If you can find the commands and protocol that your amp uses then I'd
be more than happy to create a SqueezeIR config file for you. Getting
the SBC to send ir commands from the volume buttons is pretty easy, the
hard bit is finding just which ir codes need to be sent. I have had a
quick look through Google but haven't found anything useful. If you've
got an SB3 then you could learn the commands from the original remote
using the irBlaster plugin and post them here.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Spotify Premium Plugin (Beta)

2010-08-12 Thread balle3201

Triode;555020 Wrote:
Edit: Updated with Release status - Release 1.0.1 is now available from
 the 3rd Party Plugin list

 Scope:
 - for Spotify users with a Premium account
 - plays back 320k or 160k streams
 - requires a PC based server running Squeezebox server (linux, windows
 or mac)
 - will play back via Squeezebox 2 and later hardware players only
 - supports a single playback session at one time which may be
synchronised across multiple players (i.e. does not support multiple
differently playback sessions at one time - this is a Spotify
 limitation)

If you are a Spotify Premium subscriber, then to try it out:

 1) Make sure you are running 7.5 or 7.5.1 Squeezebox server
 2) Go to the Settings/Plugin page and select Show all 3rd party
 plugins, click apply
 3) Select the Spotify plugin from the list and then click apply as per
 normal plugin installation
 4) Ensure the server has restarted
 5) Go to the Plugin, Settings page for Spotify either via the
advanced menu or from the plugin page
 6) Read and agree the Spotify restrictions, then add your username and
 password to the settings page.
 7) If you refresh the settings page a couple of times you should see
that a helper app is running and it is logged into Spotify. If not
there may be an error to help...
 9) Go to the radio menu on one of your hardware players and you
should be able to browse and play tracks from Spotify

 Linux:
The binary files included in the plugin include the Spotify library
libspotify and a closed source application built around this. This is
32bit only so on 64 bit linux you probably need ia32-libs installed.
For both 32bit and 64bit machines you will need libFLAC.so.8 installed
(usually in flac or libflac packages of your distro).

 Windows:
The binary is 32bit and should work on 64bit as well.

 Mac:
The binary will work on 10.6 machines, but issues have been reported
using them on 10.5 intel based machines. If you have a 10.5 intel
based machine, the workaround is to find the location of 'spotifyd' and
'spotifdppc' within the plugin and to rename them so that spotifyppc
becomes spotifyd. This will mean the helper app runs in ppc emulation
mode but it has been reported to work on 10.5 macs.

Please provide feedback and let me know if this plugin is interesting
 to people on this thread

Thank you SO much, for releasing this awsome Plug-In :-) I've waited a
long time for this. I can't believe I havn't discovered it until
yesterday...

Anyway, I installed it on a Windows Home Server and it's working
flawlessly on all of my three Squeezebox devices, controlled by iPeng
for iPhone.

With internet radio, local music and now Spotify, it should suit
everyones needs :-)

But I have a few questions/feedbacks/suggestions:
(I'm sorry if I ask questions that have already been answered)

1. Is there any reason why Spotify is located under Internet Radios
(Radios), and not as an Application such as for instance flickr,
facebook, napster etc.?

2. Minor detail, but anyway: Could you change the Spotify icon, to the
original green one? Don't quite like the Spotify core one. I
understand if there are copyright and trademark issues, but I ask
anyway.

3. It have occured that for some reason some tracks are unable to play,
if I browse to an artist -- Album -- tracks etc. BUT, if I use Spotify
for PC i.e., and locate the song there, and then save it to a playlist,
or Star it, and then try to play it from either my favorites, starred
songs, playlist the playback works fine. Any idea why this is
happening?

3. Does there exist an official website (page) for this plug-in, so we
can keep track on feedback, future updates etc.

Beside this, I just love the Spotify Premium Plug-in :-)

Keep up the good work, and I'll gladly donate some money for future
updates...

Just got the latest version of iOS 4 and iPeng. It's my first time
using it and all seems to be well until the phone goes to sleep. When
I wake it back up and select iPeng it doesn't go to the last
player/device that was selected (Bedroom) it goes to the other one
(Lounge) which was turned off and not playing.

This means all the playlists and album are are for the wrong player but
can be fixed by reselecting the one you want. I don't know whether it's
just defaulting to the last one on the list as I only have two, but I
would have thought it should remember where it was.

It is a known issue with the latest iPeng version that Pippin has fixed
in a new version he has already submitted to Apple for review. This
happens to me too and as a workaround for the time being I use the
Other players plugin, which works on iPeng, to move the playlist to the
correct player.

TechHome- there is an ALL OFF button. If you look on the bottom left
corner of the ipeng screen, you will see 3 overlapping icons. Touch on
that area and you turn all your players off or all synced on( plus
touching the play arrow). I think this is what you are asking.

I am looking forward to the update. Thanks Pippin. I guess I should have been
clearer. The Russound CAV 6.6 has a wall
mounted keypad in each zone. Pushing and releasing the power button
turns off that zone. Pushing and holding the same button a bit, turns
off all zones. This works regardless of whether the zones are playing
the same or different sources. This functionality is very handy to
ensure the system is completely off at night or when leaving the house.
I have two outside zones that sometimes get left on. I would like a
foolproof easy way to turn all plyers off. With the old icons, I
could swipe to see the players and sources and quickly tell whether any
players were on. Now it's tough as the new icons don't clearly signal
on-off status. In any case, I think it would be great to have an all
off button that appears on this screen whenever more than one player is
detected. I feel this button should work as all off regardless of the
conected music source(s) or sync status. I believe the button you are
referring to is on the now playing screen. It works great, but only
switches synced players.

Pippin, iPeng is awesome and continues to improve. It's multizone
support takes the entire SB platform to a new level IMO.

Pippin,

I have the same issue when I upgraded to 1.2.5. I use the irblaster
plugin to adjust the volume on my receiver. I volume output on the sb3
is set to Outout level is fixed at 100% so I think this is reason the
volume slider in iPeng is visible but not adjustable. In the prior
vesion I could still use the volume adjustmet with the fixed output on
the SB3. Great app.

Thanks

app, but I'm struggling to get the necessary codes for my Denon DM-37,
which comes with the RC-1097 remote. I see from previous posts that
Denon seems to cause a few problems.
Is there anyone on here who has managed to get this to work and is
 happy to share the details?

Alternatively can anyone suggest how I can get the codes myself?
The Nevo software on my iPAQ can learn them and emulate the Denon
remote, but I don't see a way to extract the codes from it. My laptop
has an IR receiver for controlling windows media centre, again I don't
know if it can be used to capture the codes.

 Thanks in advance.

I don't know if the ir receiver on your laptop can capture remote
codes, I have read that the irDA protocol that computers use is
completely different from the protocols used by A/V equipment but I
have also heard of success stories. Can't be of much further help.

Try using TheAbbot's config from post #121 it may work for you.
Alternatilevly try using a lirc file from a similar system but be
prepared to convert it yourself (see post #124 for details), you may
get lucky.

There has been a change in how the IRBlaster detection is being handled

But the new method requires use of a recent IRBlaster version.

That's SC 7.3.4. And the last IR Blaster that works with it, version

Can I downgrade iPeng ?

Only if you have a copy of the old iPeng.ipa file. Usually iTunes keeps
copies of these. Or it could be in your trash bin.

If you have it, remove iPeng from ITunes, drag the old iPeng.ipa file
into iTunes, delete iPeng from your device (on the device itself) and
sync it back onto the device using iTunes.

The current iPeng 1.2.5 versions are probably the last ones that will
still be tested against SBS 7.3, btw, it's getting more and more
difficult to support both the new and the old versions of the server.

Oh, and as said in that other thread: iPeng now needs a recent version
of IRBlaster. Could that plugin probably be backported to 7.3.x? I
mean: are there really differences WRT this part in the servers? You
could try to modify the minVersion tag in the installation file and

Puargh. Not for plugins.
That'll be too diverse.

For SBS it's still 7.3.3+, I put considerable effort into making iPeng
compatible to SBS 7.3.3 and into testing it with that server.

I don't plan to do that again, maybe for the first iPad release but no

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] BBC App - not working on 7.6

2010-08-12 Thread Cainam

This morning when I turned on Squeezebox radio (connected to mysb.com,
no local server), it told me new software was available, and it updated
it

System information screen shows 7.5.1 r9009. I thought it already WAS
9.5.1, but there you go!

I re-installed the BBC Radio applet, and it shows version 1.1. But now
neither live radio nor listen again work through the applet.

If I say to use WMA streams then it buffers, but there is silence.
If I uncheck that box (to use AAC), then it comes up with an error
message about Problem: can't open file for spdr://bbcmsparser

Not sure where to go from here. Any thoughts?

Thanks,

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] iPeng support thread

2010-08-12 Thread epoch1970

Another thing. I see this on my iPeng 1.2.5/iPhone 4.0.1:
1. play something, show cover, portrait orientation
2. touch the - button, enter screen titled More
3. touch the iPeng button, go back to cover
4. rotate to landscape
5. rotate (back) to portrait.
There, the - button may be gone, and a more button is displayed
instead. Variant: a more button is shifted towards the center, and
partially covers title/artist info (and the - button is there).
It's not really a button, touching it does nothing.
The artefact goes away when the song changes.

I can't create the spurious button every time I repeat steps 1 to 5,
but enough rotations and flip flops between the more and now
playing screens should show the problem. On my phone this is
repeatable, if I insist enough.

message about Problem: can't open file for spdr://bbcmsparser

Not sure where to go from here. Any thoughts?

 Thanks,

 Cainam

My fault - the fix for 7.6 broke 7.5. This should now be fixed in 1.2
- please install that and post here how you get on.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Custom Browse accented characters problem

2010-08-12 Thread unclemat

Bumping this from the dead because the problem is still there for
me.

Flac files with Polish accented/diacritic characters. Arists names are
trashed, both in the web UI as well on players. I am using version
2.10.3222 of the plugin with 7.4.2 version of Squeezebox Server.

Can send you a couple of files to inspect. I would really appreciate if
you could take a look at this.

Question: Are you interested in IR-over-IP?

- Yes, I'd like to have IRoIP.
- No, I don't care.

Could you please give me two xml-config files for SBC SqueezeIR(simple,
 and not..):
 1. Simple: Only volume+/- mapped on SBC HARD VOLUME keys. Thats all.
 2. Not simple: In menu (Extras?) we have three items: standby, volume+,
volume-. And volume+, volume- mapped on SBC HARD VOLUME keys too..

If it's hard, most needed 1-st variant.

Do you actually want two files or one file with both solutions so you
can switch between them or is the first part just a test and it's
actually part 2 that you want as it does everything part 1 does and
more? All are possible but I need to know.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] CustomBrowse bad menu

2010-08-12 Thread mps

I seem to have fixed it by clearing the Level 1 sort tag in
CustomBrowse but by leaving the sort tag mapping in the CustomScan
module, so I am in good shape. Still, that doesn't seem right that
filling in the Level 1 sort tag field correctly should cause the
sorting to fail. I'll leave it to you to decide whether that is
intended behavior or a bug.

Thanks so much for your time and responsiveness,

Mike

Just e-mailed you two files (in separate e-mails). One is mp3, one is
flac. Along with screenshots showing the problem.

Please post here if you don't receive them. Thanks a lot in advance.
Your plugins are the key to implement kids room squeezebox.

Now I remember, it's actually supposed to work as you say.

The Level 1 sort tag field is supposed to be used in case you want to
sort by something else than what you have setup in the sort tag
mapping.
