Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: SuperDateTime - Current Date/Temperature and/or Baseball Screensaver
New version available: # 5.10.13 07/03/15 Added option to query weather by WU station ID, US Zip Code, and (NEW) Airport Code. This is for the wunderground.com version of SuperDateTime. If you update the plugin, and it doesn't seem to work, check the settings, and make sure you select the type of weather station identification type you are using - there's a new pull-down in the settings screen. Choices are weather underground station ID (default), US Zip Code, or by airport code. If you already have the repository identified in your plugins tab additional repositories (http://sourceforge.net/projects/superdatetimewu/files/repo.xml) you should be notified of the available update. Could it be that you need to initialize rand with some random seed (like CPU time) before you can use it (think it's like that in Java, but don't know what program language you used for you plugin)? Whilst playing one of the earlier tracks I decided I liked it so much I would change the Rating tag on the flac (I often do this whilst playing tracks). Due to monumentally foolish finger trouble I managed to move the whole folder to another place. LMS naturally threw a wobbly. I stopped playing, moved the folder back where it should have been, started playing and got the 24-bit mashed up noise again. This makes me think that if and when some form of LMS or network or renderer glitch or delay occurs, sq2p may not restart cleanly. The occasional unexpected stop in music is a minor thing. The 24 bit white noise is another. I'm not sure the log would be much help, and I may be way off mark. So, just a thought. I see now, yes I agree the white noise can be very painfull. I will think about how it can happen, but I'm bit dry as of now in the sense that I forward what I receive from LMS after having done a bit of endianness change or byte packing, but I'm only processing an amount of bytes that is a multiple of channels*bytes_per_sample. In case LMS stops sending bytes and if there is a 'wrong' number of remaining bytes in the buffer, they will not be processed until LMS feeds sq2u again or stops the whole process. At this point I cannot think of a case where things would go wrong and I could detect that automatically. That's the issue with pcm, these are just bytes, no checksum, nothing to assess if they are right or wrong - any other method to check validity would be prone to a lot of false alarm. I'll continue thinking about a potential defect case (apart from LMS sending random data) LMS 7.7.2 - 5 radio, 3 Boom, 4 Duet, 1 Touch, 1 SB2. I'm not sure when the issue crept in but was working fine until recently. I'm running LMS 7.9 nightly if that makes a difference. I found the problem, I had tuned the ALSA buffers down to a minimum on an older kernel and for whatever reasons this was insufficient, so I increased the buffer for all my squeezelite clients (running hifiberry cards and output via HDMI) to the following; 80:4:32:0 and things are working 100% fine again with no stuttering and sync being maintained - awesome! ashleyw's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=58923 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=79706 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

I don't believe the plugin supports multiple spotify accounts, so the only thing I can think of is to have another instance of LMS running on a different machine/IP address and then have this one configured to use your wife's account and then just change the clients to connect to the right LMS instance - yeah a bit messy - it would be great to see family accounts supported by the plugin natively, but I guess this is unlikely unless Adrian decides to make a reappearance. ashleyw's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=58923 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=79706 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] iPeng support thread
Alright, had some time now to play around with playlists. Everything works as advertised. Even better, as I have often read that the LMS does not like long playlists. Seems that my barebone brings enough power to the table to offset tais particular disadvantage. I have a monster-playlist of almost 2.000 songs and it plays just fine - I can even have it shuffled. So, thanks again, pippin, for pointing me in the right direction. And for what it's worth, today I replaced the last Sonos ZP with a RaspBerry running PiCore. iPeng played a major role in making me swap systems.
