yep, same here. I add custom periods for C, 1, 2, etc. but they are
added and dont replace the default periods.

Also, are the default periods configurable? I would like to add the

here is what the default periods currently give me:

time period: brief forecast

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] bbc radio problem

2009-05-21 Thread HydeTheDarkerSide

Is that something that an overnight Microsoft update might change do you
think?

I've not changed anything in my setup since getting the WHS. It only
runs Windows Defender, although it did update IE to version 8 the other
day. There's no AV on the WHS and it's using the WHS OS Firewall
together with uPnP turned on, as is my router.

I just find it really odd that one morning the Alarm works just fine on
Radio 2 and the next day it doesn't :-?

My friend has confirmed that he's using the same radiotime.com url's as
me so it does point to something local in my setup. Just don't know
what to check.

Do you know the particular post in question that this other user found
the issue to be security s/w?

I can read the log file in notepad but not in the browser. It's logged

tried opening it in explorer but said it had a top level error which I
have no idea what that means. Anyway some feedback for you. :)

I had three hours worth of no BBC this morning with the 500 Internal

offending URL http://opml.radiotime.com/Tune.ashx?id=s75596partnerId=16
on my standard web browser, IE8, Windows Media Player opened and it
played just fine. So the stream was working but not on any of my

the BBC end, but I am not convinced. Why would the same stream play to
WMP but not any Squeezebox?

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] bbc radio problem

2009-05-21 Thread bpa

500 error only comes from remote server.

The error may have occurred once but SC caches it. I am not sure but if
you keep trying quickly - SC will used the cached response and so it
will look like the server is down for longer than it actually is.

You could try a longer response timeout as Windows has a long timeout
value whereas SC normally defaults to 5 secs.

[SlimDevices: Plugins] ANNOUNCE: Moose 0.71 (win frontend)

2009-05-21 Thread Dr Lovegrove
Ok, new Moose build up in the usual places..

Should work with the new SQLite nightlies - note that the sqlite
provider dll's changed.. Full details in the setup page..
There are also a bunch of new bits and bobs:

 * Scanning - Added quick-n-dirty support for new SQLite databases -
no support for persistent things like ratings yet
 * Library - Search text now treats multiple words as multiple terms
- bo da will now match david bowie, etc
 * Library - If search text is empty, the track list no longer gets
populated. To show all the tracks, use the 'Show All' button.
 * Tree - Fixed support for some of the newer Radios/Music Services
 * Tree - Added Server-Albums-Year 2007 and 2009
 * Tree - Added 6-second timeout for radio icons to avoid lockups
 * Now Playing - Status button's text colour tweaked. Behaves better
when semi-transp.
 * Now Playing - Added support for launching SqueezePlay - need to set
the path in the options, etc.
 * Now Playing - The Hotkeys (CTRL + P, CTRL + S, CTRL + F, CTRL + B,
F8, F9 and F10) will only be system-wide now if 'Global Hot keys' is
ticked in the tray icon menu. If this isnt ticked they'll only work
when the now playing window has the focus.
 * Playlist - Fixed 'remove all before' and 'remove all after' in
playlist popup menu
 * Playlist - Fixed 'remove all non-flacs' et al so they work when the
URL column's not shown

Enjoy,

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Squeezeslave stopping at end of track

2009-05-21 Thread ralphy

The initial beta release of squeezeslave supporting replay gain and
better track position reporting is available for 'linux'
'windows'
as well as the 'source'

You need to apply the included patch for your version of Squeezecenter
for replay gain to function. Windows users will need to download the
source version of SC, apply the patch and run it using activestate perl.
Unfortunately, the updated patch has not yet been applied to
svn.slimdevices.com.

If you've applied a previous patch, you'll need to reverse that patch
and apply the newer one. If you rerun the patch command used to apply
the previous patch, patch should ask you if you want to reverse the
patch, answer yes and then apply the new patch.

Please report any problems in this thread.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Softsqueeze 3.9 beta for testing

2009-05-21 Thread oreillymj

Brian,

I found that different zip was released with the jar files signed.

I downloaded the file here
http://forums.slimdevices.com/showpost.php?p=412319postcount=4 and
overwrote the 3.9b1 files with contents of that zip. Everything then
worked fine.

The original 3.9b1 zip file was causing the problem with Java 1.51 and
1.6

It displays the error in my screengrab with no option anywhere to allow
you to just trust and run the code.

So far 3.9 seems reliable. Good sync for me. I haven't had time to see
if the audio glitch that can cut the first second or so for each song is
now fix. It was kind of intermittent. I could play 10 songs fine and
then Softsqueeze would begin dropping a second from the beginning of the
song and then play the rest of the song just fine.

Maybe it's a Lame MP3 bug

[SlimDevices: Plugins] Squeezecenter will not start on SlimNAS Help!

Help,

What I want to do is completely remove Slimnas and Squeezcenter and
start again.

My Setup is Headless, OS is on HDD partition 1, Swap on HDD Partition 3
and Data Partition where Slimnas and Squeezecenter is installed on
Partition 2.

First question. How do I completely uninstall Slimnas and
Squeezecenter?

BTW please can you provide me with a simple answer.

Thanks in advance

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] iPeng support thread

2009-05-21 Thread rme

pippin;425208 Wrote:
 The server discovery port (3483).
Works fine. I figured that since you would have to forward the
SqueezeCenter port (e.g. 9000) to the correct machine anyway, I could
just use that one? Or does WOL not work with high ports?

BTW, regarding Pandora (I saw your ticket, thanks), is this with
SqueezeCenter or SqueezeNetwork? And what is it you are playing, tracks,
 playlists,...?

Actually, when sending WOL packet over internet, we need the ability to
specify a specific port to send it to for the url/ip address mac
address. Because the WAN router firewall needs to enable a specific
port to accept external WOL packets and forward to.

So in settings, it would be great to be able to specify the following:
MAC Address: xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx
WOL Port: _(up to 5 digits or if left blank use default)

if I filled in 00:11:22:33:44:55:66 and port 9 (or whatever the WAN
firewall has setup to port forward to), then when you send a wol packet,
send it to the server address (either internal ip or external ip/url)
with the mac address above and port 9. The WAN modem/router would then
need to setup port forwarding for anything external to port 9 and
forward to the internal broadcast ip address (192.168.1.255 or 254, etc)
which then would send that packet to all pc's in the LAN. This prior
sentence is a WAN/LAN router requirement as far as I can tell.

The way iPeng currently works of sending the WOL packet to the url of
the server and port 9000, does not get forwarded to the server pc behind
the WAN firewall if the server is external internet addressed and does
not wake the machine up now. It does work properly if ipeng is
connected to the wifi of the lan behind the router, and is internally
routed and does wake the pc up properly however.

Regarding Pandora, the problem is happening when using SC. Not sure if
it is a problem in SN.

Thanks

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] MusicInfoSCR and SC 7.4 (v24896)

2009-05-21 Thread Michael Herger
While checking logs for other issues I notice these errors reported
 every few seconds:
 [09-05-21 19:03:35.1886] Slim::Utils::Misc::msg (1154) Warning:
[19:03:35.1882] Use of uninitialized value $scrollPixels in division (/)
 at Plugins/TitleSwitcher/Plugin.pm line 149.

Do you see the same issue without TitleSwitcher involved? If so, without
MIS, but Now Playing configured as similarly as possible?

Triode,

Just to say that I finally got my SC upgraded and your v0.5 plugin
applied. All seems to be running correctly with iPlayer streams running
through to completion. Thanks for your help.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] ANNOUNCE: Moose 0.71 (win frontend)

2009-05-21 Thread Webkemmi

Hello Dr Lovegrove,

this is great news! Thanks to adapt moose to the new SQLite db so
quickly!

Nevertheless I had problems scanning the database:

I run SC 7.4-26702 on my WHS.
On a Windows Home Server, the database file 'squeezecenter.db' is
located in the hidden folder C:\Documents and Settings\All
Users\Application Data\SqueezeCenter\cache
First of all I downloaded the necessary file System.Data.SQLite.DLL
and copied it into the program folder on my notebook where moose.exe is
located. When I choose to scan the SQLite db in the moose preferences
window I have to enter the path to the db file (which in my case is
located on the WHS). One posibility is copying the db file from the
server to a folder on my notebook. I preferred to share the cache folder
on my WHS as SQL$ (hidden share) with read access rights for everyone.
After entering the UNC path e.g. \\server\sql$\squeezecenter.db in
moose I was able to scan the database without any problems (see attached
screenshot).

I think this hint could be helpful for WHS users.

Regards
Stefan

I see where you are coming from. When it's shut off you need to address
the server with a broadcast so you need a different port.
Will add that in 1.2

Regarding Pandora, the problem is happening when using SC. Not sure if
it is a problem in SN.

Now this is a weird one and you will have to help me since I can't try
Pandora over here.

So it's Pandora only? You are trying to play and not add, right?
How does the screen look? Like an album or playlist or like a higher
level menu? Could you send me a screen shot?

Also, could you probably provide me with a server log?
You'd need to do the following:
1. Start iPeng and go to Pandora, one level ABOVE where you are usually
trying to play from.
2. Open SqueezeCenter Settings: Settings-Advanced-Logging
3. Set network.cometd to debug and press apply
4. in iPeng, open the screen you want to play from.
5. Set network.cometd back to error and press apply
6. open the server.log and change the lines= figure in the URL from
1000 (or whatever you've opened) to 1 and open these 1 rows
7. Send me this log file

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Beta version of SvrPowerControl

2009-05-21 Thread gharris999

You have SrvrPowerCtrl installed in the wrong directory. It needs to go
in:

C:\Program Files\SqueezeCenter\server\Plugins\SrvrPowerCtrl

The:

C:\Program Files\SqueezeCenter\server\Slim\Plugin

..folder is _only_ for plugins that come bundled with SqueezeCenter.

You ought to be able to just drag the SrvrPowerCtrl folder from

server\Slim\Plugin

..to:

server\Plugins

Then reboot your machine and see if the SrvrPowerCtrl settings page
becomes available.

Be sure to use:

C:\Program Files\SqueezeCenter\server\Plugins

..for _ALL_ user plugins that are not part of the official
SqueezeCenter release.

Of course, you are hardly the first person to make this mistake...which
is easy to make unless you have a lot of SqueezeCenter experience.
Sorry about the confusion. You're providing me with more incentive to
make SrvrPowerCtrl installable via the extension downloader.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] ANNOUNCE: Moose 0.71 (win frontend)

2009-05-21 Thread Nonreality

Very strange. I'm running 7.4 with the sqlite. The strange thing is I
forgot to check it and hit scan with the mysqp box checked. It scanned
and so I decided to run it and everything worked. It had albums that I
had just added last night. So is 7.4 running both? Why would it work?
Ok I'm really confused. Here is my info now and it's showing mysqp
Version: 7.4 - 26678 @ Tue May 19 01:12:29 PDT 2009
MySQL Version: 5.0.22-community-nt
Did I revert back without knowing it or did they?

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: PlayLog -- log track info, easy web searches

2009-05-21 Thread peterw

You probably already know this but it's not working with the new 7.4 as
of last night as far as I know. I'm assuming since the new database but
not sure. Just tried it right now and nothing from the web interface on
 XP and firefox.
I can read the log file in notepad but not in the browser. It's logged
current songs but not sure why I can't read it in the web interface. I
tried opening it in explorer but said it had a top level error which I
have no idea what that means. Anyway some feedback for you. :)

I haven't tried a recent (sqlite) 7.4 build yet. Opening the file
yields results I'd expect -- the .xml files aren't really valid XML.
They have lots of song elements, but to be valid XML their should be a
containing element. The web UI wraps the song elements inside a
songdata element for the Download XML link. Are you running
SqueezeCenter on Windows? I imagine this could be a Byte Order Mark bug
-- I've seen Windows dislike UTF-8 files that don't contain a BOM
marker, but I wouldn't expect most CPAN code to care. Any interesting
messages in the server log when you try to access the web interface for
PlayLog?
