That should be fine. It was what I expected you had downloaded and installed, but I felt it was best to start at the beginning. I can't see why this does not work. You could try the old procedure, of finding the Unix program and copying it to one of the folders where it can live. Search the forums for mplayer and you will find out how to do it (I gave details a few times, though at least one of my posts had wrong information). For me the plugin install without a hitch and after downloading Magnatune Catalog I can navigate it and play Magnatune tracks via my SB3... The Web UI is a different story. hello, I don't understand what I'm doing wrong with MIS ! I have SC 7.0.1 installed and I try to install the plugin MusicInfoSCR 4.1 Before the crash of my PC :-( I had no problem with SC 7.0.1 and MIS 3.99.7 I unzipped the MusicInfoSCR files into C:\Program Files\SqueezeCenter\server\Plugins\MusicInfoSCR But then I can't see anything new in my SC settings. Of course, I restarted SC. No, a reboot is not necessary, but you do need to restart SC. Just closing and opening the browser isn't enough. Hi, I`m running Squeezecenter 7.0.1 on debian with MusicIP. I now see an 'M' icon in SqueezeCenter and can genereate a playlist, but I do not see this on the Squeezebox. Pressing play lets me save my playlist while it schould (as I read here) generate a playlist based on the song i`m listening to. What could be the problem? If I recall correctly, you need to press and hold play on the track or album in the Music Library. debian apt-get delivered today the 7.1 - 20404 onto my disc. The date is June 1st, so I think I upgraded quite early ;(. IRBlaster is not working anymore. This is a must have in my environment. The WAF is down and near a complaining level ;). Any chance to get that done by my own? Anyone in similar situation but more successful? OK - I found the problem. There's a file called mplayer.sh, residing in /Users/jameschesher/Library/Application Support/SqueezeCenter/Plugins/Alien/Bin. This seems to tell Alien where to look for mplayer depending on whether you have an Intel or PPC Mac. The original mplayer.sh file has this line: if [ `uname` == "Darwin" ] ; then if [ `uname -p` == "i386" ] && [ -x "/Applications/MPlayer OSX.app/Contents/Resources/External_Binaries/mplayer_intel.app/Contents/MacOS/mplayer" ]; then app="/Applications/MPlayer OSX.app/Contents/Resources/External_Binaries/mplayer_intel.app/Contents/MacOS/mplayer" If you look in this location, there isn't a file called mplayer_intel.app - only mplayer.app and mplayer_noaltivec.app. So, I changed the file to point to mplayer.app instead, and it works! You should be seeing a small m in the squeezebox when looking at album names and songs. Glad you found the issue. Yes, there used to be mplayer_intel and mplayer_ppc, as well as mplayer_noaltivec. I think that may have been with the rc1 of the program you downloaded, and this changed with rc2. Turns out it's not fixed! Bizarrely, it worked for a couple of minutes, but then stopped. You can still see all the stations, and when you click one it tries to connect repeatedly but never actually does. PS - if I type "mplayer" in a terminal it says "mplayer not found", so I guess it's not actually in my $PATH. There have been previous posts that refer to mplayer being in /usr/local/bin. I don't actually have that directory - only /usr/local/lib, which is where the codecs I downloaded along with MPlayer are sitting. not sure if they're doing anything Given that mplayer sits buried in my Applications folder, do I need to add that location to my $PATH? You need to look at the tracks in Album, Artist, Genre view or similar. bpa - thanks for the response. When I paste the weblink for the "kite" test you refer to, it opens automatically in RealPlayer (and plays in stereo just fine). I can't save it to my computer. I know I won't be able to execute the command successfully, though, as when I type "mplayer" in the terminal it says "command not found". I was going to re-install MPlayer using the sub-version link instead of trying to use the package version - good idea? I think you are getting some network problems from BBC and streams are disconnecting. You may have "repeat" on and so SC will reconnect to the stream and so on. The mplayer.sh has the fullpath to mplayer so there should be no need for to add the full path. I check the recent dmg and you are correct - Mplayer developers have dropped the "-intel" in recent dmg builds. If the /usr/local/bin directory is not present you will have to create it and then copy a version of mplayer into it. This was the normal practice in previous version when users had to extract mplayer from a dmg.
