I don't want it to change any of the existing tags that I have so painstakingly set up. I don't mind GENRE being changed since I have not put much effort into that, but definitely leave my ARTIST, ALBUM, TITLE, etc tags alone. What does the Fix Tags button do? I am very afraid to press it. In the MIP gui, click on the red spanner icon to bring up the Preferences box, then General, then tick the box next to 'Archive analysis when tracks are analyzed'. Then when a track is analyzed, two new tags are added but no existing tags are altered. In Squeezebox Server, Server Settings / Plugins / set 'Only read Mixable Status', then I keep it simple - Player Settings for each mix to No, Mix Size to Number of Tracks to 75, Style 150, Variety 3, Mix Genre to No, Reject 2 tracks, and important Reload interval 0, stops it automatically scanning. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] MusicIP: newbie questions
Henry, If the 'M' shows in the gui as detailed in my previous post, then when the MIP mix preferences are set, you can make a mix from the Touch. On the Touch, select New Music, Select an album and all the tracks displayed. (I have only just got a Touch and have only tried this from New Music, but it should work from any track or album selected by search or browse). Long touch on a track brings up a display that shows details of the track and the last item in the display is Create MusicIP Mix. Tap that and a mix will be created and a new menu appears headed MusicIP Mix, first item Play Mix and then all the tracks in the mix are listed. Tap the 'Play Mix' and away it will go. -- Wirrunna A camel is a racehorse designed by a committee. Well, you don't need a router, just an access point and the security argument is just the wrong way around: the Receiver only supports WEP which is definitely NOT secure and if this does work it does indeed open a gateway to your network. Thanks so much for doing all this work. I have been irked by the lack of iTunes/Trackstat integration ever since I got a new mac with Snow Leopard and became unable to install/use AppleScript::Glue. I downloaded your zip file, but it only contains the binary and no Readme or source files. When I run your script, it doesn't handle the date format that is created by TrackStat plugin (or for that matter, James Craig's iTunes plugin). Here is an excerpt of the format of both files from today: nas-96-85-77:/c/media/Music/Playlists# grep Tchintchirote TrackStat_iTunes_Hist.txt iTunes_Hist.txt TrackStat_iTunes_Hist.txt:Tchintchirote|||/media/Music/iTunes/iTunes Media/Music/Cesaria Evora/Cabo Verde/01 Tchintchirote.m4a|played|20101211084250|60 iTunes_Hist.txt:Tchintchirote|Cesaria Evora|Cabo Verde|/media/Music/iTunes/iTunes Media/Music/Cesaria Evora/Cabo Verde/01 Tchintchirote.m4a|played|20101211084633| The date format in both files is mmdd. Although I haven't been able to read your source, it appears that the application expects ddmm since it complains every time there is a number greater than 12 is in the last position. Additionally, it added songs played December 2nd to iTunes as played February 12th. Is there a setting or something else quite obvious that I am missing? Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] MusicIP: newbie questions
Henry, I'd walk first before I tried flying. MIP will see the tracks if you ticked 'Monitor Folders Continuously' on the Preferences / Watch Folders page. In the MIP GUI, I added 'status' in Preferences / Playlist View, so new tracks not only turn green, but their status changes to analyzed. You will have to run a 'Look for new and changed music' scan before SBS sees the tracks. Try making a few mixes in the MIP gui to see what the style and variety do - Preferences / Mix , then after adjusting these, select a track and click on the Mix icon (orange green star, top left hand corner of the gui). When you are happy with a mix in the MIP gui, right click on the Mix in the Filters/Playlists column and Save As Playlist, this allows you to name the mix and save it in the directory SBS uses (in my case C:\Documents and Settings\Johno\My Documents\My Music\Playlists), then a rescan playlists only makes the mix available in SBS. Then try the Spicefly plugin. -- Wirrunna A camel is a racehorse designed by a committee.
