Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] SBS 7.4/Trackstat 2.9
I think it's a bug in TrackStat but I haven't had the time to look at it yet. As a temporary solution you can disable the refresh operations in TrackStat after rescans and startup, this is controlled by the "Startup refresh" and "Rescan refresh" options in the TrackStat settings page. The effect of this is that if a file is moved or renamed, you will loose the TrackStat statistics for that particular track. As long as you don't move or rename tracks you should be fine. -- erland Erland Isaksson 'My homepage' (http://erland.isaksson.info) (Install my plugins through Extension Downloader) (Developer of 'TrackStat, SQLPlayList, DynamicPlayList, Custom Browse, Custom Scan, Custom Skip, Multi Library, Title Switcher and Database Query plugins' (http://wiki.erland.isaksson.info/index.php/Category:SlimServer)) erland's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=3124 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=68869 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Beta: Weather-Screensafer for Controller/Radio/Touch
Very nice screensaver. I find the animation of the icons on the right a little annoying, but no big deal. Here's a real simple question/request: would it be possible to add an option to put the time of day on the screen somewhere? My choice would be the bottom, because I don't care that much whether it's been 14 minutes or 53 minutes since the weather forecast was updated. Also an option for displaying temp in Fahrenheit would be nice for those living in technologically backwards places that aren't used to thinking in celsius, particularly before the first cup of coffee in the morning. -- aubuti aubuti's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=2074 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=68386 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

I suspect this has more to do with the folks who maintain the 3rd party XM plugin than anything else. Logitech has had 7.4 in beta for ages, and they've answered questions from us 3rd party developers as we've tried to update our code to work with the new release. Logitech isn't purposely breaking anything; they're making changes that are needed or seen to be valuable, and sometimes those changes break 3rd party code. That's not to say that it's always easy or fun to update code for new releases; I certainly would have had more fun last weekend if I hadn't been trying so hard to get my 16 plugins working in 7.4 before Radio shipped. [SlimDevices: Plugins] SBS 7.4/Trackstat 2.9
Hi guys, This to report about a weird issue I am having with SBS 7.4 and Trackstat (2.9). Ill try to be as brief as I can (!). I upgraded from 7.3.3 to 7.4. SBS rescanned the library all fine. I checked my prefs all there. Then I noticed additional plugins were off (I use several by Erland plus other stuff). I installed them, rebooted the server and it wouldnt boot up and the PC would stop responding. Checked Resource Manager and noticed that mysqld.exe had spiked up to 100% usage and got stuck there (first time I left it hanging there for about 15 minutes so I guess it was just stuck in a loop). So I killed mysqld.exe and the server aborted. Then I started it safe mode, disabled trackstat and everything went back to normal. I tried many, many different things but to make this short lets just say I went radical on the problem. I uninstalled everything, erased all prefs, erased all folders (so yes, I had to reconfigure all my devices from scratch!). Re-installed 7.4. I launched it but aborted first scan of the library (as default library is not the right one). I configured all the parameters, re-installed all the additional plug-ins (including trackstat), rebooted and everything was fine. All the plugins were there, everything was working. So I launch the main scan. While its scanning (I have about 23k songs so it takes a bit), I check and reconfigure all the plugins and prefs... no problems. But then, as soon as the scan is over, everything goes south again: mysqld.exe kicks in (as, I guess it should, after a rescan?) but gets stuck again at 100%. Stays there indefinitely (lets say more than 20 minutes). So I kill it, but this time the server doesnt shut down. I check the plugin setting page and trackstat is installed. I try using and it works! (I restored my old stats as well as trying inputting new ones). At thats pretty much where I am now. Whenever I perform any kind of rescan on the library or reboot SBS while trackstat is installed, Mysqld gets stuck and freezes the machine but now killing it doesnt prevent SBS from starting up successfully (and trackstat from working). Does anyone have any idea how I can fix this? -- AladdinSane AladdinSane's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=30923 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=68869 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Headphone Switcher for Squeezebox Duet
As some might have noticed, with the 7.4.0-firmware audio-stuttering really spoils listening to music on the controller. I updated my Headphone-Pluging to ease the pain A LOT :) If you reinstall it (version 0.2) you will find a third option 'Improve Audio Playback'. On my controller now I only have very rare stutters (once every second song or so) What is happening behind the scenes ? Well - the plugins finds the process responsible for audio-playback and just increases its priority. UI effects like scrolling text etc. thus can't interfere with playback that much. Please note that I don't know what other sideeffects this could have, if unsure just restart your controller to revert to the original state. Testing about two hours now - couldn't notice anything bad. Thanks to bhaagensen for giving me the idea (http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=68815) As a sidenote: logitech improved the playback with 7.4.1 which you can download as a beta (http://downloads.slimdevices.com/nightly/?ver=7.4). The effect is roughly the same - some stutters left as well but in very good shape to enjoy music. The Audio playback process got 'realtime' priority there, my plugin-option then won't improve anything anymore (the changes are just ignored) -- bluegaspode One SB-Duet+Receiver. In that > case, sorry for my impatience. Well... The basic idea is that the Song Info menu opens a normal browse tree. There are Squeezebox users who do almost all of their browsing through that feature so I decided I want the normal main menu to be shown. So you will not be able to move the screen as on other NowPlaying pages, think of it as leaving the NowPlaying context. You also see the penguin on the top right. Swiping right should do a "back" operation similar to pressing the top-left button. Holding an item should open a context menu but at least in 7.4 a lot of the context menus you get here are broken, resulting in the same one being loaded again. That said: most context menus are NOT supposed to have direct context menus so in this case the correct behavior would be to do nothing at all. -- pippin --- see iPeng, the Squeezebox iPhone remote, at penguinlovesmusic.com pippin's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=13777 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=51929 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] iPeng support thread
Great update! Thanks pippin! If I touch & hold on the now playing cover art or a song in the playlist to get to the song info screen (great feature btw.), it seems that I in that song info screen only occasionally succeed in wiping to get back to the originating screen. Is wiping supposed to work in the song info screen in those instances (there are no small dots at the bottom of the page indicating that you can wipe to other screens)? What is touching & holding an item in such song info screens supposed to do? Sometimes such a gesture produced no result, sometimes it forced a reload of the same page and sometimes it took me back to the originating screen. A touch & hold _and_ a wipe lets you "wipe" to the same page. Is that the intended behaviour? In the song info screen in those instances I also got somewhat surprised that the player controls disappeared from the bottom of the screen (being replaced by the artist list etc. icons) so that I could no longer pause or control the volume while reading the album review. Perhaps all will be explained in the upcoming new manual... Yes, that may need a bit of explaining. iPeng remembers the order when, and only when you change the menu manually. If it doesn't find some of the items you put on the bar it fills them up with the top items on the menu. And I believe some of the items on MySB have different IDs (Radios, for example) so the menu might change when you switch back. This may be worth a ticket for a server dependent tab bar configuration, would probably make sense together with server dependent caching which is planned for a later release. https://trac.penguinlovesmusic.de/trac/ipengnat/ -- pippin --- see iPeng, the Squeezebox iPhone remote, at penguinlovesmusic.com pippin's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=13777 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=51929 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

I'd like to create a custom tag with a format like ARTIST/CONDUCTOR/BAND I've tried ALLARTISTS=combine ARTIST|ARTIST(text=/)|CONDUCTOR|CONDUCTOR(text=/)|BAND But this results in a trailing slash if there is no CONDUCTOR or BAND. Is there a better way to do this? I'd also like to add another custom tag to disambiguate multiple recordings with the same artists. Can I do something like this? ALLARTISTS=combine ARTIST|ARTIST(text=/)|CONDUCTOR|CONDUCTOR(text=/)|BAND,DESCRIPTION=oneof SHORT_DESCRIPTION|ALLARTISTS where MOREINFO is a custom tag and ALLARTISTS and DESCRIPTION are virtual tags. So if a tag SHORT_DESCRIPTION is non-empty it is used, else the ALLARTISTS virtual tag is used. -- Daverz Daverz's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=32335 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=68814 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] iPeng support thread
I've just upgraded to iPeng 1.2 on my iPod. One word : GREAT ! It is closer to the app I was dreaming about when buying iPeng a few months ago. It is more complete, with the possibility to have all informations on a playing track, add it into favorites, navigate to attached artist, genre, etc... Not yet perfect - does perfection exists ? ;-) - but really fine to use. I will tell you about my suggestions soon on trac. And I will install squeeze server 7.4 to have full iPeng 1.2 compatibility. But the use with 7.3 version is already cool ! Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Alienbbc - Empty Podcasts
Looks like a bad install of AlienBBC. AlienBBC 2.6b1-7.3 should be installed using Extension Downloader only. AlienBBC plugin should be considered "end of life" and your should move onto the replacement plugins. To play BBC programs you should be using BBCiPlayer plugin as BBC have been shutting down some RealAudio support. I don't think it is worth updating the BBC podcast page as the resulting list from new format web site will not be much different from the OPML list. -- bpa bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=63573 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Some updates: - font is resized to fit better on the available space. The font thus will be a bit bigger for better visibility. Also the font should now show correctly on Squeezebox Radio. - started to parse the actual weather-string (instead just the icon-names, that come from wunderground) for the current weather - this makes it possible to have more exact icons, for instance 3 levels of rain (ligth/normal/heavy) instead just one - see example icons below. - localization for english+german. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Some Dynamic Playlists Failed: Help Needed
Hi erland, I've fixed this but I can't explain why the playlists were failing in the first place. My fix was to get back ratings on my songs using an old backup. When all songs are rated then the Dance playlist worked. However, both Dance and Rock playlists have a >3* element to them so I am at a loss as to why one worked and the other one didn't. BUT it does not work! There is no Extras menu anymore, so you can't switch Sugarcube to on. -- Dandyman Dandyman's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=19558 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=49226 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
