As much as it pains me to say me too, I would like to convey my appreciation for the plugin and second this request for new functionality, please. correct. the saving function in the plugin is unique to the plugin. If one wants to save things that show up in squeezeboxes and in other uses of spotify, one must save to playlists, which will be available everywhere. My understanding is that this limitation is a function of the API used to created the 3rd party spotify plugin for LMS. *Location 1:* VortexBox 4TB (2.3) LMS 7.8 Transporter, Touch, Boom, Radio w/Battery (all ethernet except Radio) *Location 2:* VBA 3TB (2.3) LMS 7.8 Touch Benchmark DAC I, Boom, Radio w/Battery (all ethernet except Radio) *Office:* Win7(64) LMS 7.8 Squeezelite *Spares:* several Touch, Radio, SB3 *Controllers:* iPhone4S iPad2 (iPeng7 Squeezepad), CONTROLLER, or SqueezePlay 7.8 on Win7(64) laptop *Files:* ripping: dbpoweramp FLAC; post-rip: mp3tag, PerfectTunes; Streaming: Spotify garym's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=17325 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=79706 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Hi coppertop, 1) I think you have a directory problem, it should be like this : #9474;- libeay32.dll #9474;- Shairport4w.exe #9474; #9492;#9472;#9472;#9472;tools (subfolder) nc.exe play.bat stop.bat If it doesn't works, add this line at the end of play.bat and stop.bat (after :FIN ) Code: echo Script %~nx0 started at : %date% %time% log.txt it will create a log.txt file in the root folder of Shairport4w.exe with the date time each time the script is started. Useful to make a diagnostic... 2) Yes... this is by design because this tool is just transferring the sound of your PC to the squeezebox... If you are a developer you can take a look in the section How can it be improved ? of my first post, there are many way to transfer directly shairport sound to the squeezebox but it require more work ;) schmurtz's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=57368 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=100048 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Sorry to bring bad news but version 0.1 doesn't seem to work correctly. It plays local files and BBC iPlayer streams but won't play Qobuz, Tidal, Spotify or Radio Paradise Streams. I noticed that generated config file was different to 0.0.9.9j (different and missing parameters) so tried the earlier version instead and 0.1 then worked correctly. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] iPeng support thread
Pippen, I have a request (or maybe this is already in iPeng and I'm just missing how to make it work): With iPeng 8 on my iPad I'm able to set the default mode for adding songs from my library to the now playing queue to Play Now, Play Next, or Add to End using one of the 3 visible icons above the library list. I just upgraded to an iPhone 6 Plus and hoped iPeng might use the additional screen real estate and resolution of the 6 Plus to be more like the iPad version. At a minimum I would love if you could at least add the ability for users to set the default add mode when adding from library to the now playing queue. It is always frustrating to painstakingly craft the perfect queue only to mistakenly tap a song in the library and watch all my work wiped out with no recourse because of the Play Now default. When that happens (and I do it all too often when using my iPhone) I end up shedding a little tear and then just turning everything off and go read a book instead. Thanks for the wonderful app and I look forward to future iPeng enhancements for use my gigantic 6 Plus screen. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Help with Multi-Library Plugin
Thanks for the reply Slimchances; it seems we have both set up libraries but neither of us are quite sure what all the parameters mean. This of course means that I am a little concerned that everything is OK. I have been staggering, or perhaps blundering on, and have, probably, set up Custom Scan to return ALBUMARTIST, COMPOSER and CONDUCTOR (I am using FLAC files only). Then I have set up some menus with Custom Browse so that I can view the following: Composer -- Genre -- Album -- Album Artist. All of my classical files are tagged with the Album as the Work (e.g. Piano Concerto No 5), and Album Artist as the basic description of all the main protagonists (e.g. Barenboim - Klemperer - New Philharmonia Orch.). I did this by setting up a menu that I called 'Classical by Composer' which should have four levels. That is: on the 'menu parameters' panel I have defined 'Level 1 Tag Name' as COMPOSER, 'Level 2 Tag Name' as GENRE, 'Level 3 Tag Name' as ALBUM, and lastly 'Level 4 Tag Name' as ALBUMARTIST. This does roughly work, allowing me to step down through the layers as defined in paragraph 2, above, and this is a great improvement on my earlier efforts (I have removed some scans amongst other things). However, I have a problem that does not seem easy to fix: I have duplicate entries in the 1st and 4th layers. That is to say: each composers name is repeated and also works to direct me to a lower level, and the performers (i.e. Album Artists) names are also repeated although each does give the correct track list (i.e. song titles); Genre and Album seem to work OK except for one other issue which can wait for now. Does anyone know what is happening here? arthurb's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=56956 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=102563 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

I'd changed the way I've been setting up the config file from doing it on the laptop to installing directly to the media server and must have made a mistake in altering the config file. I've resorted to my original method of setting it up on the laptop then transferring everything to the server and it all works. Apologies for any inconvenience caused though I still don't know how to initiate a logfile so if somebody could point me in the right direction I'd be obliged! No problem ! To create a logfile, just do squeeze2upnp -f filename (without the of course) where filename can be just the name or a name with a path, for example squeeze2upnp -f logfile or squeeze2upnp -f d:/toto/logfile NB : to re-generate a config file, just run squeeze2upnp, wait till it has detected players and then, while it is running type save filename and a config file with your existing config + all the new parameters will be created undername filename. You can then exit squeeze2upnp, alter the config file do match what you want (if you need) and then restart squeeze2upnp with the new config file squeeze2upnp -x configfile -f logfile Hope this helps philippe_44's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=17261 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=102496 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] WaveInput Setup Troubles
Ok, so. Due to the fact that I accidentally broke Perl trying to find ways to fix the problem, I decided to flash my SD card again and install LMS and squeezelite again. While installing it, I realized that 107 was the user ID for the username squeezeboxserver which LMS created as a user upon installation. So I guess LMS runs under this username/ID. I read into problems with permissions with LMS and changed the permissions for the WaveInput plugin (located at /var/lib/squeezeboxserver/cache/InstalledPlugins/Plugins) via the instructions on 'this page' (http://wiki.slimdevices.com/index.php/Linux_Installation_Guide#Linux_Permission_Problems) but nothing changed. I then decided to add this new user (squeezeboxserver) to the audio group via a sudo usermod -a -G audio squeezeboxserver command. To test this next change, I played a local .flac file which played fine on the server machine. Then, I chose the wavin:default I had put under favorites. Then, it sounded like the playback on the server machine became corrupted (the sound played quieter, there were pops, and overall it sounded like the song went through a very poor recorder). Also, I waited more than 30 seconds and got nothing out of the client unit. Once I killed the cvlc playback and started another one, the sound returned to normal. This happened every time I tried to use the WaveInput plugin. I tried changing default to hw:0 in the URL and also tried installing ecasound and using the eca custom-convert.conf file, with the same results. I can still use LMS to stream files on the server to the client with no troubles. Any ideas? It's taken me days to get to look into the SuperDateTime problem I've been seeing. I came here and... big change required, huh? Damn. I have two SqueezeBox Classics for the *express purpose* of running this plug-in. Heck, I barely ever stream audio from them anymore. I love the display of the time, weather, and sports scores. If I knew perl I could contribute to this effort. I can hack my way through some stuff (I program mostly in C), but undertaking a major rewrite is *way* beyond my abilities. BoomX2 you've bailed us out before. Any way we can do something to resurrect this? Or do we just have to accept the sad fact that it's dead? Screen-scraping blows, I'll grant you that. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Music Artist Information plugin
1. Where does the MAI scraper store the artist/album pictures? If you've defined a folder where to store them, then that's the place ;-). As you seem to be interested in it, I'd suggest you check your settings. If none is set, then there's a may_* sub-folder in LMS' Cache folder. By setting your own folder, these images should be moved there iirc. 2. Where and in what format (nfo, txt, ...) does it store the artist/album information? It's only stored temporarily in LMS' cache. I am still looking for a solution to locally store this information in a platform/software agnostic manner, i.e. Music/artist/folder.jpg for artist picture Music/artist/album/folder.jpg for album art This latter should work. As well as Music/artist/album/artist.jpg. I'll add the parent folder (Music/artist) to the todo list. Should be feasible without too much hassle.no Music/artist/artist.nfo for artist info Music/artist/album/album.nfo for album info Are there any specifications for *.nfo files? Can these be considered plain text files? There already is code to find biographies etc. as txt, pdf and html. But it should be quite straight forward to be added if we can assume it's plain text and can be handled by a web browser.
