, perhaps a "get Apache OpenOffice" or "Download Apache OpenOffice" or similar. So, the move to Apache has driven this change, and compliance with Apache branding guidelines would be one measure of success. As Kay said, evolution over revolution is another part. I don't think we're looking for a radically different logo from predecessor versions of OpenOffice. -Rob > Is there a wiki page that captures this information? I believe he, maybe someone else, has started putting together some wiki pages covering a branding language - that needs to be expanded most likely. Dave and Drew, Hey there, my name is Kevin and I'm new to the effort. I'll like to contribute to the branding, UI styling and user experience moving forward. I've taken a look at the logos proposal pages, and their are some great elements. I'm having a hard time selecting which is most appropriate because I'm unclear on the design brief. In other words, what is the message? what are the requirements? and ultimately? what are the criteria for success for the logo elements. Is there a wiki page that captures this information? If not, could you share your thoughts? Set all links for the graphics, license, contact, updated page meta-information. Added a couple of links just above the CSE input box: one for the documentation section on the wiki, the mailing list overview page and what I'm assuming is the quasi-official (is it?) Google+ page for Apache OpenOffice. Not sure these should be here or if this is exactly the best links, really looking for feedback here - but not to waist to much time on it, we can adjust this stuff easily enough over time IMO.. The proposed replacement can be reviewed at: http://baseanswers.com/temp/index_test.html @Raphael - To get it on the VM I suppose the easiest (for me for sure :) and fastest way is, just put everything in an archive file and send it to you via email? otherwise - off to point to this in a forum post also. (1) I love the Google search! (2) Consider wrapping the topnava div within a topbara div. (3) The Get it here! logo is great but doesn't yet link to anywhere. I really want to change the logo on www.openoffice.org. Do you have a candidate? Let's do it tomorrow. Regards, Dave > > //drew > >

Re: [FORUMS] landing page...
Hi Drew, In your copy of ooo.css remove the height parameter on line 433 or change it to 100px. #ooo-logo { height: 104px; padding-top: 4px; padding-left: 8px; } If you do that the logo will be at its natural size and be sharpest. Ah - well, I've actually got a static html page that could be a replacement, I think pretty much ready to go.
