Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Radio Paradise Lossless Streaming (Plugin v2)
http://icy-8.radioparadise.com/mellow-flac That's a "regular" stream. You listen to what is being streamed by the server right now. radioparadise://4-1.flac That's the "interactive" stream. It's track based, unlike the "regular" which is one stream for all day or week or whatever. These are two distinct options in the plugin's menu. And they haven't changed with the recent release. -- Michael ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

I also noticed this on the web control. > > quoting myself. I just noticed something. The "muted start" I described above with v2.5 of the plugin was using the RP app in my apps. On inspection it used this URL (for mellow for example): http://icy-8.radioparadise.com/mellow-flac and the first song do NOT start in beginning (when the stream is first started) When I had been playing the mellow mix previously, with the previous version of the plugin I was NOT going through My Apps, I had saved it to favorites, here's the URL: radioparadise://4-1.flac The first song DOES start from the beginning. Yet, when I go to the RP site, here is their flac link: http://stream.radioparadise.com/mellow-flac First song starts from the beginning. When I had said that main and mellow had been rock solid for weeks, it was with the previous version of the plugin, but more importantly, it was with the url in my favorites - radioparadise://4-1.flac. I am also unclear why all of the url's, what is legacy, what I shouldn't be using, etc. I am not sure this is relevant, but I thought I would mention it. I'll stream both urls over the next couple days to compare performance Jim Redrum's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=33806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=108189 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

My experience - RP Main and Mellow mix were pretty solid with the previous version of the plug in (was it 2.4.2 or something?). I updated to 2.5 and tried Rock and Main Mix today. Flac versions of both would play, then stop (rebuffer, rebuffer failed) and sometimes go back a few songs and replay from there. For example, the pixies, a few more songs, then REM, rebuffer failed. Start it back up, back to the pixies. Interesting that when it got back to the REM song that failed, it rebuffered, but continued. I also noticed something I have never seen before. When starting the flac stream it would start, you could see the timer run, but no audio...then after a few seconds, audio would start, but not at the song start. The flac streams had always started at the beginning of the song previously. It's like the audio is muted for the first couple seconds at stream start. I also noticed this on the web control. I switched to the 320kbps stream and it played uninterrupted for hours. Back to the flac, problems. Just my observations in case it helps. I'm running a touch on a rpi server via wifi for this test. I have been listening primarily to the eclectic stream after it returned, (thank you Michael,) and I have noticed that sometimes it stops, and I have to restart it manually and when I do, I find that it has gone back quite a few songs, and essentially "started over." Usually when this happens however, it makes it through the spot where it had gotten stuck before. I have been assuming it is a problem with Radio Paradise, and not with LMS. Maybe this is a problem with Bill's "load balancing" between his RP servers? My gosh, please don't believe I have any idea what I am talking about ... I have no idea. I can't use the interactive stream anymore either. It was nice to be able to skip a song that I didn't like, but now it just stops and starts every couple of seconds. The regular stream is OK thankfully. I -was- using the final 7.9.1 version but recently updated my plugins for the first time in ages. Then I put 7.9.2 on to see if that helped but it didn't. Hi, I too am experiencing the 'stuttering' to the point of it being unusable. Only started the last 3 or so weeks, prior to that it worked mostly flawlessly. Initially I ignored it but its now irritating me.. Audio plays for ~2 secs then stops for another 2, starts for 2 etc. Dont think that I have let it run for more than 10-15 secs. But how does this relate to the problem streaming FLAC? nitram's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=63775 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=108189 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Updated to 7.9.2 - 1560587554 @ Sat Jun 15 10:44:33 Updated to Material Skin 8.1 Things seem to be snappier on my Early 2009 Mac Mini server. Next song button is crisp, used to lag/hang. Not sure if it was RP or Material skin but working really fast now. This past week: -I only had a few songs hang (and after 5-10 seconds, start where they stopped). -Did occasionally have 1 song play into another, overlapped, that happened 3-4 times. Clicking Next Song button cleared it up. -Background cover images occasionally took a while to update, would display previous album or question mark for a number of seconds. Today's updates seem to have fixed everything. Thanks for doing all the stuffs Michael and crew. I listen to RP 6 hours a day during week so am really happy to have this stuff be so well maintained. dmcdayton's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=10482 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=108189 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Radio Paradise Lossless Streaming (Plugin v2)
By itself, the Squeezebox Classic will not play either of the available FLAC options: FLAC Interactive, FLAC Regular Stream, but it will play MP3 192kbps. With FLAC, the appropriate messages display ("Radio Paradise," "FLAC Interactive" ...) and the ‘time play’ counts up, but no music actually plays. If the Classic can't play it, then obviously the sync group wouldn't play either. What does your server.log say when you try to play flac on it? Synchronized, the options are FLAC Interactive, FLAC Regular Stream, and MPS3 192kpbs. (I don’t know why AAC is unavailable.) The Classic can't play AAC natively, therefore it only allows MP3 and FLAC. And you're saying all of this changed with the latest update? TBH I don't believe any of it should have changed. -- Michael ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Radio Paradise Lossless Streaming (Plugin v2)
Hi, I just started using RP 2.4.2, with LMS 7.9.1 on an Allo Sparky with Max2Play. I synchronize Squeezelite with a Squeezebox Classic. Until the update performance was pretty good, with some occasional dropout. But the update brought immediate problems: Without synchronization, Squeezelite will play Main Mix AAC 320kbps and 128kbps but neither FLAC Interactive nor FLAC Regular Stream. With the FLAC streams the time playing indicator counts up and song info displays in a browser, but theres no sound, and it quits at the end of a song. With the AAC streams everything seems normal. By itself, the Squeezebox Classic will not play either of the available FLAC options: FLAC Interactive, FLAC Regular Stream, but it will play MP3 192kbps. With FLAC, the appropriate messages display ("Radio Paradise," "FLAC Interactive" ...) and the time play counts up, but no music actually plays. Synchronized, the options are FLAC Interactive, FLAC Regular Stream, and MPS3 192kpbs. (I dont know why AAC is unavailable.) FLAC behavior is as above, while with MP3 the time playing counts for about 25 seconds and then gives up. No sound with any of these options. I'm hoping there may be an update soon. :) Allo Sparky, LMS 7.8.0 > Piano 2.1 + Kali, Max2Play > AudioEngine 5 Raspberry Pi > LMS 7.9.0 [Mac Mini > LMS 7.7.5: retired (okay, I broke it)] Squeezebox Classic, resting iPad mini > Squeezepad Android phone > Squeezer iPhone > iPeng Airplay Bridge > SONY-SRS-X7 speaker nitram's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=63775 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=108189 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

So far so good. I can now play the aac streams in Orange Squeeze and playing the interactive FLAC stream does not add all of the streams to the queue. Please also verify other services and content don't break with the new behaviour. Try to play whatever else you play every now and then and which triggers that "defeat touch to play" menu. Thanks! -- Michael ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

I am on Max2play. I have found XMLbrowser.pm using samba from my Windows Make sure it's the one in Control - there are three different files called XMLBrowser.pm! laptop. It would be easier for me to edit the file in Windows if possible and then copy it over via samba. First of all make a copy of the file. Just in case. You'll need a halfway decent editor - notepad won't do. Make sure your texteditor can save UNIX style line-endings (eg. notepad++ does, afaik). Then open the file in the editor, jump to line ~803 and insert above line there. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Radio Paradise Lossless Streaming (Plugin v2)
Just noticed the new Radio Paradise menus do not work from the Touch menu system. I have "disable touch to play" set to always ask. If I Try to play the Main interactive FLAC stream then 4 items are added to the queue (interactive FLAC, FLAC stream, 320k aac and 128k aac). I have kind of a fix/workaround for this. But I'm not using the "defet TTP" feature, I'm not really in a good position to test. I've run some testing, didn't find any side-effect. Yet I don't feel comfortable committing this without some further testing. Would you be able to patch your LMS (add a single line in a specific file) and run it that way for a while? -- Michael ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
