Re: Pentax Spotmatic F issue
Hi Callum, The bump stop is the rubber that surrounds the focusing screen. When you take the lens off you will see it at the top. They like to deteriorate and go all gooey in time. If your mirror is sticking there you will probably see evidence of the goo around the edges of the mirror itself . When this happens, the same thing is likely happening to the seals that engage the film door (bits sticking to the door edges that engage the slots in the body where the seals reside. There is a guy in the U.S. that sells seal kits (very reasonably). He used to sell on eBay but gave that up due to too many run-ins with fraud, etc. But he still sells the kits. That's what Ken's flowers looked like to me... yes, i hesitate to use the common name because i'm not sure whether applies to the whole genus, and i grew up using it for a completely different plant when growing up in Maine ah-yeah :-) heyDid we have a discussion about Maine before? I lived in Orono from 1960 to 1963 - husband going to the U, me, working there. Then back with subsequent husband a few times climbing Mt Katahdin, camping, etc.. or back to visit Maine friends. Thanks for that nice info on paintbrush... sure looks like Ken's is the variety you mentioned, and quite sure my stuff from the 80's is as well.. photo'ed in the capitol reef and canyonlands... they are so lovely. ann Brian - i think it might be Castilleja chromosa; i have seen these several times, but i don't know if there are others that look quite similar - maybe Ken knows http://www.swcoloradowildflowers.com/Pink%20Enlarged%20Photo%20Pages/castilleja%20chromosa.htm -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List PDML@pdml.net http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions.

...and Ken's castilleja is a very nice composition; these are very hard to grow in the garden Thanks Steve. Hit Southwestern Utah at the right time and they're all over the place. PESO - Mystery Castilleja
This is a follow up to the 'April PUG' thread. As I mentioned in that thread, I photographed this plant in Canyon de Chelly last year and it turns out (thanks to Ken Steve) that it's a Castilleja species (Indian paint brush). Steve suggested Castilleja chromosa, while Ken's photo is of C.scabrida. Here's a photo of my plant - the foliage looks a bit different to both of those. Anyone have any ideas as to the species? https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/1370864/castilleja.jpg -- Cheers Brian ++ Brian Walters Western Sydney Australia http://lyons-ryan.org/southernlight/ -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List PDML@pdml.net http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions.

Get in touch with Eric Hendrickson at http://pentaxs.com if it's a Pentax and it's repairable he can probably do it for a reasonable price.
