My storage is an usb HDD 2.5
Browse my local library is a bit slow but acceptable for my daily
usage.

I've set performance to max but didn't impact the respond time of
spotty.

I'm surprise because I didn't had issu of browing my spotify library
using "spotify protocal handler". I only got that issu with spotty
(since beta).

Any other tricks to try ?

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] ANNOUNCE: AirPlay Bridge = integrate AirPlay devices with LMS (squeeze2raop)

2017-07-18 Thread streampunk

Hi everybody,
My setup is:
- PCP/LMS, Ap Bridge 0.2.2.5 on a Raspi 3 with Amp connected to PhatDAC,
connected via cable to local network
- 2 Airplay speakers (Sony SA-NS)
- Wifi main zone
- Wifi second zone (2nd router as repeater), same credentials as Wifi
main zone
- iPeng for controlling playback

I've noticed that when I take the AP speaker from the Wifi main zone to
the Wifi secondary zone while playing music, the playback stops, not
only on the Airplay speaker, but also on the cabled Raspi (iPeng
switches to Paused).

Now I'm not sure whether this is normal/inevitable and whether it's
caused by LMS or by iPeng and, more importantly, whether there is a
workaround?

Thanks & best regards
Martin

Thank you for that. My pCP main page now tells me that LMS is running.
However, when I check settings on a connected Squeezebox Radio player, I
find it is still using LMS 7.7.2 from my QNAP.
How do I reconfigure my network to use LMS 7.9 from the pCP and not LMS
7.7.2 from the QNAP? Note my main music store will remain in the QNAP.

Thank you, that has changed the server to pCP but now I have no music.
How do I link the server to my music store in the QNAP?

My Qnap is formatted to ext but if you use another then you first need
to enable additional file systems.

23145

Mount Point: What ever you want to call the mount point (I use the name
of folder on the Qnap that holds the music.
Server IP: Qnap Nas IP
Server Share: In my instance the same name as the mount point
Share Type: On mine, NFS
Tick enable
Click on set net mount
Reboot

On the pCP/LMS page you need to fill in the boxes.

Then you need to go to LMS > Settings > and enter the path to your music

This is exact outcome I had trying Spotty with VB 2.3. Are you aware
that we've determined that Spotty will NOT run on Vortexbox 2.3 (even
with good modern hardware). It requires VB 2.4 to work. I upgraded my

Yes I did, LMS 7.9.1 won't solve your problem. You have to upgrade to
VB2.4. It turned out to be pretty easy with the new image approach,
other than the 24 hours it took to restore my music from my USB backup

Double bugger! OK fresh install it is then, did not want to do this for

Lame is now installed and operating. So a bit of an update. If I connect
to LMS remotely via 4G using iPeng & VPN with bitrate limiting on I now
get better results but there are still unacceptable pauses. If I switch
to the old VB2.3 there isn't any problem. I think I may have hit a
limitation of a Pi3 as LMS server. I shall continue to tweak and if I
can get acceptable results I shall post back.

older squeezeplayers (Transporter, boom, SB3) can't play OGG (I think
Touch may be able to play OGG natively, but not sure). Thus they need
the conversion to lossless FLAC to work for all these players.

As I feared BBC made one small change to format so that 1.5.4.4 wouldn't

[SlimDevices: Plugins] Guide to installing BBC iPlayer

2017-07-18 Thread AndyBeevers

Please could you someone provide me with some simple advice on how to
install BBC iplayer.

I am using picoreplayer 3.20. I have installed the bbciplayer that is on
the list of plugins. It plays live ( has no icons) but does not play the
non-live areas. I assume I need to update the plugin to the latest. Not
sure how I do this - do I take the xml URL link and put it in the extra
repositories and then apply and then re-boot? This does not appear to
work

I have read through many of the threads but with the hundreds of
responses it is difficult to follow. Using picoreplayer - do I need to
save anything before I reboot? How does the selection of the plugin get
from in memory onto disk so it can be read when re-booted

So in summary if someone out there can give me a quick guide that would
be great.

2017-07-18 Thread castalla

Here:

1. Unistall existing iplayer - uncheck on active plugins list - apply
(wait for message to restart)

2. Restart LMS (or reboot)

3 Add to Additional repos

Code:

http://downloads.sourceforge.net/project/bpaplugins/V154testrelease-repo.xml

  - Apply

4. bpa's Squeezecenter Plugins v1.5.4.4 test repo section should appear
at bottom of plugins page

5, Check the new plugins you want - Apply (wait for message)

6. Restart LMS

7. New plugin(s) should appear in Active plugins list

8. Inspect and amend any settings for the new plugin(s)

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Guide to installing BBC iPlayer

2017-07-18 Thread bpa

It is better to use this repo

http://downloads.sourceforge.net/project/bpaplugins/betarelease-repo.xml

The V154 repo will only ever stay on V1.5.4.* and is the "experimental"
repo with latest DASH-Flac functionality whereas the betarelease will be
updated to deliver most recent stable version which is currently V1.5.3.
I expect to be able tp update this "beta" repo to 1.5.4 in a few weeks
once the DASH Flac playing has been fully tested - user will then be
automatically notified of the update..

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: CastBridge = integrate Chromecast players with LMS (squeeze2cast)

2017-07-18 Thread malcolm4

Hi Philippe - first off thanks so much for making this awesome plugin!

Seems like I need a bit of help getting Squeeze2cast to run.

I am running LMS on a windows 10 PC and all my music files are .mp3
I have 4 squeezebox, and LMS streams fine to them.

I installed squeeze2cast, followed the instructions, and was delighted
when it connected to my chromecast (chromecast name shows up in the list
of players on the right side of LMS GUI).

The problem I'm having is: When I choose music and send it to the
chromecast, the screen on my TV shows the title, but no sound.
(I do get sound when i send videos to the chromecast from my phone.)

Here is what happens:
- I attempt to play one music file on the chromecast.
- The name and album art of the song show up on the TV screen.
- the LMS GUI shows the file playing (seconds elapsed keeps changing)
but no sound comes from teh TV.
- If I turn the volume of the chromecast up and down from the right hand
side of the LMS GUI, I see the volume bar on the TV move instantly.
- If I try to play a second music file, the chromecast does not know it
(tv screen still shows the name of the first music file).

Here is my log file.
Thanks for any ideas!

Two things to take care of

1/ Make sure your Windows has a firewall rules for squeeze2cast.exe
2/ If the firmware of your CC is below 1.25 (you can see that in the
google app), try to upgrade it (power cycle), otherwise go to the plugin
settings and enable the firware 1.24 workaround (Always unload CC
application)

I don't know Domticz at all and I'm not sure what you mean by "only
played on one device". So, just a few comments

- You cannot have synchronization between 2 CC using the LMS
synchronization capabilities (nor between LMS other players and CC)
- If you want synchronization between 2 CC, you must create a sync group
in Google apps, that will create a new "virtual" player in LMS and when
you play audio on it, both CC will play in sync
- If you play on one of the other players, only this one will play, you
*must* use the sync group virtual player to have both to play

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Spotty v1.1.0

2017-07-18 Thread Sounder

Hi,

Spotty won't run on OS X 10.12.5 running LMS 7.8.1. Log says digest does
not match when trying to expand Spotty-1.2.1.zip (see below). Actions
taken so far: disabled the local firewall and the network firewall
doesn't report any policy violation. Performed a clean LMS install to no
avail. Tried to upgrade to v7.9 but this version gets stuck when
pre-caching the artwork and have not been able to fix this issue (I've
devoted a few hours trying to fix this but right now my priority is
getting Spotify to work and LMS v7.7+ should run Spotty without major
issues).

I tried downloading the file directly from the address shown in the log
using two different browsers and both seem to fail leading me to believe
that the file may indeed be corrupt, could somebody corroborate this?

I just installed 1.2.1 on my LMS server (a Wandboard Quad running
Debian); no issues at all. I switched from .wav to .flac transcoding,
since the IMX6 is easily powerful enough, but there was nothing else to
do but enjoy! Great work!

"Digest mismatch" usually means the file didn't download correctly. When asked
to restart LMS, don't do it right away. Wait another minute or two, as the
download might not have finished yet. (Fwiw: that's an issue addressed in 7.9.x)
