Doesn’t it just work? even though sync’ed players as a group do not show
up as a target. Doesn’t sending to one cause all to play since there are
sync’ed?

Okay re-read the threads. Removing the dev version, and then install the

I would be happy to test the dev version at any time, let me know.

The screenshot from the iphone is showing that airplay from physical

But maybe something I am doing?

However, I do not see my iPhone as one of the available players.

I have the license for ipeng local playback and when I am in the house

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Looking for a way export to text file songs, artists, maybe database plugin?

2016-03-31 Thread bengaldave

@Mnyb, thanks, I tried to scroll through the song list to see
differences by eyeball.

If I could export the list as a text file I could use a program like
"Beyond Compare" and the missing songs/lines would be highlighted.

You mention CUE files, hmm, that is the next thing I will check. Is each
CUE file considered a song?

To provide more info.

All the music is located in a folder on a Synology NAS.

The Windows 8 PC running logitech squeezebox mounts the synology NAS
folder
\\NAS\MusicFolder

Logitech squeezebox is also running on the synology machine pointing to
the same folder.

I ran both instances of logitech squeezebox and compare the scan
statistics. I am looking for the statistics to match. If they do not
match I would like to understand why.

2016-03-30 Thread bengaldave

DJanGo wrote:
> What OS?

Thanks I want to be able to do this on a windows PC and on a Synology
Box and compare the artist count and the song count.

I am using the same settings as best as I am able and having them point
to the same file system.

The count is only off by 8 songs out of 3200 total songs.

The synology box is great for serving files but is a little slow for
general purpose computing.

So I would like to run most of the software on the windows box.

But if the windows box is missing songs because of file system
problems...

The fact that the scan on the windows box picked up almost all of the
songs is a recent fix. It used to skip a bunch of songs due to
path/filesystem size or other special character.

Then if I browsed to the missed songs in "Music Folder" that would crash
the slimserver process on windows.

Now it appears fixed and no crashing.

I originally ripped the disks on a mac so the file paths were long as
the mac can handle long file names and paths.

I used the default ripping settings of the program called XLD for the
Mac. This would produce long folder path names by default.

[SlimDevices: Plugins] Touch: Stability of Plugins: Using Screen Switcher, Daylight Clock and Custom Clock,

2013-04-14 Thread bengaldave

Hello,

I am installed Screen Switcher, Daylight Clock, and set Custom Clock
with SDT Fahrenheit clock, and let that run over night.

When I looked at it in the morning the squeezebox touch had a message
that it had restarted itself and the screen savers were not running.

Should this work?

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Custom Clock applet for Touch/Radio/Controller

2013-04-14 Thread bengaldave

Squeezebox Touch

Right after installing Custom Clock Applet,
Going into
Extras->Custom Clock
No Extras Configured

So then go into
Settings->Screen->Screen Savers->Custom Clock Settings
Then choose styles for each config

When I go into Config #1, for example, it fetches styles.

I think I am missing super date time styles. I only see 2
SDT Weather Celsius
SDT Weather Fahrenheit

Should there be some styles for sports and others?

Thanks, I will take a look, and yes, there are programs that do some of
what is needed but not all.

What software do you use to sync the folders on the NAS to the PC?

I have been thinking about doing something like this?

2013-03-11 Thread bengaldave

Hello,

I have three squeezeboxes in sync, two radios and 1 touch.

1) should there be any behavior differences between turning them off
using the ir remote and turning them off in ipeng?

2) in ipeng on iPhone, if I click on one of the radios, both radios goes
on or off, but not the touch. If I click on the touch, all three goes on
or off.

Is this expected behavior?

What is supposed to happen?

How is on/off sent, using regular tcp packets? Udp packets? Broadcast?
Point to point?

Okay, so I did a complete restore on the old iPod.

Installing ipeng over the air now works.

I lost squeezecast, not backed up and cannot install anymore on old
ipod, but ipeng is much better.

But now, how do I restore native playback.

Native playback is enabled on my ipad and iPhone.

When I try to enable on iPod, it asks for password and then nothing, no
error, no success either.

Okay, so I got it installed by syncing with mac. It refused to install
over the air.

Now how do I restore the in-app purchase for play back?

When I click on restore, it asks me for apple id but it does not
restore

I have playback enabled successfully on ipad and iPhone.

Oh I should have read this first.

I deleted the iPeng app file on the mac, in order to force the mac to
redownload the app from itunes.

The ipod never had ipeng on it, so it is not an update.

I am trying to force an install from the mac, because I cannot install
ipeng on the ipod, it is failing. I have never had an app fail more than
once.

Sometimes due to intermittant network an initial local app install on an
iphone or ipod would fail, but it almost always works on the second try,
but I have tried a bunch of times on a good wifi network and the app
refuses to install on the ipod.

When I get home tonight I will try and install locally on the ipod
first.

The other thing I noticed is that on the iphone, it did do the update
locally over the network, but itunes on the mac for some reason was not
noticing that the iphone ipeng was newer than what was on the mac and
not updating the version on the mac.

I deleted the app on the mac which forced mac itunes to re-download and
now the mac itunes is showing the correct version.

Oh, okay, my store is showing 2.0.9

My iphone is showing 2.0.10.

Normally, when an app gets updated on my iphone and I then sync with my
mac, it shows the each app sync'ing with the mac.

Last night no matter how many times I clicked sync and backup, iPeng was
not transferring over, no error, just not transferring

On the iPod it states that it "failed to download, check again later,
app should download at the store" or something like that.

So to recap, I have 2.0.10 on my iphone, on my ipod, ipeng does not
install.

Hello,

Let me just say that I love iPeng, much better than the logitech remote
software, I have purchased iPeng, for iPad and Iphone, and the local
player option.

Question: Does iPeng duplicate all the functionality of the IR remote?

I have had two radios for a couple of months.

I just added to that a squeezebox touch, and it came with a remote.

By hitting the now playing button on the infared remote, I am able to
scroll through some screens, the frequency showing screen, the vu meter,
the album showing screen etc.

Can I do this with iPeng?

Thanks for the quick response.

Any idea of the bandwidth requirements of full lossless music?

I have successfully streamed video from my house, when I outside
somewhere over 3g, using plex or xbmc.

Doesn't audio use far less bandwidth than audio?

I have not yet done side by side tests, video against audio without bit
rate limiting, so maybe any time I have trouble with streaming audio
without but rate limiting over 3G, video does not work.

Just asking hypothetical.

Hello,

I see that when locally playing through iPeng there is an option to
bitrate limit, for example, over 3G.

For this to work does bitrate limiting have to be set on the server
under the player option?

Does iPeng somehow tell the server to bitrate limit when needed?

Also, I only see the bitrate limit option for the iPeng player, not for
other players.

Is it just a feature you have not gotten to yet? Or is there some
limitation? Not sure if I need this feature or not.

Hello,

>From reading it appears that the squeezebox server has three ports it

Does iPeng need all three to operate correctly?

Next question is there any way to determine them dynamically? Or are
they hardcoded?

So if they are different than the defaults, if iPeng can talk over 1
port, does it find out the other ports from the squeezebox server?

If this is true, and works when everything is in a lan, what happens if
the ports are mapped differently by a router for outside of the
network?

For example, if I have two different squeezebox servers on two different
computers, and have the ports mapped to 6 different ports by the router
for use outside of the network. Is there a way to make this work?

Thanks, yes, that is probably it. That entry is blank, I am new to
squeezebox so did not know about this option.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] iPeng support thread

Hello,

On an iphone, using iPeng, there is a folder icon to save playlists.

I click on save, enter a name.

Where does it go?

In the main list, there is a folder called playlist, but it is always
empty.

Are playlists only in iPeng? On my the webpage for my local squeezebox
server I do not see a folder called playlists.
