Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: BBCiPlayer 0.9 - with UK and Non UK Support
Thanks Triode. The iplayer plugin Ver 0.9 installed and runs without a problem on Squeezecenter 7.3.4 - 28319 Vista 32 bit SP1. Loading of e.g. Live Radio 3 is very fast, and it is nice to see the pretty icons on Squeezeplay. Listening to Saturday evening playback (Radio 3 1600: Jazz Library - Billy Taylor and 1700 Jazz Record Requests) was a great pleasure. I'd very much recommend people to listen to the Billy Taylor programme while it is still on the system. I'm in Ireland and do not see the quality of stream listed, so I assume it is 48k as you mentioned. Still very pleasant to listen to. If you want an app to be able to choose output destinations, you are going to have to invest a few euros. On android, Orange Squeeze together with Squeezeplayer work extremely well using LMS as server. I don't use playlists other than to play them - e.g. the numerous playlists offered on Qobuz. The fact that a multitude of User playlists are available to see and use to subscribers on Qobuz shows that an individual user can create their own personal playlists. I would expect this facility to be limited to subscribers: otherwise the Qobuz servers would get overloaded with a plethora of playlists generated by one-time/trial visitors to the site who will probably leave after their trial period leaving their files behind them. I find their scope and depth of music available (e.g. ECM) and the resolution (flac etc) on offer to stream is excellent and well worth the subscription cost. I use LMS as my music server and have been happily doing so for over 10 years now and haven't found anything better, despite keeping a good eye out. Having a forum like this to get information is invaluable and I have not seen other platforms to have anything comparable. Squeezebox Classic:2; Duet: 1; Boom:1; Touch:1. As long as one listens to it, and has the network speed capable of avoiding buffering etc, there is surely no contest. One CD at $20.00 per month. 12 CDs per year. Triode, many thanks for Squeezelite. It works beautifully, and is very tidy. I have a similar problem to Castalla on post #33, but on Windows 8 Pro 64 bit, I need to specify the option -r to get Squeezelite to run. I don't appear to have any other application grabbing the Audio output, and as far as I can tell no other instance of Squeezelite is running. I've used the option -r 119200. What is the significance of this, as against using say -r 44100? On a laptop with Win XP Pro 32 bit Squeezlite runs with no option specified. I would approach things this way, if your router allows it (i.e. if it still allows ethernet traffic though needing a reset): prior to resetting your router, SSH into each Pi and do an orderly shutdown -h now. Allow the Raspberries to shut down, power them down and then reset your router. When the router has reset, power up the Raspberries one by one starting with the one with LMS installed and they should sort themselves out. kesey's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=10786 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=98631 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

That, as the bishop said to the actress, is more like it:-) Very fast scan from the Squeezecenter 7.3.2 database. I installed Muso on this laptop on which I had Softsqueeze available. I had Squeezebox 3 running off another computer, so I had to tell Squeezecenter on this laptop to use Squeezebox 3 as a player. -- kesey kesey's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=10786 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=57629 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/plugins

Squeezecenter has been working fine - not bothered at all. When I tried to get Muso to read my music directory it only found .mp3 files also - 80 or so of them. The other 8000 .flac files did ot show up. As Muso said its preferred PC player is Winamp I installed that to see if it would work. Lo and behold.. it could not find the .flac files either. I uninstalled Songbird, Winamp and Muso (via Control panel, Add progs etc) shut down and restarted. I then reinstalled Winamp, made sure it had the codec for 'flac checked, and when it did its scan it found all the .flac files and will play away happily. Next I installed Muso and it too then found the .flac files. May be coincidence, or maybe Songbird leaves a little guano all over the shop like its avian relations. If you have installed anything interesting lately that is not behaving as you would like, might be worth removing as above and see if things work out. regards, kesey P.S. I still have not got Muso to see Winamp as a Player. Maybe the new version 1.05 will sort that. -- kesey kesey's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=10786 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=57629 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/plugins

If you click on Now Playing - on the Left Hand Menu of Muso, Muso will search to if the Lyrics of the song are online, and display them if found. Nice to be able to read them fullscreen. -- kesey kesey's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=10786 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=57629 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/plugins

It is really nice, and easy to use. http://klarita.net/muso.html You could set up separate tags, or possibly just make sure your genres are tagged correctly. -- kesey kesey's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=10786 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=59328 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/plugins

Murph;394592 Wrote: > It appears to be a PC control solution only but I'm not sure. Murph, I think that given your requirement to work from the Squeezebox, the best thing is to do a tag cleanup yourself. I would suggest downloading mp3tag from http://www.mp3tag.de/en/ It is very easy to use, and you can specify easily the various genres of music you wish to categorise, to any depth you wish to go. The more detail you give it e.g. Symphony, Opera, wind, percussion, strings, choral or whatever the more you will be able to drill down with the Squeezebox. Once you have done your tagging you will need to do a rescan on Squeezecenter so that it knows that you have updated the files. A "Look for new and changed music" will do the job for a small no. of changes, and will allow you to check things as you go along. After a large tagging session though I would do a "Clear library and rescan everything". -- kesey kesey's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=10786 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=59328 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Best for viewing classical music seperately
No problem at all. I did not see the depth or direction you wanted to go... What I was getting at with the tagging suggestion was a derivative of Linnaean classification. Using mp3tag you could add extra (self-generated) tags in (e.g. Conductor, Orchestra, Soloist, Location of Recording etc.) which you might or might not choose to use later. These additions would add to the information already stored in your tags and hopefully allow wider search mechanisms by some means possibly yet to be unearthed:-) Good luck with the endeavours: the more detail we get, and the more avenues we explore the better. -- kesey kesey's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=10786 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=59328 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/plugins
