Re: [otrs] Time Accounting leave hours

2015-01-05 Thread Carlos Rodríguez
Hi Paolo:

Well for each day you can specify also if you want to mark it as Vacation, sick
or overtime leave, mass entry is if you want to do it for more than 1 day. A
limitation of TimeAccounting in its current state is that it marks the complete
day to leave, there is currently no possibility to leave for some hours/minutes
per day.

Hi Winter,

The Time Accounting module can be used to keep track of how many hours
an agent worked. This is NOT integrated with OTRS tickets.

Currently there is no time accounting reporting available. You could
write your own report module for the stats area or submit a feature
request or (if you require urgent assistance) ask for commercial OTRS
support - e.g. at the companies maintaining the TimeAccounting package.

Re: [otrs] Time accounting module

2009-09-16 Thread Marco Vannini
Hi,
I can tell you that we have used for a while this module that is very
interesting but unfortunally is not directly related to agent and ticket.
Let me try to eplain this. After installation you are able to define
projects and agent assigned to those with total hour per week/month (I don't
remember well because then we have removed having not satisfied our manager
that prefere to use an excel to trace this information), hour of holiday and
so on. Than you could let mandatory compilation of time accounting to agent
that they have to insert, at your decided time fragmentation, what they have
done. At the end you can have a report by agent or by project.

Hope it was a shorten full description.

Maybe the latest version solves this problem?!

and website but have been unable to find a way to do this.

We need exactly the same thing and have been equally surprised not
to be able to find such a basic report in OTRS already. I have
been using a complex SQL query in the MySQL shell to extract a
monthly table of time used by ticket for each customer, and I can
show you the SQL for this if you'd like to try doing the same.
It's a rather manual process though. :-(

That would be great if you could share your solution. Right now it
appears to be the only way to do it. Rather unfortunate as the rest
of the OTRS system handles our needs quite nicely.

Oops, I've not been checking this list for a while, sorry.

Log into your OTRS box and use the mysql shell to talk SQL to the
database directly like so:

mysql -D otrs -u otrs -p
Enter password:

The -D option specifies the name of the database, the -u is the name
of the user, and -p means to prompt for the password. The correct
values for all these can be found in the /opt/otrs/Kernel/Config.pm
file if you've forgotten them.

Then at the mysql prompt enter the SQL query. I suggest you
cut'n'paste my example below into a text editor and tidy it up for
your own purposes, then paste the result into the mysql shell.

Now, in our case, we decided to charge customers each month by how
much agent time they used in that month, *regardless* of whether the
ticket was opened or closed in the current month. This seemed
altogether more manageable than trying to keep track of whether
tickets were closed, and also avoids the issue of having to wait for
a long-running issue/ticket to be closed before getting any money for
(especially when customers can reopen a ticket simply by sending
another email and could keep that going month after month if it were
a regular request).

This first SQL query simply lists how much time each customer (that
used *any* time) has used in the specified time period in a simple
two column table:

select
case when company.name is null then ticket.customer_id else
company.name end company,

sum(time.time_unit) mins
from time_accounting time
left join ticket
on time.ticket_id = ticket.id
left join customer_user cust
on ticket.customer_user_id = cust.login
left join customer_company company
on cust.customer_id = company.customer_id
where (company.name is null or company.name != 'Intern')
and time.create_time = '2008-04' and time.create_time '2008-05'
group by company
order by company;

Each month we've been running that same query for the month just
ended by changing the start and end dates (2008-04 and 2008-05 in
this case, ie. all of April). You may be able to tidy it up, for
instance Intern was a dummy company we set up for internal testing,
and companies with null names probably ought not to exist but in our
first fumblings this was unfortunately common.

This second query is the main one for listing time spent handling
each ticket, and it requires more explanation (see below):

select
case when cust.first_name is null then '' else cust.first_name end
first_name,
case when cust.last_name is null then '' else cust.last_name end
last_name,
case when company.name is null then ticket.customer_id else
company.name end company,

ticket.tn ticket,
left(ticket.title,60) ticket_title,
time.time_unit mins
from time_accounting time
left join ticket
on time.ticket_id = ticket.id
left join customer_user cust
on ticket.customer_user_id = cust.login
left join customer_company company
on cust.customer_id = company.customer_id
where (company.name is null or company.name != 'Intern')
and time.create_time = '2008-04' and time.create_time '2008-05'
group by ticket.tn
order by company, time.create_time;

This produces a six column table that's 144 chars wide in my terminal
window, although yours may differ depending on your data.
Fortunately, my terminal emulator allows me to reduce the font size
until this becomes readable. (I did tell you this was a nasty hack
didn't I?) The number 60 in left(ticket.title,60) truncates the
ticket title to a maximum length of 60 characters because people do
silly things like pasting long URLs into email subject lines. You
could reduce this number to make the table less wide.

The mins column is the total number of minutes spent on each ticket
during the period specified (in this case the month of April). If a
ticket spans across multiple months, only the time from this period
is included in the table, which is what we wanted for billing. I hope
that suffices for your purposes until someone comes up with a better
way.

I do not have any familiarity with Perl so coding my own solution is not
an option for me. Can anyone provide any further information regarding time
 accounting?

Well, I am comfortable using Perl (it was one of the things that attracted
us to OTRS) but we've only recently started using OTRS and there's a lot to
learn about the way it is internally structured before writing our own
extensions will become feasible. This is eventually what we will have to do,
of course, if there really is no existing way to get the monthly time

There's no config option or something like that. This is not possible
without modifying the code. So you probably need a custom made
timeaccounting package.

2007-01-22 Thread Beugen, Peter van
I think this will do:

SELECT
t.create_by,
u.first_name,
u.last_name,
Sum(t.time_unit)
FROM
time_accounting AS t
Left Join system_user AS u ON t.create_by = u.id WHERE
year(t.create_time) = '2006'
GROUP BY
t.create_by

It will give you userid, firtstname, lastname, total work-units In 2006

Custom the query yourself or mail me if you need any more help

Onderwerp: [otrs] Time Accounting report

Hello,

I use OTRS 2.1.4 on SuSE 10.2 and I want to create a report which
calculates work units spent by agents working on tickets with particular
customerID during given month. Is it possible to create such report
using report creation wizard or I have to do additional coding? In case
I have to do some coding what is the way to integrate it with OTRS - I
checked developer documentation, but it seems that there are some
differences between 2.0 and 2.1 versions (Only 2.0 is available on the
web site).

Thank you very much

Also , will there be an option to specify your own valid criteria , by

Does anyone know how to fill the time_unit text entry
field with a default value? I'll be setting the field to be mandatory soon
and it would be a real pain in the neck if you had to click in the field every
time (even if closing a ticket just after you replied or the
like).
I'd just like it to default to zero
and the agent can change it if it's a billable action (closing a ticket in and
of itself doesn't really take up enough time to count as a billable

Re: [otrs] Time Accounting

2005-02-04 Thread Harald Paterek
I am using this. We are using minutes. But you can use whatever you
like. Our time registration package uses 15 minutes as the smallest
resolution, so you could use that as your work unit. I am using the time
accounting to fill in the time registration at the end of the week. I
use this query on the database for that.

select
s.login,date_format(t.create_time,'%v-%x'),date_format(t.create_time,'%a
%d %b %y'), ti.customer_user_id, a.a_subject, t.time_unit, ti.tn,
a.a_body from system_user s, time_accounting t, article a, ticket ti
where t.create_by=s.id and t.article_id=a.id and t.ticket_id=ti.id and
date_format(t.create_time,'%v-%x')='02-2005'
ORDER BY s.login, t.create_time

I have not figured out how to build this query into the stats interface
so that I can select the week I want to see the time for.

RE: [otrs] Time Accounting

2005-02-04 Thread Pete McDonnell
Thanks Harald! As mentioned before, I'd prefer to store the units as hours,
and have changed the time_unit field in the time_accounting table to
fload(4,2) as per the note in the TODO file. But alas the fractional time
unit entered in the interface winds up getting stored as an integer. I
think there must be a variable in the code somewhere declared as an integer
which is killing the decimal places before they reach the database. I'm
having trouble locating it as I'm not a programmer and completely foreign to
perl.

So I changed the time_accounting.time_unit field to
decimal(4,2) and added the following to Kernel/Config.pm:
  $Self-{FrontendNeedAccountedTime} = 1;
  $Self-{TimeUnits} = ' (hours)';
The time is only getting recorded as an integer
 still though.
IE if I enter 0.25 for the time unit field on a reply 0.00
gets stored in the DB. If I enter 1.25 1.00 gets
 stored in the DB.
What else do I need to change? On my live 1.3.1 I
 only changed
the time_accounting.time_unit field to decimal(4,2) and it
stores the time properly. I did not modify the
 Config.pm with
the above two lines on the production server.

I dug up the following from an old 2003 post on
 this list.
Just wondering if it'll still work the same on version
1.3.1 and newer versions? Still haven't upgraded the
  production server to 1.3.2.

RE: [otrs] Time Accounting

2005-02-04 Thread Pete McDonnell
It seems as though if I comment out the following line (3209) in
/opt/otrs/Kernel/System/Ticket.pm that the full value of the ticket gets
stored. I'll have to do some testing to see what happens if I enter a value
with too many decimal places etc.

The line commented out is:

#$TimeUnit = int{$TimeUnit};

Might this break something else that I might not be aware of?

 Subject: Re: [otrs] Time Accounting

In the installation I'm involved in we also use minutes
 (integer) as time units.
At the end of the month a aggregate my units per ticket into
a list and add this as appendix to my invoice, 'cause I get
paid for handling tickets in this case.

So I'm also 'raw' on the database:
 select tn, customer_id, sum (time_unit) from time_accounting
 ta , ticket t where ta.ticket_id = t.id and ta.create_by = 5
 and (ta.create_time =
 '2005-01-01 00:00:00') and (ta.create_time '2005-02-01
 00:00:00') group by tn, customer_id order by tn;

5 is just my user id

Correction, both systems are not displaying the same
behaviour. No fraction of a whole time unit is being stored. The
decimal places are just zeroes.

Not atm, sorry. We're developing a stats module that may later do the
job. Check out the CVS head for a preview.

It's on the todo list for OTRS 1.2. .-)
