Hi bencat, Thanks for sharing. Do your players have different names? (Under Settings/Reboot) Also, what are the command line options in Squeezelite? hw:0/hw:1 enables hardware volume control and "-C 5" automatically closes the playback of Squeezelite after 5 seconds of inactivity. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Max2Play Webinterface for Mediaclients (Audioplayer, Squeezeserver, Airplay, XBMC)
Hello Slimdevices Community, We just released a beta image based on the new Raspbian Buster release for the Raspberry Pi 4B models. You can 'download the free image' (https://www.max2play.com/en/max2play-image/) from our website right now. This new beta is compatible with all Raspberry Pis and the LMS 7.9 nightly. In connection with the new release, we also have a global update for all Max2Play Raspberry systems to Max2Play 2.50. For an overview of all the changes and improvements in this update, head to our 'Change Log' (https://www.max2play.com/en/changelog-max2play/). We appreciate all feedback on this new image, either here in this topic or in our 'Forums' announcement thread' (https://www.max2play.com/en/forums/topic/announce-new-max2play-image-for-raspberry-pi-4/). Indeed, we are working hard to have a new beta image out as soon as possible. The LMS in connection with 4GB model is also what we found most interesting for Max2Play. It seems to work really well. Hi everyone, First of all thank you for your continued support and interest in our project! Our current 2.49 image is indeed not compatible with the new Raspberry Pi 4B. As mentioned above, the new Raspbian Buster release is necessary for the 4B to boot. We are currently still evaluating the possibilities and challenges of the new Pi and will let you know right away, when there is a new beta release available based on Raspbian Buster. You can also hop over to our forums if you have any specific feedback or requests for the new Pi with Max2Play. Hi folks, I'm excited to share a new extensive article series with you! Mario, who has been our intern at Max2Play for the past few months, has written a very special series which deals with 3 exemplary zones in a budget-friendly multiroom system, one zone detailed in each article. The series is aimed at both HiFi beginners and audiophile veterans, because in each article there is are detailed step-by-step guides with instructions as well as helpful tips on our software and plugins for optimization. In the first article, you will find out everything about the project as a whole and the upcoming articles. We also explain the basics for building a multiroom system, including Raspberry Pi and sound cards. The next article will come out at the start of next week, so stay tuned ;) 'Part 1: Setting Up a Multiroom Audio System with Max2Play' (https://www.max2play.com/en/2019/01/step-by-step-multiroom-audio-setup-with-max2play/) Max2Play's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=66120 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=101856 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Hi Tony, Do you restart your system regularly and if so do you properly shut down the Pi before removing the power source? Most issues with longtime users' setups are connected to defective microSD cards. So if you have a second one where you could copy your system onto with our image burner plugin, you can test this. You can also check your console output when connected to a screen during booting, to see at which process your reboot sequence takes up this much time. This way you might be able to isolate the source of the issue as well. For further support from my end you can also head over to our forums where I'll be able to see and respond to your request right away. Before the year closes out, we put together some new HowTo articles to give newcomers to Max2Play the chance to check out some of our more advanced features and plugins. We hope you can find the time during the holidays to check these applications and their usefulness in your audio setups. All these instructional articles are listed in our 'HowTo section on our website' (https://www.max2play.com/en/how-tos/#m2p-features) and are available in German and English. We recently tried to add new ones with features that are either hidden gems of the Max2Play system or have been popular for a long time but only detailed in our forums or somewhere else. I hope you enjoy them and can find something fresh to try out :) '*_API-Examples_* (free)' (https://www.max2play.com/en/how-tos/howto-use-http-requests-with-max2play/) -> Our new shortcut overview plugin that dynamically compiles major commands for Squeeze playback, Jivelite control, Kodi and the Max2Play system '*_MultiSqueeze_* (premium)' (https://www.max2play.com/en/how-tos/howto-additional-audio-outputs-with-multisqueeze/) -> Our popular Squeezelite creator plugin, select how many instances of Squeezelite you want to run and set your different audio outputs to them '*_Callblocker_plugin_* (free)' (https://www.max2play.com/en/how-tos/howto-call-blocker-with-tellows-and-max2play/) -> Based on the popular tellows Callblocker software, this plugin lets use your Pi to automatically block callers from a custom blacklist via VoIP to better manage harassment calls *_openHAB_Presence_Check_* (coming soon) -> add a presence check to an openHAB server binding for your smartphone to let your Squeezebox system automatically playback once you arrive in your local network and stop playing once you leave (currently working on it, will add the link once it's live) Max2Play's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=66120 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=101856 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Hi slimdevices community, we need your feedback! We are currently working on a hardware control plugin, a compilation of easy-to-use software solutions for various popular control elements in Max2Play. We already have solutions for rotary encoders and infrared remotes in our current beta of the plugin. Additionally, plugin we have installed a new solution for smart remotes to be ideal Jivelite control bindings. Now we want to know what controls you want. What would you like to use to control your Max2Play devices? What is already working, or what have you gotten to work, in your setup and should be added? Does the smart remote solution from the JustBoom Plugin work with other plug & play remotes? Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Max2Play Webinterface for Mediaclients (Audioplayer, Squeezeserver, Airplay, XBMC)
Hi slimdevices forums! We recently published a new Instructable based on our head developer's Max2Play + LMS Setups in bath and bedroom. It includes different tips on setting up new multiroom zones with Max2Play and Squeezebox software as well as new info on using our free API-Examples plugin to quickly implement various commands and tasks like play, new song, etc. by copy-pasting from our web interface to a home automation system of your choice. 'Check it out on Instructables.com ' (https://www.instructables.com/id/Smart-Music-in-Bedroom-and-Bath-With-Raspberry-Pi-/) Here's an excerpt: 25837 -For the bedroom setup we built wooden boxes where our speakers would fit in. Then we cut out holes of the wall, which had the size of those boxes. Finally, we screwed the boxes tight into the wall. All hardware is still accessible through a revision opening. To control the speakers, you may use a smartphone app or connect the player with existing home automation buttons e.g. on the door of your bedroom. You could add a long button push to activate the sleep timer and a short push for Play/Pause. The Squeezebox Server, thanks to its open interface, offers many possibilities to configure any commands. Fitting HTTP and CLI commands can be found in our API-Examples plugin which is also preinstalled and can be activated free in our inactive Plugins section under Settings/Reboot. Example HTTP command for "start playing": http://SQUEEBOXSERVERIP:PORT/status.html?p0=play&player=MACADDRESS- +---+ |Filename: FSEH821JMYWTRTT.LARGE.jpg| |Download: http://forums.slimdevices.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=25837| +---+ Max2Play's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=66120 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=101856 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Hi fahzz, Thanks for question. We support Spotify with two distinct solutions. MHerger's Spotty solution for LMS Spotify and the Spotify Connect player plugin for dedicated players. We also have a Google Music solution for the LMS that is installable from our web interface. Otherwise, the LMS solutions for other services should also work. We have users with Qobuz, TIDAL and Deezer plugins running on their Max2Play with Squeezebox, but we are not as familiar with these LMS solutions. As Max2Play uses the default LMS installation, all 3rd party plugins for these services should work as well. BLUETOOTH UPDATE: We just released a new beta with our Squeezebox Server Integration for Bluetooth added! It works just like the last versions integration, except a lot smoother than before and with a little less latency. Just make the beta update, install the Squeezebox Server Solution at the bottom of the Bluetooth menu, pair you phone or tablet and the Squeezebox Server on the device (must be on the same Pi) automatically starts audio playback from your paired bluetooth device and stops once you stop. Afterwards, it will also resume its current playlist or whatever you had playing on it. I tested today on a 3B+ and it worked great. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Max2Play Webinterface for Mediaclients (Audioplayer, Squeezeserver, Airplay, XBMC)
I'm not sure I understand your issue. - You can download any image and update to our newest version, 2.46. - There are image downloads for our older Jessie Image (2.44) and our newer Stretch Image (2.45) from the time they got released. - We might update the download itself as well, but updates are generally there to quickly be able to push changes and fixes out to everybody at the same time. - It does not matter if you were to download 2.45 and update to 2.46 or get the image directly as 2.46. All features would be the same, the update is done in an instant and there's no reboot required afterwards. I hope this clears things up. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] picoreplayer raspberry pi 3 bluetooth?
Hi guys, I just wanted to clarify our Bluetooth Plugin's current status. We had a few users that reported dropouts after a while of playback (usually ca. 3 hours). We were able to find the source of this error. The built-in Bluetooth module of the RPi3 is not a high priority for the system and gets unreliable when the computer has too many other processes. We were able to confirm this by running several tests with USB Bluetooth dongles without any dropouts. This is especially interesting for people who want to run a BT speaker as another Squeezebox zone. Here, the requirements for 24/7 use would be a speaker that does not go into sleep mode and a BT dongle on the Raspberry Pi. Sure, all our improvements and updates are first published in the beta and if we get enough positive feedback, or our testing was positive and we want to release a new version, they are all included in the next official "stable" release. By the way, we also just published our new Raspbian Stretch Beta for which we are now looking for feedback (preferably in our forums). Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Max2Play Webinterface for Mediaclients (Audioplayer, Squeezeserver, Airplay, XBMC)
Hi everybody, Sorry about the late response. I'll go through in order. @BigTony: You can just remove the tick for "autostart" under the Squeezelite section of the Audioplayer tab and click "save", as man in the van mentioned. Then, you can either manually stop the player and it won't start up again or reboot the device and the player should be gone from your server's list. @castalla: Yes, you can back up your image with any normal imager software. If you are referring to' this guide' (https://www.max2play.com/en/wiki/creating-an-image-backup/), please let us know how we can make it more comfortable in the future. If you do not want to use another SD card for the back-up you can also just use a SambaShare to access the created .img file from any other device in your network and copy it. @man in the van: Thanks for the quick replies and exchange in my absence. :) Max2Play's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=66120 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=101856 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Hi guys, I just wanted to let you know that we were finally also able to recreate this issue with our installer and fix it. The updated version of the Google Music Plugin Installer in Max2Play is already included in our newest Beta Update and will also be included in our next release: Max2Play 2.45 For now, you can already fix your Google Music implementation by: - Updating your Max2Play to our newest Beta - Installing the Google Music Plugin from our Squeezebox Server web interface menu again - Restarting the Squeezebox Server - Logging in again in the Plugin Settings (don't forget the mobile ID for verification) Max2Play's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=66120 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=105800 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Hi guys, Sorry about the late reply! I will start looking into this thread more often. However, for technical issues and requests I would like to refer you to our own forums where I can help you more directly and not spam the Squeezebox forums with replies ;) Nonetheless, I'd like to help you here as well and keep this thread as an open channel of communication. If you have any feedback on how I could improve this and what you would like to hear more of (e.g. whether I should keep this forum posted on our new features), let me know. @Freddy: Please check the installation of the GMusic plugin again. It worked the last time we checked. Regarding your last post, I'm not sure what you mean. SB Radio should not be running Max2Play. Updating to our most current version should work on all Raspberry Pi's. The LMS installation should be version 7.9. @teetitup: You can try using the URL commands. In our beta plugin for 'Voice Control' (https://www.max2play.com/en/addons/), there a few default commands you can have a look at. Generally, most commands from Max2Play can be sued for automation with HTTP requests. I hope these answers did not come too late for you. If you have any further issues, again I would like to refer you to 'our forum' (https://www.max2play.com/en/topics/)s. There, we also discuss the harder problems with our head developer every week and subsequently give detailed updates on how to fix it and whether we can add a direct fix to our OS in the next version. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] For the brave only: the Spotty Spotify implementation
Hi guys, Thanks again to Michael for the great implementation. We also tested it under our newest Max2Play and it works like a charm. Just make sure: - That you have the official Spotify plugin active as well as the new Spotty and NOT the any of the third-party Spotify plugins. – That you have a MySqueezeBox.com-Account. – That your Players’ MAC addresses are active in that Account (“Players” in MySqueezeBox.com) – That your Spotify Plugin is active and your premium login is entered and active in MySqueezeBox.com (My Apps -> Spotify in MySqueezeBox.com) We also just created a Max2Play Plugin for Spotify Connect based on the same open-source librespot library. It lets you login directly from the Max2Play web interface and effectively turns your Max2Play device into a Spotify Connect player, recognized by any Spotify app under the name of your device. It can run simultaneously with Squeezelite and switch playback with a few parameters added. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Max2Play Webinterface for Mediaclients (Audioplayer, Squeezeserver, Airplay, XBMC)
Hi Mynb, Sorry about the late response. I am happy that you are progressing! You should definitely get 2.40 and check out' our Changelog' (https://www.max2play.com/en/changelog-max2play/) to find out what has changed and what's been improved. The static IP feature simply has not been requested by a lot of users and we do not want to add features that might confuse or impede on the features more casual users are mainly using. Of course, you can always write a simple plugin for purposes like these and share it with the community. Flysurfer actually recently did 'a video on how easily you can create one' (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gWwQ0A1HoWY). Your issues with the Password plugin are not entirely clear. I just tested it to make sure there is no current error. You should just be able to enter a user and pw, save and then once you want to access the web interface it will ask you for a login on any browser. The SU restriction is also similarly to prevent new users from playing around in root. Regarding the command line options of Squeezelite for parameters we linked a list of all possible options in the web interface, here it is: https://www.max2play.com/en/wiki/command-line-options-for-squeezelite/ Max2Play's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=66120 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=101856 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Max2Play Webinterface for Mediaclients (Audioplayer, Squeezeserver, Airplay, XBMC)
If you bought the SD card from us, the quality should not be an issue. In this case, a freshly burnt image would indeed be the best solution. We actually recently released our new 2.40 image which offers sound card support for HiFiBerry, JustBoom, etc. without needing a dedicated image (in addition to a few other nifty improvements like automatic expansion of the filesystem). Just head to our download page, download the image and burn it with a simple software like WinDisk32Imager. Here is a' small wiki' (https://www.max2play.com/en/wiki/burning-the-image-onto-memory-card/) detailing the steps. Also, here is a' general starter guide' (https://www.max2play.com/en/wiki/starter-guide/) with helpful infos. Regarding the IP, we offered a feature of static IP for LAN networks with using several Pi's in order to prevent the router from assigning different IP's on every reboot. However, this is currently the only parameter we offer to be configured. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Max2Play Webinterface for Mediaclients (Audioplayer, Squeezeserver, Airplay, XBMC)
Hi pippin, Now it went faster than expected. We actually already implemented a JSON interface in our newest beta (just click the beta update in the web interface of any M2P device). You can then immediately start using the interface in the Audioplayer plugin for the equalizer. All necessary documentation can be found under "http://[m2p-devicename]/apidoc"; and all the equalizer values are accessible with the command "http://[m2p-devicename]/plugins/max2play_settings/controller/Squeezeplayer.php?apijson=1&use_equalizer=1";. This should be enough to help you utilize the equalizer in your great app. Max2Play's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=66120 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=101856 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Max2Play Webinterface for Mediaclients (Audioplayer, Squeezeserver, Airplay, XBMC)
Hi pippin, Sorry about the misunderstanding. The equalizer does not currently have its own interface. However, a JSON interface could be built without much effort or hassle. If you are interested in integrating it into iPeng, we could surely look into putting something together for that. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Max2Play Webinterface for Mediaclients (Audioplayer, Squeezeserver, Airplay, XBMC)
No problem, as I said, the selection for Equalizer use in our web interface is "plugequal" in the advanced settings of Squeezelite, the dropdown for "sound card". Once active, you can find the equalizer in the lower half of the Audio Player plugin's menu. It should look like this and is pretty straightforward in its usage. [SlimDevices: Plugins] Bluetooth Pairing with Smartphone/Tablet for Max2Play
Hi guys, I wanted to start a new thread for the huge update we did for our Bluetooth plugin. Previously, the Bluetooth plugin was only able to pair Bluetooth speakers with the Raspberry Pi to use them as an additional audio output for an instance of Squeezelite, Shairport or MPD. The automatic repairing and simple interface allowed for just one easy configuration with a one-click search of the BT devices, a click on "Reconnect" and the speaker could be used time and again afterwards without any effort. Now, the Bluetooth pairing is also possible with smartphones and tablets. In the same vein as the connection with a BT speaker would occur, you can now pair and automatically repair your Raspberry Pi 3 with a Bluetooth-enabled device for input. In order to make this possibility worthwhile, especially for users of the Squeezebox Server, we added two distinct options to channel that Bluetooth input through your RPi3. One is the simple, direct connection with Squeezelite or Shairport; by selecting the "Pulse" feature in both players. This way, the active player automatically selects your primary sound output device (e.g. dedicated I2S sound card) and feeds it with the playback coming from your smartphone or tablet. This allows you to use apps and sound files you might not have been able to put out through your Raspberry Pi before like the Audible App for Android which does not allow DLnA output or a direct output of your voice to use as a PA. And therein lies the other, even better option to connect your Bluetooth stream to your RPi3. We made a one-click solution that automatically adds a favorite channel to your Squeezebox Server (installed on your RPi3) which will put out the stream from your Bluetooth device to all selected Squeeze players. This enhances the possibilities of a PA solution with your Squeezebox Server even further. You could now easily make an announcement to all your players in the house with your phone. The great thing about this feature is that we added the possibility for the Bluetooth stream to interject itself into the Squeezebox Server once started to automatically play the output of Bluetooth once active (beta update required). I urge you to check it out, flysurfer has been putting a lot of work into it and is working on enhancing the experience as I write this. Just to prevent the inevitable criticism, we are aware of the limitations of Pulse Audio output. This solution is not intended to replace HiFi sound systems, or AirPlay, or anything for that matter. It is just a great new feature we thought up that has not been done yet in this capacity and was requested by a lot of our users. The > HDMI out is not useful to me since the receiver I intend to use does not > have an HDMI port. Any help you can provide is greatly appreciated. > Thanks! Hi usc95, Firstly, the hard drive section of our Filesystem/Mount menu includes this information: -Important: the maximum partition size is 2TB. If using larger disks you need to divide the disk space into partitions smaller than 2TB.- Fat32 is definitely supported, however, I am not sure what you mean by the option of storing movies, generally, the normal types, exFAT, FAT32, NTFS are supported. You just have to partition the 3 TB into 2 TB and 1 TB. Regarding the USB-DAC, Raspberry Pi offers one general USB sound card driver. When you select the option "USB-DAC" in the Raspberry Settings, this driver is activated. You do not need a specific image to activate your card, the activation works all, the HiFiBerry and IQaudIO images are just for users with those sound cards since they automatically enable the sound card from first start and can be selected for free and with a preconfigured use case (AirPlay, AudioPlayer, Multiroom). The USB bus of the RPi is indeed not perfect, but you are correct that usually a USB-DAC does offer better sound. However, dedicated I2S sound cards are still much better in the translation of the signal. I hope this answers all your questions, Max2Play's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=66120 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=101856 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] What is Max2Play??
Hi d6jg, While I am not entirely familiarized with the picoreplayer software as I am with Max2Play, I would still like to point to our open addon-structure, wherein everyone can add or even create any new software for Max2Play and implement it into the existing framework. Therein, a lot of new features and services can be added, combined and removed, giving you a much larger field of applications for the software. Aside from that general difference, we also consistently add new addons and update our existing ones to add more features from the first start. You can look at a few of our updates in the 'Max2Play topic' (http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?101856-Max2Play-Webinterface-for-Mediaclients-(Audioplayer-Squeezeserver-Airplay-XBMC)&p=864563&viewfull=1#post864563) where I introduced some, but you can find a list of 'all addons on our website' (https://www.max2play.com/en/addons/). Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Max2Play Webinterface for Mediaclients (Audioplayer, Squeezeserver, Airplay, XBMC)
Hi everybody, I'm Heiner from Max2Play. You are probably already acquainted with flysurfer who is working hard on improving and expanding our OS. I will be here to occasionally tell you about new updates and features we add to our images and hopefully chime in on topics that Max2Play might be relevant to. Regarding technical support, we have specific forums on our website wherein you will find the fastest and most direct help you can get on any issues with our system. Since we last posted here, a lot of new and exciting features and plugins were added to Max2Play. I will take the time and tell you about some of them here: NEW DESIGN We have updated all our images to a new, more clear and elegant web interface design, while keeping all the familiar elements and options our users have grown accustomed to. However, we also added some useful new elements like a small dropdown menu on the top-right corner to navigate all your Max2Play devices if you are running a multiroom system. We also expanded our help-section on every plugin so that you are always just one click away from our documentation on every feature. WPS We also added WPS as a possible connection method to every new image. This is especially helpful with the new Raspberry Pi 3 which has a built-in WiFi module and thus allows for an immediate connection to the local network after the first boot. BLUETOOTH SPEAKER SUPPORT Our new bluetooth plugin lets you pair your Raspberry with a bluetooth speaker of your choice which you can then use as the output for an additional player in your system. Once paired, the speaker will automatically reconnect to the Pi. GOOGLE MUSIC PLUGIN We added Google Music functionality to our Squeezebox Server installer. The open-source plugin comes preinstalled, you need to enter your credentials and a Mobile ID for validation from Google. FRENCH TRANSLATION Huge thanks to our user pepsi95 who almost single-handedly translated our web interface in the French language once we published a translation server that applies the changes to our demo image in real time and adds them in every new update. You can find the server on our website if you want to contribute in your preferred language. VOICE CONTROL This our most recent new plugin and it adds a great new feature to the Max2Play OS. Using HTTP-Requests, you can use the plugin to configure voice control capabilities for most of Max2Play's central applications. We have solutions for both Android and iOS devices to use for voice control and the plugin directly generates some useful HTTP-Commands based on your device's setup. Those are just a few of the great improvements we have been working on. There is much more to explore and, of course, much more to come in the future. However, we never lost our focus on integrating the great Squeezebox technology into our OS to realize the best possible conditions for a versatile multiroom audio system. Building on the Squeezebox Server, we continuously added new features for this system, from Multisqueeze for creating as many players on one device as you like, to Jivelite with its specific skins for touchscreen use and clear, beautiful interface. All these different components come together in our images to get the best out of the Squeezebox foundation. If you have any general questions, ideas or suggestions, we would love to hear them.
