Good luck to you, Adrien; I'm guessing those options are somewhere in your
menus, but of course can't say for sure; at any rate, keep us posted and
probably someone can help you through this!

Hi Joe

Firstly, I have written to poikasoft.

Anyway, when I rip a cd, it is creating very small files,

they may be

5 mb in total, I am getting the sound when the cd has been

ripped, it

may 118 mb if I rip the cd with wmp but with easy cd

extracter I am

only getting 5 mb. Very strange. The files are playable.

Adrian,

as tom ses, it sounds like the bit rate, and maybe even the
type of encoding needs to be checked.

I haven't used easy cd extractor since version 11. but in
the output tab you determine what encoding you want, flak,
mp3 ogg wma or whatever. Then you determine the bit rate
along with lots of other peramaters.

You may have an accessibility issue hear, as I say, i have
no experience since the earlier version, but once set up, it
should be a breeze to use.

I hope you get an answer either from the forum or the good
folks on this list who no much more than me.
good luck,

Joe

I don't know Roxio since about version 6. As I recal,

back then, when

you select the rip function, you have several controls

that you can

tab through before starting the rip.
One of those controls was for the format and quality,

i.e.

.wma at various bit rates, .wav, or .mp3 at various

bit

rates.See if

you can find such a control. Also check in the menus

for

option

settings and see if there is such a menu.

To check and see what bit rate the track was ripped

at,

highlight the

ripped track, right click on it and up arrow once to

Properties.

Control tab to the Summary tab and tab or arrow down

through the

various options until you find the bit rate. In the

Summary tab

you'll wat to make sure that the Advanced option is

checked/activated.

If you can describe the process you go through as you

rip

back then, when

One of those controls was for the format and quality,

To check and see what bit rate the track was ripped at,
highlight the

Control tab to the Summary tab and tab or arrow down

I haven't used that for at least 8 or 9 years for the very

Starting with version 7 in the Roxio products you have to do
some mousing around with your screen reader of choice and
click on the correct graphic and then a couple of tree
views will come up, a source and destination that you will
have to select the source disc you want to rip, how you want
to encode it, where you want it to be written to and so on.
you will have to
play with it. it isn't easy, that is why blind people don't
useEasy
creator products much any more. Clifford is right. the Easy

creator product you have is formerly known as Roxio.

2012-01-13 Thread Adrien Collins
Hi garry

It isn't easy creator but easy cd/dvd extracter by
poikasoft, totally different from roxio cd creator, like you
I haven't used that for at least 8 or 9 years for the very
same reasons you mentioned. I have roxio creator on here and
that is quite easy to use.

Re: Further to my cd creator problem

2012-01-13 Thread Gary Schindler
Starting with version 7 in the Roxio products you have to do some mousing
around with your screen reader of choice and click on the correct graphic
and then a couple of tree views will come up, a source and destination that
you will have to select the source disc you want to rip, how you want to
encode it, where you want it to be written to and so on. you will have to
play with it. it isn't easy, that is why blind people don't useEasy
creator products much any more. Clifford is right. the Easy creator product
you have is formerly known as Roxio.

I don't know Roxio since about version 6. As I recal, back
then, when you select the rip function, you have several
controls that you can tab through before starting the rip.
One of those controls was for the format and quality, i.e.
.wma at various bit rates, .wav, or .mp3 at various bit
rates.See if you can find such a control. Also check in the
menus for option settings and see if there is such a menu.

To check and see what bit rate the track was ripped at,
highlight the ripped track, right click on it and up arrow
once to Properties. Control tab to the Summary tab and tab
or arrow down through the various options until you find the
bit rate. In the Summary tab you'll wat to make sure that
the Advanced option is checked/activated.

If you can describe the process you go through as you rip a
disk, it might help us to figure out where in the process
selection of the rip format and quality is located.

Good luck.

Re: Further to my cd creator problem

2012-01-13 Thread Clifford Blackwell
At what bit rate are the files being ripped? My guess is the default for
the program is a low bit rate rather than a higher bit rate resulting in a
smaller file, but lower quality.

Hi

I have just played the first files, they seem to be
playable, not sure how much data there is, the whole folder
has about 6 files in it, but it is far smaller than the one
created by wmp, I have never had this before. The magazine
lasts about an hour normally. Not sure what else I can tell
you. What am I doing wrong?

Regards

Adrien

Yes, all winamp hotkeys are listed there, and they all work,
though not all will necessarily speak.

What screen reader are you using with Winamp? If you're

using JAWS, I'd

suggest starting with the JAWS documentation for Winamp.

check out the

hot keys and the usage tips.
