I have a similar problem on another machine where if i open the library it says moose.moo does not exist would you like to create on, to which i click yes, then the scan bar pops up and immediately vanishes. I've removed moose and deleted the reg key, and started from scratch but it still does it. -- russj1975 russj1975's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=12290 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=35468 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/plugins

When I tried it said it was out of date moo file... Yes, you should be able to copy moo files around. I've started sharing a central one at home now and have a few moose's using it, although there are issues when it gets updated. When Slimserver rescans or adds stuff to its database, all its IDs can change, so Moose has to do a total rescan to be safe. Moose checks when slimserver last changed the database and suggests you rescan if it was later than its own last rescan. You should only get this warning if Slimserver's done something with its database though. I keep meaning to improve the thumbnail re-caching a bit.. Yes .55 worked. I am on a clean vista install. I shut both computers off last night. Booted them up this morning and tried to scan again. I got the moose (not responding) for about ten seconds but no other error message and then all of a sudden it started to scan. (and did so successfully) I made NO setting changes. So it is fixed. We just don't know WHY :) Musta been my expert computer skills :) Bruce -- brucegrr brucegrr's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=3964 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=35468 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/plugins
[SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Moose 0.56
Ok, just uploaded Moose 0.56 to both the group and the site.. Briefly, the new stuff: * New look and feel - custom title-bar, menus, transparent buttons, etc.. * New touchscreen, party and fullscreen modes (still in development but usable) * Mono support - semi-usable under Mono 1.2.4 - seriously ugly though * Amazon similar albums implemented in library dropdown button menu * Amazon coverart lookup now implemented * New popup menu on covertart image * 'Remove Album' and 'Remove Artist' added to playlist menus * Multi-screen positioning fixes (let me know if ive broken this again) * Bugfixes and other stuff which my mind's misplaced.. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Moose 0.56
Good work - looks great. I have a few small issues with the cover chooser though: 1. I have artwork bouncing around the screen. However, quite a few albums appear to be dancing off the top of the screen; I can just see the very bottom of the artwork in the top-right hand corner of the window. 2. I have albums with missing artwork (displayed as grey circles). In previous releases there was an option to not display albums with missing artwork, but I can't find it now. Nb. This would be nice as an option in the Moose preferences, as I always only want to show albums with artwork in the cover chooser. 3. If I Repopulate, I get several covers in huge size. If I mouse-over these huge covers, they return to a normal size, or I can select Tools-Resize to fix them all. Also once I got really small ones (one or two pixels wide/high), when I was messing about with Layout and Moving options. 4. I can click-and-drag to move covers anymore - that was useful if you wanted to get access to some covers underneath the most visible ones. 5. Is there a way to get a random set of cover albums moving around the screen? I think the Sorting method Default means that I only get the first 100 albums in my collection (maybe add a sorting method Random?). 6. If I use the Alpha bar to select J and change to Artists, it takes the artist name, not artistsort, so I see Johannes Schmoelling, but not Norah Jones. Sorry - just found the option within Search-Colours-Only albums with known cover art. ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/plugins

Ahh, possibly some issues with the non-layout cover chooser mode.. The cover chooser's very much in development still.. I'll check the bounds problems - sounds like an issue.. 3. Also once I got really small ones (one or two pixels wide/high), when I was messing about with Layout and Moving options. Yup.. I think the non-layout code gets a bit confused by all the stuff I added to make the layout mode paged.. I'll sort the sizing out.. 5. Is there a way to get a random set of cover albums moving around the screen? I think the Sorting method Default means that I only get the first 100 albums in my collection (maybe add a sorting method Random?). Yeah, sorting's coming next hopefully.. Good idea with the random too.. I've been meaning to add random tabs to the library list chooser for a while.. 6. If I use the Alpha bar to select J and change to Artists, it takes the artist name, not artistsort, so I see Johannes Schmoelling, but not Norah Jones. Yup, good point.. Currently I dont read or use artistsort at all, so I'll add that to the scanning code.. -- - Dr Lovegrove http://www.rusticrhino.com/drlovegrove http://groups.google.com/group/moosenews ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Moose 0.56
I am having problem scanning mysql. I have been using Moose for quite awhileno problems. I edited the my.tt file. Re-read the setup page. Mysql resides on a XP computer. I am using Moose from a Vista laptop (with uac turned off, firewall turned off) Moose plays the music files fine, it is just the mysql I am having problem with. I did scan using the folder method and that works fine but I prefer to use mysql. My settings in moose are: slimserver port 9092 usr root (I also tried slimserver) no password First I get a moose (not responding) and then problem connecting to mysql server. unable to connect to any of the specified mysql hosts Suggestions?
