Many protocols (like SMB aka "Windows Shares") handle file ownership and permissions badly, and suffer from other issues as well (file locking etc.) Also keep in mind that the owner of the file on your NAS is not the same as on the shared drive and not the same as on your computer. Access permissions will be influenced by any combination of those. So basically if you use your official Spotify app or web interface you would see your Albums, Artists, podcasts, Thats you Spotify library. Thanks to spotty you can see your Spotify Library in your LMS Library together with your local Library.. So if you go into let say Album Artists you will see both your local albums and albums from Spotify.. all in one place Playlists are different and you still need to go to Spotty and navigate to playlists (for Spotify playlists) Spotify songs from your LMS playlists won't be included in your LMS library unless are also in your Spotify Library.. TBH If you were and going to use LMS playlists in same manner as before I don't think you will see much difference.. randy5419 wrote: > > With Spotty 4, I was hoping to do the same as I do now, except that the > albums currently in my LMS Favorites would be listed in My Library, > which is organized as Artist/Album. You don't need to use connect at all for online library integration. You dont need to be outside of LMS to add to your Spotify Library (and as extension Integrated Library),basically doesn't matter where and how you add songs/albums to your Spotify Library, key is: Albums/artists from your Spotify Albums/artists will be listed in your LMS Albums/artists, not actual playlists.. regardless if Spotify Playlists or LMS Hope that's makes any sense.. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Spotty 4.0 - integrate local library with your Spotify collection (LMS 8+)
I hope you will excuse my novice questions. I installed LMS 8 and Spotty 4 today, and Im unable to get it to work. Spotty does not even show up in My Aps despite that fact that it is listed as an installed plugin in the plugins tab of LMS settings. Im probably doing something stupid, as I suspect that my current use of Spotty 3.1.3 and LMS 7.9.1 is not typical. I do not use connect mode, as I do not ever use Spotify other than through LMS. Specifically, till now my use of Spotty is as follows: (1) I use Spotty 3.1.3 to search for Spotify albums from the LMS web interface on my desktop computer (where LMS is installed), and I add Spotify albums I find to my LMS Favorites, and (2) I select Spotify albums to play from my LMS Favorites using the remote for my player. I have never tried to use Spotify connect. With Spotty 4, I was hoping to do the same as I do now, except that the albums currently in my LMS Favorites would be listed in My Library, which is organized as Artist/Album. I do not currently use playlists, although I want to investigate the possibility of creating artist-specific Spotify playlists that are then listed in my Music Library. Im guessing that using playlists in this manner would require that I create Spotify playlists from outside of LMS, and that I then use the Spotify connect mode of Spotty to play them. Guidance would be greatly appreciated. randy5419's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=70430 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=111923 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

The average ping times are in the 3ms range, so latency should not be an issue. At its worst, what tends to happen is the volume "snaps back" to a prior setting a second, or so, later after being changed, for example, the volume is changed, lets say, from a value of 80 to 50 only to snap back to 80 after playing for some (short) time interval (a second, or two) at 50. I have not yet put a marker in the debug log when something like this happens. On other occasions, sometimes the power-on sequence will miss, for example, switching to the right input, in my case it's preset-3, and sometimes a volume change is not registered at all. All of that, in my mind, is indicative of timing problems, and it could be simple LMS's single-threadness (not a word ;-) manifestation (and that's why it's so random), but otherwise, and most of the time, things are just fine. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] announce: ShairTunes2W - Airtunes on LMS (forked version with Windows support)
Hi - I've been using LMS for years - I have several Classics - nothing else. Have used LMS on XP, Vista, iMac, and as of a couple of months ago W10 on a new PC. I had quite a few issues but all generally good now I've gone to 7.9.3 (interestingly not the version you get by default on the LMS download page - but on the 'nightly' list. Anyway - this issue is something I've only noticed on 7.9.3 unless I've been dreaming and it's never been a thing. Generally, I set my iPhone X on to a playlist or 'station' or just random and 'shair' it to one of by SB Classics - then if I move from room to room generally all my players are synced. So, since my iPhone is sat in the [Kitchen] let's say, being charged, I use the SB Remote control to change tracks (normally skip forwards if I'm not happy with the music). This has stopped working, so to move forwards I have to go back in the kitchen and forward it on the phone. I might be upstairs, so this can be a little annoying. Anybody else noticed this - is it a known issue? Thanks in advance. Part of doing the 90 day trial was, for me, to look if I can get the API working & eventually attempt my hands at a crude plugin for LMS. However, I'm told the Deezer API doesn't support FLAC/HiFi playback at all - is this correct? Thanks for your insights. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] LmsUpdate and LmsRepack - Synology 8.0.* packages
Hi Mankoman, I'm running LMS 8 on a Synology DS215j. It runs on port 9002. I had to apply a path to my radio. There is a thread here somewhere. My Squeezebox Touch didn't need anything extra. It runs on firmware 7.8.0-r16754. My radio runs on firmware 7.7.3-r16676. chirhonix's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=39321 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=111876 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
[SlimDevices: Plugins] Spotty fails to install in MacOS 10.6.8
I have not been able to install Spotty on my old MacBook Pro running MacOS 10.6.8. When I try to enable Spotty in the Plugins tab of the Web Remote Control interface of LMS (by choosing 'Apply') I get a prompt to Restart Server Now/Restart Server Later, but whichever I choose, the Spotty plugin disappears completely from the list of all Plugins. I have tried using probably half a dozen different versions of LMS, but to no avail. I should add that I have had no problems installing Spotty in LMS 7.7.6 running on my other, newer MacBook Pro running MacOS 10.13.6 (High Sierra). Is this just an insurmountable problem with the old OS version? Thanks in advance. I can´t fix the problem, is there anybody out there, who can help? nobody this problems after updateing to the new lms version 8? Will downgrading the lms version back to lms 7.9 solve the problems? My steps/problems are: (1) i updatet my synology DS215j lms from 7.9 to 8. no problems. package run´s very well and smooth for itself, all presets still available (2) my syqueezebox touch, radio and radio ue can´t connect anymore to lms 8, my touch says i have to update my lms-server to a new version (?) (3) i noticed since the update the lms-server runs on port 9002 and not any more on 9000. trying to change this setting in the extended settings of the lms doesn´t work correctl, see the server logfile. it only works temporarily, when i restart the my lms it´s still port 9002, it looses the new setting to 9000. if i change to port 9000 all my touch and radios can connect to lms 8 without any problem. but if i reboot lms-server, same problem. (4) i can´t update my touch to an newer firmware. it only says i can re-install the current one. interesting: if i do this, the touch can connect to lms port 9002 for one time. if i restart touch or the lms on synology, both can´t connect. Seems like LMS8 have to run on Port 9000 all time, but looses settings afer reboot und switches back to 9002, which can´t be reached correctly from my squezebox touch and both radios. Any help solving this? Will downgrading to lms 7.9 be possible and solve the problem? Greetings and thanx for the help and efforts in advance!
