Thanks Derby. Extraordinarily beautiful. But is that a comfortable pose? He (she?) struck that pose when he became aware of us in the Zodiac - held it for some time - but yes it does look uncomfortable. It had been resting its head on the ice before this. We saw others do the same thing when they were alerted to our presence. Remember they are food for others, one of the reasons they were where they were, in relatively shallow waters at the dead end of an arm of water - whales and sea lions weren't seen here.
