Hadn't noticed the information bubble first time round:

All testing was done with "Thru" default

GGMM E5 with aac/flac
Revo with flac only (PCM produces slow speech on the BBC Radio streams
as it streams 48k data at 41k)
Soundbar with aac/flac/pcm/mp3 set but only first two used.

Not sure it would help but as the settings are somewhat complicated how
about a dropdown on the thru/flow box.

With all these variables, different levels of UPNP/DLNA implementation
by the manufacturers and an ever growing number of compatible devices
testing is becoming somewhat complicated.

You're tenacity and knowledge in producing these great plugins is much
appreciated.

(Both programs updated to Version 1.0.0.2 this morning while I was
composing this message).

Took me some time of re-reading the code a few times but I think I got
it. The problem was likely happening for players that were in pause
before a group including them is started then stopped. I was using the
"physical" volume, which is 0 in pause, where I should use the
preference volume. Can you please verify with existing version that this
is the way to reproduce the problem and upgrade to 0.5.3

2018-07-25 Thread Michael Herger

Do you want me also to try the test you mention of logging that other
user into Spotify in the Spotty settings and then seeing if that works
too or is above satisfactory test to show that there's nothing about the
network (related to that 2nd iPhone) that was causing the issue.

That would be great, yes.

Can you give me a tip on what to look for in AVG and Windows Defender
settings (ie: port, application, etc) to figure out if either could be
"blocking the announcment broadcast from Spotty"?

Unfortunately no, I don't have any "How To" at hand. Application would
be spotty.exe, port I don't know.

I did a test and logged the other user out of 2nd iPhone Spotify account
and logged that 2nd iPhone Spotify account into same account that Spotty
is logged into (mine) and I *do* see "Dan's Squeeze" show up on that

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Squeezelite-X

2018-07-25 Thread rgdawson

Just uploaded 1.6.2 to store.

This version has the following changes.

- Updated embedded browser library (Chromium Embedded Framework) to
  latest version.
- When AttemptWOL is checked, "Apply" will attempt to reconnect a few
times (allowing time for server to wake up).
- Fixed bug where Current Track info (used in hints and tray menu link
variables) were not getting updated in certain cases.
- On app startup, if it fails to connect to server, SLX will give up
after about 10 tries (80 seconds), limiting the amount of time waiting
  for server to wake up.
- Updated help for Tray Menu Links. There was too much info to fit on
page, so now help comes up in a sub window
- Undocumented feature: if you precede a menu link (URL or @ command)
with *, then it will get executed if you click on a tray notification.
I'm still playing with how to implement GUI for this. I may
introduce a new field for what to do when you click on a tray
  notification.

As usual, it should take 1-3 days to get published.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: squeeze-alexa - DIY secure Alexa integration

2018-07-25 Thread Freddy

I´ve now managed to create the certs for MQTT IOT using the cli.

Stuck on next step though
-
Set up permissions for MQTT
Go to the AWS IoT section (make sure to select the right region), and
you start the setup.

You'll need an IAM policy to grant MQTT access to the squeeze-alexa
Lambda.

Use the helpful included IAM policy to permission topics - remember to
make sure these match your MQTT settings.-

What setup?
Also, I need to create the Lambda squeeze-alexa first before the
transporter (since I should grant MQTT acccess)?

It might be that this require that you have very good AWS skills

Thank you for answering, I`ll got pretty much stuck directly with
generating the certs for IOT :) I`m very new to AWS over all so I didn´t
even have awscli, nor was I able to run the configure (asking for user
etc)
But I´ll continue to try with MQTT since it might be helpful for others

So your plan is to share the same Letsencrypt certs with stunnel in
docker and use this container only for squeeze-alexa?
If you succeed please share, I run my NGINX with Letsencrypt on a nuc
but Docker on a QNAP NAS. So it might be possible for me to use the same
approach.

It seems that stunnel is the preferred way to go but I´m really afraid
to mess up my current NGINX+let´s encrypt setup

That's right you'll need a raw TCP SSL streaming reverse proxy. Again I
recommend using 'stunnel' (https://www.stunnel.org/) for this - it's how
others have got it working.

If you really don't want to / can't, you could 'try HA Proxy'
(https://github.com/declension/squeeze-alexa/issues/3) or even 'try
newer Nginx' (https://github.com/declension/squeeze-alexa/issues/47)
(might even be possible using the DSM one but i doubt it). This way will
be trickier though

Not sure why auto close is not working. Could be caused changes in the

I just tried this again and this time after stopping playback of the
group one of my radios had it's volume set to zero while the other two
players were unaffected. There is nothing in the debug log to indicate
what happens when the volume is restored.slartibartfast wrote:

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Annouce: Squeeze Control, a squeezebox remote app, is now available for Android

2018-07-25 Thread Shozzer

Hi Wayne,

Another query for you please. I notice that whilst using SB Player the
volume for the current track suddenly increases about 10s before the end
of the track. This can come as quite a shock when listening via
headphones! Any suggestions as to what could be causing this?

Thanks.

Steve

All working now. I had disabled aac/flac in filetypes sometime in the
past.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: UPnPBridge = integrate UPnP/DLNA players with LMS (squeeze2upnp)

2018-07-25 Thread ian_heys

I've followed the chromecast and upnp bridge threads since the early
testing days.

I now have eight devices in my home which are identified by these two
plugins, five of which I actively use in my listening.

Since my SB3 days in 2005 my home network has evolved to being NAS Music
Store/PiCore Server and Player and now no SlimDevices/Logitech Hardware.

Without these plugins my listening environment would be much more
utilitarian and much less versatile.

I've carried out a cursory test of these two new plugins on the five
devices I use on a day to day basis with great results. My listening is
confined to listening to my exclusively FLAC 16/41 VBR library for music
and bpa's brilliant BBC iPlayer plugin for live BBC 320k DASH Radio,
with very occasional forays into BBC Listen Again. My listening isn't
that sophisticated and I haven't tested gapless but here's a summary of
my cursory testing with these caveats:

The only issue I encountered was streaming BBC Radio DASH to the Revo
SuperConnect. I will try to see if this is a settings issue, but as the
Revo now natively plays these DASH streams it isn't an issue for me.

thank you for your answer.
For now my concern is to find out how to treat the incoming traffic from
amazon. If my understanding is right, it's not http traffic so i can't
use synology reverse proxy.
(I have several servers like jeedom which i can join on
jeedom.mydomain.fr for example ). Probably i need to open another port
and cannot proxify this service.
