OK, This will work. I should not have been trying to read the
AnsiString as UTF8 when it wasn't. You'll see this fix in next
version.

Thanks for telling me. I have been looking into this. I've been trying
to figure out what encoding is used when the PortAudio library (used by
squeezelite) enumerates audio devices and what to do with the
squeezelite audio command line. As far as I can tell I get a UTF8
encoded string when the host API is "Windows WASAPI", otherwise the
strings appear to be ANSI. Your version was assuming all host API types
were delivering UTF8. What does the output device drop down look like
for you?

I need to get another language installed on my computer and work on
this. I think I will have a solution. I can pass a device index to
squeezelite rather than a string if I have to. But I need to get it
displaying correctly and character encoding is somewhat a mystery to me.
But I will fix this.

You should really burn a SD. This will take you 2 minutes and your
issues will be gone. Reconfiguring LMS seems painful but I can’
guarantee you that it will be way faster than what you’re currently
trying to do.

If when you say Smpsu 600rs you mean the connexelectronix SMPSU600RS
they have a control input which you can drive from GPIO, it'll need a
little circuitry but about the same as an EM relay would.

Possibly use an SSR these can be driven direct from RPi's GPIO quite
expensive but really simple.

RS has a 16A SSR for £16 which I've used before and works well.

If you're not an expert be careful with mains voltages or SMPSU's they
can bite HARD

What would make this even more epic than it is (which is pretty epic),
is for it to have play controls on the lock screen. I've been watching a
fair amount of tennis recently obviously and noticed that the browsers
now have pause/back/forward controls. I think there's an interface they
recently added into W10 for it.

Browse page only shows static ratings - these are added to the sub-title
text by calling ratingString (in utils.js). But you want a rating widget
not string. The only place the rating widget is currently used is
now-playing.js

To be honest, I'm not certain about this. The list code has enough "if"
statements as is, and more will slow scrolling down. Hence my reluctance
to add this.

*Material debug:* 1. Launch via http: //SERVER:9000/material/?debug=json
(Use http: //SERVER:9000/material/?debug=json,cometd to also see update
messages, e.g. play queue) 2. Open browser's developer tools 3. Open
console tab in developer tools 4. REQ/RESP messages sent to/from LMS
will be logged here.

Lot of people using Pis use a GPIO pin+board to turn/off amps.

There are Google Home / Alexah alternatives using a wifi enabled socket
but depends on the brand. For example I did a simple plugin for TP-link

TL;DR: I want to add ratings to tracks individually while browsing an
album.

In the Default and Classic skins it is possible to rate tracks from the
album view. I find it very convenient when listening to an album to be
able to rate songs but not necessarily while they are playing. I don't
always get to it during the song. I asked in 'post 5227'
if Craig would be willing to add that functionality to Material Skin
since it's in the two other skins. He's not, but said that I'm willing
to do so and make a pull request. I'm attempting to do that...and learn
about LMS plugin development and JavaScript all at the same time. Yay!

I've forked the repository and inspected the HTML to see that the
with the @class equal to v-list__tile__sub-title is the place where the
rating stars appear.

My guess is that the current logic says something like: if rating
exists, show it; else show nothing. I would like to change it to: if
rating exists, show it; else show empty rating (that is
clickable/settable). That, to me, means it's not a simple CSS change but
a JavaScript change somewhere.

I've searched the repo and I can't find exactly where that code exists.
I think it's in browse-page.js, perhaps line 163, but I'm not certain.

I do see that some of the JavaScript files are minified. Based on my
extremely limited knowledge, if the file is minified in the distributed
version, there's likely an unminified version elsewhere that the
developer actually uses when making changes. I mention this because my
search has shown that v-list__tile__sub-title is in vuetify.min.js. Like
I said, I don't know enough to know whether a change in this file (or
the file that produces this file) is needed.

Well... My first brainstorm was a context menu for the various choices
of DSTM when you hold down on the *Repeat* icon. You guys beat me to
that one, but on the Windows 10 PC this option does not work. Is it
possible to create the same menu on a PC when the Repeat icon is hovered
over?
That would be cool!
Thanks: Rich

Slarti is correct, LMS and Squeezeplay is possible on a Joggler.

I have a Cisco one with the 2GB imternal memory.

It also is possible to run the same on the O2 Joggler.

In fact, I have just spent a few hours playing with the PNP3 install
that you use and Roobarb's Squeeze.

All in all a rpi is better for LMS (even the original model runs LMS and
Squeezelite on pCP)

However, O2 Joggler with LMS and Squeezeplay 7.8.1-r1002 is currently
blasting my right ear with that
'\"http://media.radiojackie.com/redirector/frontend.m3u8'
(http://media.radiojackie.com/redirector/frontend.m3u8)"

There is not much room left from the install but it does work, even
better would be LMS on one Joggler and Squeezeplay on another.

Let me know know if you want details and I'll knock up a "how to".

Not today :p and at your own risk :)

[SlimDevices: Plugins] picoreplayer - squeezelite - 220v wifi plug

2020-09-11 Thread bisouxxx

Good day,

I'm building an amplifier based on a audiophonics evo DAc rpi 4 and
picoreplayer.
I would like to be able to switch off the 2 smps 600rs when the system
is turn off via the evo dac.
I was going to use a relay but in order to make the system simpler I was
thing in a 220v connected plug ( like for alexa) and drive them via a
433mhz module or wifi or BT.

Is it possible?

Thank you !

Using a Pi is surely a great way to make sure the device will still be
up to date in the future, as its open hardware and the software is
easily upgradable.

Bryston garanties its analog devices for 20years. They stand by their

Things don't look good. I'm not at home now so relying on memory.
1. 7.9.0 is very old and IIRC does not provide info about
IO::Socket::SSL in WebGUI/Settings/Information.
2. Any 7.9.0 SSL/TLS support is likely to be too old (maybe TLS 1.0 but
not newer) and now not allowed by most sites (i.e.pre Heartbleed)
3. I moved plugin respository to github from sourcefoirge because sf
gave many many problems. github may now require use of https to
download the plugin ZIP itself. The pointer to this respository is part
of "LMS 3rd parties" and may use http to get the list of plugins.
4. The release repository URL will point to 2.8 - it does not have
version control and allow access to earlier version.
5. Do you have a test PlayHLS repository URL for 2.2 in WebUI
Settings/Plugins but I think 2.8 will supercede so may explain the
behaviour.

I uses PnP III as opposed to SqueezeOS (which I suspect more people
use).
https://www.jogglerwiki.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2567

Why? Because LMS in installed!

You CAN get LMS with SqueezeOS, but for whatever reason which I haven't
got to the bottom of, there isn't enough disk space internally, so it
means you have to hook up a USB disk before installation, which I'm not
prepared to do.
You'd think that with all the bloat you get with PnP III that it should
be the other way round!

If anyone can get me an alternative solution for SqueezePlay with
(newish) LMS on a Joggler all installed internally, please let me know!
