Presumably you mean LMS version 7.9.2. There are a few people who have
it successfully working on LMS 7.9.2, but it is not recommended. The
plugin needs to communicate over HTTPS and it works much better over
later versions of LMS. Please upgrade your LMS.

I need to show subscriptions as provided by their API, I can't change
that.
I have thought of adding the ability to store multiple accounts and
associate accounts with devices. Unfortunately that would be a lot of
work due to the way account credentials are currently stored and
provided, so I'm unlikely to embark on that, but of course, it's open
source so anyone else is more than welcome to have a go!

LMS handles updates, not Material.

*Material debug:* 1. Launch via http: //SERVER:9000/material/?debug=json
(Use http: //SERVER:9000/material/?debug=json,cometd to also see update

Ideally, It would be better if you could first delete the config file by
clicking the "erase" on the screen below. You will lose all settings
made for the bridge. Let me know if you don't want to do that, I'll tell
you another way.
- Look at screenshot below where in red are the important things
- First make sure that all settings highlighted by red ellipses are the
same, then click on the "apply" button
- Then click on the "clean" button.
- Play something, (make/wait till) it fails and stop playback
- click on "view" on the "logging" line - it will open another tab on
your browser. In that tab, type "ctrl-A" to select all then "ctrl-C" to
copy all and paste in your favorite text editor. This is my log
- then click on "view" on the "configuration" line and do the same
process as above

Ok. This looks promising but I have two questions.

1. What volume setting is defined for Quick Select 1 in your AVP?

2. Can you generate another debug with a power on, followed by a play, a
pause, and then a power off?

Thanks.

I'm not familiar with the internal workings of LMS or Material so if you
say "No" I accept that as definitive. I only ask if things can be done
out of ignorance but am grateful that you always come up with a
solution. Have just given v2.3.0 a try and it effectively does as I
asked in a different way - thank you for putting in the work to do that.

I said it would make things easier simply on the basis that it could be
done directly from the home screen so less layers to go through. Having
said that your implementation is from the home screen anyway so just as
easy.

Again, many thanks.

Unfortunately no and no.

Large buffers for squeezelite can worsen the experience. Not a solution

There are individual preference files for both SDT and CCH. To find
them look on the Settings --> Information tab of the web interface for
location of the "Preferences Folder". This location will have a
subfolder named "plugin". In this folder you will find
"superdatetime.prefs" and "customclockhelper.prefs".

You can stop LMS on your new PC and copy those files from the original
LMS installation to the new PC. When you start LMS again you should all
your settings and screen formats are back.

Good luck.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Denon AVP Control Plugin

2021-02-21 Thread SamY

Hi Chris (and anyone else reading this). I have a favor to ask. I think
I see a more efficient and straightforward way to handle the Quick
Select process in the plugin, which could simplify the network
state-handling logic quite a bit. While I'm sure it would work for my
Denon AVR-3311ci (based on studying about a million lines of debug
output in the last week), I'm a little worried that other AVR's may
handle the MSQUICK command differently, specifically in the responses
sent back to the client. Mine sends back literally hundreds of responses
(all but one of which we ignore), comprising a complete list of every
receiver setting, including many that I didn't even know existed. My
fear is that this behavior is not typical and that maybe is symptomatic
of a bug in my AVR firmware. In any case, to alleviate my concerns, I
would appreciate it if you could run a short test whenever you have a
chance (assuming you are using a Quick Select command in your setup).
Just turn debug on and then do a "power on" followed by a "power off"
and upload the resulting debug log.

Thanks!

P.S. If you are able to do this, please let me know the model number of
your AVR.

What I can do, however, is add a context menu to 'My Music' allowing

Can't just overwrite some AnyEvent in LMS by 7.* for WS has ANyEvent is
the key to LMS scheduled and single threadedness - it is used by LMS for
all I/O - DNS, HTTP etc.

The alternative would be to see if the WS stuff can be made to work
under 5.* but IIRC it is unlikley.

Yes - sounds like a plan. I guess worse case would be that Windows was
a non-starter for some reason, but you could have an optional
installable extension for Linux that overwrote the 5.x to add WS
support. Anyhow, happy to play around with anything on PCP or raspbian
(my day to day is pcp, test is raspbian on Pi)

I'm rather a latecomer to Material having used OrangeSqueeze (dev now

My web app arch knowledge is very limited (my background is in the
underlying layers) so forgive my naivety but if the Classic skin was
changed then it'd be possible with Material? Given the above I presume
you've gone down all the different avenues of independent APK, LMS mods
etc. so I'll do some digging. :)

My apologies. You are of course correct. I managed to click on two old
subscriptions which happen to have only one episode showing! I have
checked others and that works as you described.

One of the issues we have is that each user has their own favourite
programmes/bookmarks/subscriptions but you can only have one BBC Sounds
account on the server plugin. This can result in a large list of
subscriptions, etc. Would it be possible to have a way to filter/group
subscriptions for different users/devices? I appreciate this probably is
not feasible as each bookmark and subscription has to be set up on a
single BBC Sounds account.

Many thanks.

I see the approach to be using LMS on Linux to test an update to
AnyEvent 7.*. The AnyEvent 7.* module is easily built for Linux but
changes to some LMS core modules are likely.

Upgrading AnyEvent to 7.* on Linux should be feasible as I think LMS use
of AnyEvent facilities is limited and this is a upgrade not a
reimplementation.

The main difficulty will be building for Windows - if a new AnyEvent
module built then I would hope there would be no major issues as they
should have been ironed out testing on Linux.

That is not the case. Selecting a subscription (or a series from a
search or any other places to see series) shows a list of all available
programmes in that series in date reverse order.

Also, if you have bookmarked a programme (or selected a programme any
other way, e.g. from category browsing) you can select "all episodes"
from the programmes menu and see all episodes in date reverse order.

Subscriptions only show the latest episode for each programme. If you
have missed a few episodes of a particular programme, I don't think it
provides an easy way to get to a list of all episodes for that
particular programme (in date reverse order) so you review and carry on
from where you left off.

Looking at updating AnyEvent is on my (long) todo list as it would be
useful for another idea I have.

IIRC Beside the "whether it works ", Michael had more basic concerns
because of problems in building any library module for Perl for Windows
(stuck as 5.14 as longer supported by vendor). Around same time there
were problem update SSL libraries but Ralphy managed to build new SSL
libraries which meant LMS got reasonable "https" support. Summary - i

Hmm ; that's a shame. Global claim to be the largest radio group in
Europe now with 25 million people listening in the UK each week, so, on
the very large assumption that all of the globalplayer stations use the
same approach, it would be a really nice addition, and now the HD
streaming thrown into the mix.

Did Michael comment further on the need for backward compatibility on
AnyEvent? From that thread, it looked like he was saying it would need
backward compat., which makes perfect sense, vs. there was some kind of
known issue with 7.x vs. 5.x. Was it more "we don't know if it works"
vs. "there's known problems". If it's the former, is it worth a
conversation with Michael to see if upgrading AnyEvent is an option, as
that seems to have the widest benefit, vs. writing some kind of

Currently, there are no calls in output_pa.c to run the power script, so
you can't just enabe the power script build option for windows.

I tried to add support for -S on windows in the past, however, the power
script would only ever trigger three times and never again after that.

[SlimDevices: Plugins] GlobalPlayer (UK) Plugin - ClassicFM etc.?

2021-02-21 Thread psketch

Now that @expectingtofly is spoiling us with lots of great addins, I
wondered if anyone had had a look at the feasibility of a plugin for
GlobalPlayer. For me, this would be for ClassicFM mostly, but there are
loads of stations in their stable now. The main advantage vs. a stream
is they now claim to offer HD audio through their app if you sign up for
an account.

No idea of course if there's an API available of course, but if they're
restricting it to people signed in with an account, I guess there's
reason for them to want to enable as broad access as possible - more
ability to profile us vs. if we just listen to a stream.

I agree the BBC Sounds plugin makes it easier to browse this amount of

The old BBCiPlayerExtra method of "browsing" doesn't really work when

Hello Philippe,

You are conversing with a user, not a computer expert. I am well past
my 70th birthday and certain things are beyond my everyday use.

I sent you what I could retrieve from the program actually whilst it was
running. As for you asking for a config file, unless you point me in
the right direction, then you have little or no hope of getting one. I
manage to do, what I do, on computers, but I was brought up, in a time
when two golden syrup tins joined by string, was the means of contact!
I've had to find my way round computers, no one has been around to point
me in the right direction. Most of what is discussed in these forums
goes over my head I'm afraid.

I obviously want to help you, as much as I want to help myself.

All I can say is that the bridge works as you would want, in an as
supplied form. In other words, (my words), I have not ticked or altered
anything. When I found out about the "flow" setting, in a post
elsewhere, I started the flow setting and that's when the problems
started. I didn't alter anything else. I didn't change the setting
from none, to flac to MP3, I initially left well alone. That's when it
all went wrong.

And yesterday, whilst it was playing individual tracks to my HiFi, it
also started playing music to an internet radio and I had not selected
that radio to receive any music.

I'm sorry if my basic knowledge isn't up to scratch. I try my best, but
fail more often than succeed.

Dave M.
