question about any DVD and clone DVD

2007-09-25 Thread Joanne
If anyone uses either or both of these products mentioned in subject line, I am
wondering if these need to be used somehow together and how this is done. The
reason I ask is, when wanting to download and try Any DVD it said it works best
with Clone DVD. So how do you use these 2 programs together to maximize their
benefit, or do you really need to? In other words can I just use one or the
other and still have the same results of being able to play DVD's more easily?
Thanks for any help.

No, you don't need CloneDVD if you're only playing DVDs. In fact, you don't
even need AnyDVD, unless the DVDs you're going to play have wrong region
codes. But if you're also wanting to make copies of some copy-protected DVDs
or audio CDs, then you'll need CloneDVD as well.

2007-09-25 Thread Bill Scherer
I haven't used Any DVD but it may be more for copying copy protected DVD's
which CloneDVD won't
copy.
Backing up your copy protected DVD's can be trickier but it can be done. For
that DVD decrypter and Rip
It for Me and DVDShrink may be needed.

2007-09-25 Thread Tim Grady
If you want to make backups of your program DVDs you need both of
them. Anydvd breaks the commercial copy protection and clonedvd
compresses the dvd so it can fit on a 4.77 DVD. It can also pull out
a specific portion of a DVD to write. This is the best way I've
found to make dvd backups

How do you know what portions to pull out and how do you pull them out?
Thanks.

Re: question about any DVD and clone DVD

2007-09-26 Thread Tim Grady
It's not easy. You can put out chapters, titles and specific audio
tracks and subtitles. In otherwords you can customize your copy of a
commercial dvd to the point that it will fit on a 4.77 DVD without
any compression. I did, however, have to get initial sighted help to
figure out how to make the selections, and I did notice that the
vidio is different from machine to machine. I would offer to give
you some pointers on how to use the software except now I find myself
using my mac instead of my windows machine.
