[SlimDevices: Plugins] RadioTime via MyPicks
If you've seen that the latest 6.5b supports streaming the comprehesive array of internet radio streams from RadioTime but you're still on 6.3, don't feel left out! The MyPicks plugin can come to your rescue. The plugin is available from here http://wiki.slimdevices.com/index.cgi?WikiRadio and then you need to create an account at http://radiotime.com/ To access the streams, go to the MyPicks editor via you SlimServer web UI, add a new entry, then add under Remote OPML Menu the url http://opml.radiotime.com/index.aspx?username=smc2911 (replacing smc2911 with your own radiotime userid). You can also use http://opml.radiotime.com/MyRadio.aspx?username=smc2911 to add a direct link to your MyRadio. I've also added a WikiRadio opml file which people might like to edit to share their MyRadio lists (my own is still very basic). -- smc2911 smc2911's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=4388 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=26713 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/plugins

Paul, I understand in principle regarding parameters but I don't understand how you would apply it. A hard part of adding new functionality is defining the user interface and making it intuitive. Can you illustrate with a few examples if such functionality existed what the user does to set it up and then how it would be used. -- bpa bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=26713 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/plugins

[SlimDevices: Plugins] Re: RadioTime via MyPicks
Maybe something like this ... If the OPML indicates that there is a mandatory parameter - then perhaps is could indicate which menu item it inherits from ... then .. when navigating (at Squeezebox) there could be a prompt to ask for (or perhaps reset) the parameter(s). Once entered (at Slimsever web GUI or via remote on SB) it could be saved, using the opml name A wikiradio.prefs (or whatever) could then save the parameters in same sort of tree structure, with inheritance. Then the parameter requirement and name could be taken from the opml and looked up. For example - I saw one opml in WikiRadio has (or at least had) a personal Live365 id etc - presumably of the user that capture the url. For example - in Non-commercial_Radio.opml - for 90.5 WICN. If the parameter is already present - then no need to prompt for it - but could offer to reset on the right-arrow menu. -- Paul Webster Paul Webster http://www.lastfm.com/user/BondJamesBond Paul Webster's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=105 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=26713 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/plugins

[SlimDevices: Plugins] Re: RadioTime via MyPicks
WikiRadio and MyPicks both use Slimserver XMLBrowser which handles the OPML. AFAIK there is no popup type functionality currently in the User interface. So to implement the envisaged functionality would require core Slimserver changes and not just an enhancement of the wikiradio Plugin. I prefer to avoid this. Some brainstorming - I'm not sure if the following will work but it stays within Wikiradio. I was think along the lines that URLs that are templates and require some form of text replacement could be prefixed by a special type (e.g. abcd://www.abc.com?userid=bpa is entered as tmplt://abcd://www.abc.com?userid=$$USERID). A protocol handler for tmplt:// could process the URL, strip off the prefix and do text replacement. Would this meet your needs ? there would be no pop up - however there could be additional Plugin setup dialogue to define discovered undefined parameters. If a user tried to access an tmplt:// URL - the first time an error message telling users to use the Plugin setup if the parameters were not defined in the pref file,. It will also record the names of the undefined parameters to prompt the user. -- bpa bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=26713 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/plugins

mplayer is an ordinary app does not have any special drivers - it just takes input from network processes it and outputs to a port. This sort of app should not crash XP. If the mplayer file is not corrupted in some way then it is an interaction with your system config. - what Firewall/Anti-virus software have you installed ? Since mplayer standalone test fails - I first suggest download a new copy of install EXE file and reinstall. I would advise against using other versions of mplayer as they are abuilt slightly differently and we know the version in the AlienBBC install works fine for many users. -- bpa bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=26742 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/plugins

Wallaby, I told you it would work upside down :-) It currently keeps one track on the playlist or keeps a list of what it's already played (although neither of these work too well in the version you have at the mo) I could keep a few behind and a few in front on the playlist so you could skip but then I would have to detect somehow that you have skipped to keep MC in sync. I want to get the basic use SB as an MC soundcard functions nice and solid then I'll start with the bells and whistles. There'll be a new version along shortly. The author doesn't plan to put the 6.5-compatible version on the main sourceforge page until 6.5 is an official release. I don't have CVS installed on my box, but was able to get it running by simply downloading the pieces and making the necessary sub-directories of Plugins/ to put them where they belong. Sorry if that's too vague, but post back if you need more help with it. -- aubuti aubuti's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=2074 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=26719 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/plugins
[SlimDevices: Plugins] Re: RadioTime via MyPicks
That sounds like a good, practical approach and could be particularly handy for MyPicks (rather than WikiRadio). The way I see MyPicks and WikiRadio is the former is for my personalised streams and the latter is for sharing. The idea behind posting radiotime MyRadio on WikiRadio was a bit different from the example of posting Live365 with an embedded userid. Rather than a single opml entry that everyone used to access their own MyRadio, I though people could add their own userids, building up a list that allow others to browse the interesting streams they had found. Still, each to their own. The beauty of these features is that everyone has different ideas as to how to use them. -- smc2911 smc2911's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=4388 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=26713 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/plugins
[SlimDevices: Plugins] Re: Audioscrobbler / LastFM submission problem
D'oh! Thanks aubuti, that was certainly not too vague: it was just enough to prod my flakey memory. I had actually used the CVS version a while ago, but had completely forgotten about it and was back to looking at the main release version. So, I've got the latest version and order is restored to the universe. Thanks again! P.S. saltydog: this may sort you out too. -- smc2911 smc2911's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=4388 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=26719 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/plugins
