Re: Leaping Tiger
Thanks, Alan - I'm hoping to nail the focus a little better. No problem with indoor & indoor / outdoor cats. The two indoor cats (two older females) have no interest in going out. The tabby comes and goes as he wishes, but he does have to rely on one of us humans to open the door for him. He opted to stay indoors virtually all of December - February. When he first started going outside he would show up at the door urgently demanding to be let in ... so he could use the litter box! I think he has figured that one out now... Re: Leaping Tiger
Thanks Jack. Anything much bigger than web sized shows that the focus is either on the cat's tail or the foliage behind him. The last shot was a pre-leap anticipation - unfortunately my reflexes are not cat-like so by the time I pushed the shutter button when he jumped he was way out of the frame! Re: Leaping Tiger
Probably motion blur though I think also I pre-focused on his face which is where his tail was after he jumped. The first and the fourth shots were 1/250 - ISO 1600. The second and third shots were ISO 800. They are not in the order taken - shots 2 and 3 were taken spontaneously the first time he jumped. I lead him back behind the brush pile to try again, and the second try was shot #3. I was too slow - he suddenly crouched and jumped and by the time I pressed the shutter he was probably standing a foot in front of me. Shot #1 was the third try.
