Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Test] Repo for LMS 7.9.0 on Synology DSM 5.*

2015-06-05 Thread HarryPotter

Hello pinkdot

It took me the whole day to find 2 out of over 46'000 music files that
are causing LMS to crash:

http://tinyurl.com/oxw4d4h
http://tinyurl.com/nj3675v

So far no disconnections anymore since I removed this 2 files (and a
couple of hidden jpg) althouh I still have tons of this warnings about
corrupt jpeg.

It was a pain to find the files because the scanner log is not updated
on a update scan. Only if I do a complete rescan with deleting the
database the log is filled up.
I tried to install your LMS on a DS712+ as well, but the installtion
ended with failed to install.

So if you have time you may have a look into

- this 2 files (whats wrong with them or with LMS?)
- LMS for DS712+
- scanner log not updatin

Thank you very much

Greetings

I downloaded your 380mb! log. So, maybe a debug wasn't such a good idea

I will see if I can reproduce this issue of the 'update scan' as well.

The original Synology packages for X86, Cedarview, Bromolow and Avoton

check the spk to see if I did anything wrong there.

I tried to do that. When you say full scan I assume from that you mean
clear library and rescan everything option from the main setting page.
The scan completed and I do see all my music in the LMS library so I
assume that it completed and my music plays fine if I select it
manually, select a playlist or just do random. The only bit that doesn't
play is the smartmix.

I did see quite a few errors in the scanner log mainly related badly
formed replay gain tags but there wasn't that many of them and nowhere
near the number of tracks I have. However I didn't see anything in the
log file relating to smart mix.

so I tried something else . I created a recipe with the widest choice
possible to see if it would choose anything that I have. When I click
on the play this mix in the music blender screen I get the following

Mr Clive, If you gou withat version of squeezeplug thee is a NOOBs image

It would be better to use Max2play and run LMS on the rpi2.

What player do you intend to use for output? (Edit: Touch and BOOM)

can often help if you get stuck).

I'm just now downloading Max2Play to use on a rpi2 with a hifiberry digi

When you do the install follow the instructions at each stage and don't
worry if you make a mistake, all can be resolved with patience and time.

You will find it quite rewardiing when everything is up and running.

If you have problems, PM me your address and I'll pop a preconfigured SD

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: BBCiPlayer Plugin (UK only)

I too have been suffering from occasional buffering issues that are
related to DNS. My ISP in the UK (Sky) hard codes their DNS server
addresses into their routers (which you also have to use). I am running
LMS on an Ubuntu box, with a 30 second buffer specified in LMS. If I
let this box use my router (and hence Sky's DNS servers) an HLS Radio 4
stream using the iplayer plugin takes 20 seconds to buffer, plays for 10
seconds then buffers again. If I point the Ubuntu box to Google's DNS
servers buffering is much faster, although I still get occasional drop
outs during playback and sometimes the streams stop playing until
restarted. I have now installed dnsmasq to cache addresses locally,
which seems to have resulted in a further reduction in drop outs. I am
in the process of testing different DNS servers to see which give the
best results.

 Hi

I'd like to try the LMS repack package, but is there a way to backup and
restore the LMS settings (paths, favourites etc., ideally also database
(though the music files could be easily re-scanned if the paths are
available) and addons (not sure whether I even any in use atm). I am
currently using the latest Synology package (LMS 7.7.3 if I am not
 mistaken).
 Thanks groetjes!

You have to remove your current installation of the Synology package.
This also will remove all your settings, prefs and database. The only
way to backup and restore is by command line AFAIK. But it is
recommended to do a fresh install. Some plugins might not be compatible
with 7.9.0. And 7.9.0 has several new features, so browsing through the
interface is a good way to see whats new ;-)

Hi castalla. I'll be storing some files local on USB, but will probably
be using something like Napster or Spotify to stream from

Thanks, makes sense. What's the path to the settings then? In case I
want to restore the Synology package.

Great job! Thanks for the plugin.
I mainly tested streaming from tidal (flac) and it works well with an
Atoll st200 streamer. however i have got an issue with the pause and
resume. It will play the track from the begining again. I use the
pioneer n30 settings. Any idea ?

If I remember well, I already had a hard time with such a problem. Just
to confirm, can you tell me if it does the same thing with a local file
vs tidal ? You can also try to check LMS seeks on resume option. I
have to look back earlier in this thread for the details, but if I
remember this is due to the fact that, some players, when they pause a
stream, they close the connection and when un-pausing, they re-open the
connection but do no ask to seek to the paused position. They treat it
as if it was a live, non-seekable stream (although I've set the
parameters to say that it is a seekable stream). If you can also take a
log, that would help me confirm. I'll dig into the archives, but I
think one of the solution was to force flac transcoding in LMS. PasTim
might also remember all that better than I do

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Spotify Premium Plugin (Beta)

2015-06-05 Thread Cut-Throat

A friend of mine bought a new Laptop today and we tried to install the
Triode Pluggin. Running the self test the Help App passes but the Login
to Spotify keeps failing.

We used my Laptop for his Spotify Account and the Triode Pluggin and
everything works fine. We noticed that the LMS that he downloaded from
the Logitech Site was version 7.8 or so. Mine was 7.9 So, we found
the Beta site for LMS versions and downloaded 7.9 on his Laptop.

Seemed to make a difference as the 'Orange Spotify Icon appeared in
LMS, but the Self Test still fails to Login to Spotify.

I have a couple computers that have this problem now and I cannot find a
solution. Need some help, thanks!

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: BBCiPlayer Plugin (UK only)

2015-06-05 Thread bpa

PasTim wrote:
If there's an error in the information in the thread on getting
BBCiPlayer working can you let me know so I can correct it?

There is no mention of the DNS issue in the first two posts which AFAICT
summarise what a user needs to do to get the plugin working.

That said, the issue is not clear cut and so at this stage it will be
hard to give definitive advice or even a guaranteed solution.

I'm not exactly sure of Wigster's problems. Wigster is a non UK
listener. I think there are rebuffering issue as well as stream
stalling. I believe Wigster's problems are nothing to do with processor
power, network capacity, LMS/plugin up to date or faad. It seem unlikely
that another plugin is a cause as there is only one player.

I have had days where a live (non UK) streams suddenly stopping after
playing for a while and other days where there are no issues. All other
aspects of server/network are identical so it is something to do with
how BBC is serving the HLS stream. Using logging I determined the
problem is that when a HTTP Get for next chunk would fail due to
timeout the plugin is designed to terminate the stream.

The timeout is determined by the Settings.Advanced/Radio Station
Timeout. Increasing it helps a bit but does not eliminate the problem.

The following are my observations as a non UK listener and this is
important as I think the dynamics may be different for UK vs non-UK
listeners.

1. Radio Station Timeout may have an effect especially if it is set
short possibly less than 3 secs.
2. Plugin needs to be modified so that one timeout does not terminate
stream. That said, when I implemented multiple timeouts I think DNS
issue possibly caching also affected timeout.
3. IP address for same BBC DNS names of HLS stream change quickly and
often. Other users have noted that slow DNS servers or DNS server that
like to cache can cause problems playing HLS streams

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Smart Mix plugin

2015-06-05 Thread Michael Herger

I did see quite a few errors in the scanner log mainly related badly
formed replay gain tags but there wasn't that many of them and nowhere
near the number of tracks I have. However I didn't see anything in the
log file relating to smart mix.

Did you enable debugging for smartmix before the scan? Please provide
the scanner.log file. There should either be some information about what
the plugin is doing, or an error about why it fails.
