Hello garrym, Spotty is gone. A restart of LMS did not solve the trick. Even reinstalling Spotty did not help. I will take the steps you suggested to verify that is the case, though. If that is the case, how would we solve it? This is where I thought a queue might come in handy - listen to requests that came in while the notification was playing and repeat them once we restore, but maybe theres a better way? When you say "it would block the server", would that mean the entirety of the server, including playback and all that or just whatever thread handles commands? Cause I would be okay with that part being frozen during the announcement if that's the easiest way out of this race condition. mots's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=71103 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=109096 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

[SlimDevices: Plugins] Spotty connection - Spotty Helper app
Hi all, i've read through a bunch of the posts, and couldn't find an answer, so i hope i'm not double posting a solved issue. We've used Spotty since it was built, but i'd say every couple months have a week or so, where we lose connection, and through sheer luck, somehow get it re-connected. Well we've updated computers this time, and for the life of me, i cannot get Spotty to connect. I've gone through all the connection settings several times, but any time i try and launch Spotty on our squeezebox Touch, it errors out. If i try and do it on the web controller, a command prompt box pops up for about 3 seconds, then goes away. I suspect i'm missing the spotty helper app, but i cannot figure out where to grab it from. I'm using LMS 8.2.0, and Spotty Version 4.6.2. Any insight as to why it wouldn't be loading the helper app, and how to fix it? thank you! ericheartsu's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=72168 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=115265 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

On the louder side JB Radio, RP, Planet Pootwaddle. Also, compared to much of my music library (I am not using replay gain, maybe I should be...). Jim's Juke Radio was quite low when he launched (development), don't know if this has changed. Maybe another perspective is that RP is at a proper gain level and others are just lower (and JB Radio is too high). I think for me, having to turn up the lower stations is undesirable, because I know what it going to happen when I switch to another, say the next day, surprise! Paul the App is working fine now. Quick start with all Radio stations and no slow down of the settings page. I think it might have been a DNS issue. I have Putty and ran TOP but couldn't see any unusual CPU usage when loading the plugin. It's working fine now. Albeit with only two stations enabled. [SlimDevices: Plugins] Spotty App not visible on the browser LMS GUI
Dear all, recently I have a strange issue with SPOTTY (latest version) on my debian LMS installation. The Spotty-App does not show up on the LMS menu. On the devices as such this is working fine. Any idea to make the app visible on the browser frontend again? If you have command line access to the box then you might be able to run "top" or some other performance monitoring tool to get an idea about what is happening. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Radio Now Playing plugin
I just tried their iOS app ... and it has cover art. I suspect it is getting it from Apple though. I have not checked but there is an easy API from Apple that can be fed artist/track and it comes back with cover art. However, there is restrictions on its use and my first reading was that I could not use it without providing a clearly visible link back to Apple ... I presume for the listener to go and buy it. So I have not done it. No I don't think there is a way to do that. I do this with pCP with a VPN back to my firewall which works well. You may be able to do this with a travel router Jeff *Want a webapp ?* Get SqueezeLite-X ! https://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?108550-Announce-Squeezelite-X=903953=1#post903953 Jeff07971's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=49290 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=115260 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

I don't believe it has album art I have had a look at this one and I think I can do something with it. You should already be seeing track info when LMS - or the form Artist: Joe Williams & Count Basie Orchestra Title: N082C037M Teach Me Tonight I think I will be able to add the album name and also remove the first word from the title (which I assume they are using for internal tracking but I cannot see a reason to present it in LMS). Plus I think I can show progress bar because they have start time and duration. They do not have cover art available. I don't, for now at least, try to go out and find cover art based on artist/track/album ... although I do think that it is something that maybe LMS could be extended to do so that all radio handling plugins could benefit from it. Of course, it would mean changing LMS and plugins for it to happen. I could call out from the plugin to get art from Discogs etc - like MAI does but I don't really want to re-invent that. Also - there is always the risk that incorrect art is returned - e.g. when there are 2 artist with the same name and the image source does not know how to differentiate based on the track/album name. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Radio Now Playing plugin
Let's see if others report the same thing. On startup it iterates through the stationdata files in the plugin to ingest the configuration. I suppose that a very very slow disk could make that take a few seconds at most. >From then on the station data is held in memory. When you go to the settings page it iterates through the list of broadcasters (in memory now) to build the set of checkboxes. The amount of time that takes is dependent on the number of broadcasters - not on whether or not they are enabled or disabled. So enabling/disabling should not make any difference there. When running it should only be memory that is consumed by having more or less enabled broadcasters - but should not make any significant difference to CPU time. Sounds strange. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Radio Now Playing plugin
Paul, I've managed to install latest beta but it initially slowed down my LMS to a crawl. Opening the Radio Now Playing App took 15 seconds to display the stations, and most times didn't work at all. Similar problem getting to Settings/Plugins. Discovered that the delay is greatly reduced when trimming the list of stations to the ones I'm interested in. Conclusion for me is that system slows down the more stations that are presented in the App. *Music Store and VPN Server: *Synology DS215J NAS *Study Server:* LMS 8.2.0 on Pi 4B pCp 8.0.0/IQ Audio DAC+ *Refurbished 1962 RCA Stereo Console Server/Player *LMS 8.2.0 on Pi 4B pCp 8.0.0/IQ Audio DAC+ *LAN Players: x2:* pCp 8.0.0 on Pi 3B / IQ Audio DAC+ *LAN Player/ADC* pCp 8.0.0 on Pi 3B / IQ audio Codec + *PC Players: x2: *Squeezelite on Windows 10 PC. *VPN Mobile & Car Player:* Material/SqueezePlayer on Android Phone ian_heys's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=2629 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=115201 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Radio Now Playing plugin
Beta 0.0.9a now available with an attempt to handle things for installations without a working HTML::TreeBuilder The only consequence, for now at least, is that you will not see track details for RadioBlues Flac. In which case you should disable that station in the plugin settings and restart LMS ... then you will get the default from LMS ... which in this case will be the artist and track names but no cover art. Also added ZOG - https://zog.net.au I added this station because it appears in a list of hi-res stations and no track details appear when playing in LMS. To get the details (track, artist, label and year) I do some regex parsing of some plain text from the broadcaster's site. I'll let him know so that, hopefully, he will keep that format unchanged (at least via the URL I am using).
