Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Synology 7.9.1 packages

2017-08-21 Thread Michael Herger

Unfortunately I won't have time to look into the transcoding issue with
LmsRepack in the near future. I will be traveling a lot and time at home
is limited. If anyone is willing to pick this up, please do! See
'Github' (https://github.com/grofweg/LmsRepack) for info.

Would you have any information as to what to do with those files? I can
easily update the LMS files. But what then? How would one create an
installable package?

For now I updated the LmsUpdate packages to 7.9.1. These packages have
no transcoding issues AFAIK and are up-to-date, but need to be installed
manually!

How so? Could you please give a brief explanation for a noob like me as
to what the difference between the two is? Or point to a posting which
does so already?

v2.3 IIRC is compiled for i386 only. Spotty uses i686 instructions.

Well unfortunately Apple does not officially publish their protocol, so
lots of people have to guess how it works and sometimes what we think is
mandatory is optional or vice-versa. With version of iOS, Apple has made
some changes and typically decided to not use anymore a feature that
obviously is optional but I though was mandatory. AirAudio has also
other opinion on other features ...

Your gave the ReadyNAS Duo to a friend, so how can you play files from
it? I'm puzzled.

Notwithstanding that, LocalPlayer has an option (Direct Local File
Access) to play files from a local device. If that option is on it
might be the reason you can't play networked files. Does LocalPlayer
work with local files on the Windows box? I'd be surprised if it
doesn't. Mind you, I don't use iTunes, so there could some sort of
catch there.

[SlimDevices: Plugins] MusicIP Headless not running in Fedora 26 Linux - script/systemd issues

2017-08-21 Thread matrixed99

Has anyone had any success running MusicIP headless in Fedora 26? After
doing a clean install of Fedora, I'm unable to get the scripts to run. I
have tried running the scripts from /etc/init.d as is, attempted to
modify them to work, tried to convert the scripts to pure systemd
scripts that don't call the original scripts, and converting them to
systemd scripts, but without success.

I am by no means an expert in Linux, but have had a functioning LMS
server on Fedora 4 through 14 with MusicIP for 12 years. Most of the
errors have been "file not found" in referencing the original scrip in
many locations in many variations, but I've been able to get through
these. Much tougher has been the problem where the unit loads and
deactivated it self right away. I have tried service types of simple,
forking and one shot. The only way I can get it to run is on the command
line, changing to the /MusicMagicMixer directory, and running
./MusicMagicServer start/stop.

When working with systemd to run the scripts in /etc/init.d, my
process looks something like this:

sudo systemctl disable /etc/systemd/system/mmserver.service
sudo nano /etc/init.d/mmserver
sudo systemctl enable /etc/systemd/system/mmserver.service
sudo systemctl daemon-reload

At this point, either:
reboot
Or:
sudo systemctl start mmserver.service

I use a similar approach when the systemd script calls the init.d
script

After many days of working with this, I'm at an impass. Anyone had any
success with this, or have any suggestions?
Thanks!

Just tried. Regular plugin (Boom Lijn uitgang) went ok. 3rd party
(AirPlay bridge) no go, failed just like spotty.
It is a Pi3 with no modified v3.21 pcp. Then AFTER the whole config
thing i moved prefs via the LMS page "Save LMS Server Cache and
Preferences to Mounted Drive" and then used "MOve LMS data" (of course
after placing a USB stick and mounted that as lmsprefs)

If i try to activate the Spotty Plugin my LMS will not start anymore.

Not at all? Tried more than once? Did you check your server.log file?

All ich can do then ist a new manuell Installaton of the LMS 7.9.1.

You should never need to install LMS again. Next time this happens,
could you please check whether there's a process called "spotty*" (could
have an annex like -86_64 etc.)?

I read that we must install *IO::Socket::SSL * but i'm not sure where or
how i should do this on my NAS DS214. I'm a rookie in Linux ... and
don't know any programm commands.

If you're running the latest DSM then you should be fine here. No need
to install that module yourself.

There's almost no real reason to re-install LMS. Ever.

Go to Settings/Advanced/Logging, enable DEBUG for server.plugins and
plugin.extensions, check the box at the top to make the change stick
after reboot, apply. Then re-try to install. Reboot when asked. Then
provide your server.log (find the link for the .zip file in
Settings/Information).

*"Spotty Spotify implementation for squeezebox. Not quite connect

If i try to activate the Spotty Plugin my LMS will not start anymore.
All ich can do then ist a new manuell Installaton of the LMS 7.9.1.

NAS: Synology DS214play with Intel Atom CE5335
DSM: DSM 6.1.3-15152 Update 3 - Perl 5.24 installed
LMS: Logitech Media Server Version: 7.9.1 - 1494667952

I read that we must install *IO::Socket::SSL * but i'm not sure where or

Can anyone help me to get Spotify running on my Squeezeboxes?

LMS attempted to update to 1.3.1 but 1.3.0 is persisting. So I
uninstalled 1.3.0, restart etc. and SPOTTY is gone. Ticked on the 1.3.1
SPOTTY, restart etc. and it will not install... have tried 5 times.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Spotty v1.1.0

2017-08-21 Thread edwin2006

Aha, I started with the update from 1.2 to 1. 3 from within lms. That
update failed. After restart lms there was no spotty anymore.
So I thought perhaps I need the latest LMS and so I updated via the
mentioned steps. That's it.
At this moment lms seems to run ok but spotty is gone with the activated
plug-ins. Tried three times to install plugin, all with same result.
After restart lms or reboot pcp no spotty active.
Is there a special step for 1.3.1?
Btw, thnx for helping.
