I use it daily and I'm listening to Cesky Rozhlas Jazz as I type. The range of stations is certainly large and probably more than most people have the time to sample. The great thing is that the range of genres is expanding nicely and there is something for most and an incredible range of French stations. On the question of NPR, having lived near Washington DC many years ago I believe that WAMU (American University) was the national base station, and all the other stations picked up their national relay programs from them - but I could be wrong, it is about forty years ago. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Radio Now Playing plugin
Paul, I've managed to install latest beta but it initially slowed down my LMS to a crawl. Opening the Radio Now Playing App took 15 seconds to display the stations, and most times didn't work at all. Similar problem getting to Settings/Plugins. Discovered that the delay is greatly reduced when trimming the list of stations to the ones I'm interested in. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Radio Now Playing plugin
I can't get the plugin to load from the 3rd Party Plugins repo for the last 24 hours. I have two running LMS servers on Picoreplayer and both repeatedly return "Plugin Failed To Load" when trying to load the plugin. I'm also not getting New Plugin notifications for this plugin although a Plugin blank box appears at the top of the Plugins page, it doesn't work. I've moved on to the 3rd Party version but I'm afraid I've lost the test repo so can't revert. *Music Store and VPN Server: *Synology DS215J NAS *Study Server:* LMS 8.2.0 on Pi 4B pCp 8.0.0/IQ Audio DAC+ *Refurbished 1962 RCA Stereo Console Server/Player *LMS 8.2.0 on Pi 4B pCp 8.0.0/IQ Audio DAC+ *LAN Players: x2:* pCp 8.0.0 on Pi 3B / IQ Audio DAC+ *LAN Player/ADC* pCp 8.0.0 on Pi 3B / IQ audio Codec + *PC Players: x2: *Squeezelite on Windows 10 PC. *VPN Mobile & Car Player:* Material/SqueezePlayer on Android Phone ian_heys's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=2629 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=115201 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Complete ball by ball commentary is provided for every county game. I don't think it's a feature of BBC Sounds. I realise that I am one of very few who use this feature which also covers other sports and news events but has no metadata indicating which events are on which of the 20 event channels and it's trial and error trying to find an event. I have to thank bpa for his inclusion of this feature a few years back. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Material Skin
Could I ask a small favour? Could the browser tab title format be changed to Title - Artist::Logitech Media Server instead of Title · Artist:Logitech Media Server. (note the proposed hyphen between Title and Artist). I'm setting up a small personal radio station and picking up the metadata from the player browser tab. I think the · (dot) character is causing my Icecast client software to display errors between the Artist and Title. I'm very new to this and don't know if it's the software or the character and don't mean to cast any aspersions on Material Skin which I think is brilliant. Thankyou Paul for this great plugin and thankyou bpa for PlayHLS I found this post very useful. I've been lurking around this plugin and PlayHLS for some time and not having a problem getting them to work. What I have had is the problem of trying to find the HLS URL's for some of my favourite Radio France music streams in HLS 252 kbps aac format. I found by substituting for "fippop" in the above the following work for me. FIP Main - "fip" FIP Jazz - "fipjazz" FIP Reggae - "fipreggae" France Musique - "francemusique" I suppose this is intuitive for some of the users of this plugin but from my point of view it would greatly benefit from an opml playlist either in the first post of this thread or even better incorporated into the plugin. *Music Store & VPN Server: *Synology DS215J NAS* Home Server/Study Player:* LMS 8.0.0 on Pi 4 pCp 6.1.0 Server/IQ Audio DAC+ *Refurbished 1962 RCA Stereo Console Server/Player *LMS 8.0.0 on Pi 4B pCp 6.1.0 Server/IQ Audio DAC+ *Headphone Players: x2:* pCp 6.0.0 on Pi 3B /IQ Audio DAC+ *Streamer/Player* pCp 6.1.0 on Pi 3B/IQ Audio Codec+ *Homeplug/LAN Players: x2: *Squeezelite on Windows 10 PC. *VPN Mobile & Car Player:* Material/SqueezePlayer on Android Phone ian_heys's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=2629 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=106900 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] BBC iPlayer "Listen Live" Not Working?
I noticed this article yesterday: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-45499784 There is a slightly worrying use of the term compression towards the end of the article. The same effect is apparent on BBC iPlayer Radio Live Streams when the time signal pips are heard about 35 - 40 seconds after the same on Live FM Radio. (Here in the UK). Let's hope they don't try to cure this with "compression" too. *Music Store & VPN Server: *Synology DS215J NAS* Home Server/Player:* LMS 7.9.2 on Pi 3B piCorePlayer v4.0 Server/IQAudio Digi+ *Homeplug & LAN Players: *Squeezelite on Windows 10 PC *UPNP Wifi Players:* Samsung Soundbar, Chromecast Audio/Video, Revo Super-Connect Radio, GGMM-E5 portable *VPN Mobile & Car Player:* SqueezeControl/SqueezePlayer on Android Phone ian_heys's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=2629 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=109434 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: UPnPBridge = integrate UPnP/DLNA players with LMS (squeeze2upnp)
I've followed the chromecast and upnp bridge threads since the early testing days. I now have eight devices in my home which are identified by these two plugins, five of which I actively use in my listening. Since my SB3 days in 2005 my home network has evolved to being NAS Music Store/PiCore Server and Player and now no SlimDevices/Logitech Hardware. Without these plugins my listening environment would be much more utilitarian and much less versatile. 25357 I've carried out a cursory test of these two new plugins on the five devices I use on a day to day basis with great results. My listening is confined to listening to my exclusively FLAC 16/41 VBR library for music and bpa's brilliant BBC iPlayer plugin for live BBC 320k DASH Radio, with very occasional forays into BBC Listen Again. My listening isn't that sophisticated and I haven't tested gapless but here's a summary of my cursory testing with these caveats: 25358 The only issue I encountered was streaming BBC Radio DASH to the Revo SuperConnect. I will try to see if this is a settings issue, but as the Revo now natively plays these DASH streams it isn't an issue for me. +---+ |Filename: Results.JPG | |Download: http://forums.slimdevices.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=25358| +---+ *Music Store & VPN Server: *Synology DS215J NAS* Home Server/Player:* LMS 7.9.2 on Pi 3B piCorePlayer v3.50 Server/IQAudio Digi+ *Homeplug LAN Players: *Squeezelite on Windows 10 PC *UPNP Wifi Players:* Samsung Soundbar, Chromecast Audio/Video, Revo Super-Connect Radio, GGMM-E5 portable *VPN Mobile & Car Player:* SqueezeControl/SqueezePlayer on Android Phone ian_heys's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=2629 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=103728 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: UPnPBridge = integrate UPnP/DLNA players with LMS (squeeze2upnp)
Update after upgrade to latest version. GGMM E5 works every time. GGMM M3 doesn't work at all - just like it didn't in previous version. (I have not been happy with this device. As well as impossible UPNP it is far too bassy). Revo SuperConnect - works on FLAC music but not on DASH/AAC streams but these streams play natively from player menu. This is exactly where I was with previous version and I'm pretty sure the M3 is just a bad UPNP/DLNA implementation from the maker. So I'm happy with this. Hi Philippe, I've tried the new version on three devices with FLAC music files and bpa's BBCiPlayer latest experimental version with live programme streams: GGMM E5 and M3 - no problems. On the previous version I could not get the GGMM M3 to work as UPNP device under any circumstances but the E5 worked fine. Revo SuperConnect Radio - plays FLAC files fine but could not play BBCiPlayer Live DASH/AAC streams at 320kbpS streams. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: CastBridge = integrate Chromecast players with LMS (squeeze2cast)
Hi Philippe I've tried the new version on both a Chromecast Audio and a Chromecast Video. I have a very simple system in that I only have FLAC files mainly at 44.1khz/16bit and I use bpa's latest experimental BBC iPlayer for live Radio at 320 kBps DASH/AAC. Both Chromecasts work fine on FLAC files but do not play DASH/AAC live BBC streams. I've tried a few variations to the plugin settings but there are fewer variations in the new plugins (a good thing) but I cannot find a setting that will play these streams. I've attached a log file taken earlier today, perhaps you could make something of it. You should be able to install bpa's plugin, even in Canada, and it will play DASH/AAC streams at a low bit rate to see if it works for you. +---+ |Filename: log.txt | |Download: http://forums.slimdevices.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=24681| +---+ *Music Store: *Synology DS215J NAS* Home Server/Player:* LMS 7.9.1 on Pi 3B piCorePlayer v3.22 Server/IQAudio DAC+/Amp+ *Portable Server/Player:* LMS 7.9.1 on HP-DV2700 Laptop/Ubuntu 17.10 with synced music drive. *Homeplug LAN Players: *Pi 3B piCorePlayer v3.22/HDMI/Jivelite, Squeezelite on Windows 10 PC *UPNP Wifi Players:* Chromecast Audio/Video, Revo Super-Connect Radio, GGMM-E5 portable *VPN Player:* SqueezePlayer on Android Phone ian_heys's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=2629 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=104614 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

You can (and > should) leave volume settings untouched Thanks Philippe, that worked instantaneously with the E5, but didn't work with the M3 which is altogether more flaky on the wifi side and has other less impressive traits. Interestingly it has a Windows app which can make the M3 look like a Windows sound card when selected as a Windows sound device (you can even enumerate it with squeezelite) and I've heard output from it in wifi mode using this app but it usually fails and starts buffering for long periods after running for only a few seconds. I'm considering getting a Raspberry Pi to feed it as I have a spare case/power supply and SD Card. The M3 really isn't fit for purpose and I should send it back but I'm an inveterate experimenter and I'll probably keep trying variations. I bought it new, at a very favourable price, to use as a TV speaker and even as that it has some flaws (too much bass and inconsistent manual volume control). I use mine in UPNP Bridge mode and it is very good but I wonder if you have an airplay profile that you could share as I am having a great deal of trouble setting up a GGMM M3 in either UPNP or Airplay mode and if I could try your E5 profile (first on my E5 then on my M3) maybe I could modify the profile to get my E3 working. The sound quality is very good but the big plus point for me is the portability. It doesn't break up when walking round my home or garden. It looks well made and stylish and although I haven't taken it apart it seems to have a lot inside the case judging by the weight. What it doesn't have is a display but I find an Android phone works very well as a control point with gui. The only changes to the standard UPNP set up I can remember doing was turning off all the metadata settings and ignoring all volume changes so that the volume could be controlled on the device. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: UPnPBridge = integrate UPnP/DLNA players with LMS (squeeze2upnp)
I've thought a lot about how to listen, without earphones, to my LMS in the garden (US yard). Thoughts of using a quality speaker box together with a chromecast audio or raspberry pi have usually foundered on the need for a portable power supply that supports Amplifier Voltage (usually around 12V) and the 5V required for the chromecast or Pi. I've now found the GGMM-E5, which together with Phillipe's UPNP plugin works perfectly on my FLAC (44.1/16) music collection and bpa's BBCiPlayer (latest experimental FLAC streams on BBC Radio 3). It's sounds pretty reasonable to my septuagenarian ears and works perfectly from a web gui or as an LMS android app on my phone. It can also run on Bluetooth (Wash my mouth out) and aux in and even acts as a chargepak for charging your mobile. It doesn't have a display though. GGMM have other models with similar functionality. LMS continues to evolve. Thanks to Phillipe, bpa Michael and others for the continuing support. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Local Player plugin and Squeezelite for Linux/Windows/OSX
Hi Ralphy I've just installed LMS (Repack) on my Synology DiskStation 215j I believe it uses the ARMV7 architecture. I also moved my music files onto the Diskstation. I only use the following plugins. 22749 I can start and use the Chromecast and UPNP Bridges using the "armv5te-static" binaries but this binary is not offered by Local Player only "armv5te" and two armv6 binaries none of which work. I need the Local Player to attach my external Arcam rPac DAC which is recognised by the Diskstation. Do you have the means or inclination to produce additional binaries, either for the Local Player alone or for both Local Player and Phillipe's plugins? It isn't a showstopper for me as I still have the PiCore solution I was hoping to replace with this single box and I really appreciate the work that you and, in my case Phillipe and bpa, do to keep LMS running with so many useful features. +---+ |Filename: plugins.JPG | |Download: http://forums.slimdevices.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=22749| +---+ LMS: 7.9.0 - 1488878280 @ Tue Mar 7 09:28:02 UTC 2017 on Raspberry Pi 3B piCorePlayer v3.20 Server/ARCAM rPAC DAC, 2.5 inch HD (pi powered) *Homeplug LAN Players:* Squeezelite on Windows 10 PC Raspberry Pi 3B piCorePlayer v3.20/Topping VX2 DAC/Amp *Wifi Players:* UPnP Wifi Players: 2 x Chromecast Audio, 2 x Chromecast Video ian_heys's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=2629 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=97766 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
