And why couldn't a spammer start sending spam to my users on 587 - if it even works that way, which I'm not sure yet if it can? Qmailtoaster is a pretty popular thing, so someone, somewhere would certainly try port 587 in order to get around spamhaus wouldn't they? Si el servidor ha perdido la conexion a internet, y tienes un cliente de intranet que si puede conectarse, entonces el servidor recibirá el correo y lo pondrá en cola hasta que pueda ser entregado. Otro detalle es que el servicio de antispam, sea Spamassassin o SpamDyke, necesitan resolver DNS para poder aceptar el correo y contactar a los servidores rbl, y si no tienes conexion a internet en el servidor, no logrará resolver los DNS y esas otras cosas, por lo tanto puede estar rechazando los correos que se tratan de enviar. There's some instructions on the wiki I believe on how to set the SPF records up. Let me know if they are not there. As far as setting up the rest of your DNS, that's a big order and a lot can be opinion. If you have 3 public IPs and a load balancer, I'd list all 3 IPs in a round-robin configuration in DNS and let the load balancer work for it's money. Others may do it different. Qmail will not care about the LAN/WAN. It doesn't really deal with IP addresses in this sense; it deals with accounts. If they have an account, they can send/receive emails. Shouldn't matter where they're coming from. I don't understand #3. Can you explain what you're trying to accomplish? Yes, I can. The idea is that all servers has, by default, the domain machine.lan_domain. Then, when I send and e-mail using mail from the server (as root, for example), it will send from root@machine.lan_domain. The problem I have is how to allow toaster machine to receive this e-mails from internet (not directly from LAN), knowing that these machines are allowed to send e-mails in their own subdomains. The question is ¿Need I any DNS considerations about these subdomains? and/or ¿Need I any toaster machine considerations too? The problem I encounter is when these machines (in the same LAN) uses another gateway to connect to internet, that is the reason for this question. Hi, In this deal, as you need to send emails from each server in your intranet server.lan_domain to other email server in the internet, you will need to have a real domain, and create a subdomain with the name of each server you have. if you need to receive reply from internet to an email box for each subdomain, you have to create each subdomain.real_domain.com in the qmail server. as you have [EMAIL PROTECTED] you can add the email header REPLY-TO: [EMAIL PROTECTED] so you can receive replyes. or you can add REPLY-TO: [EMAIL PROTECTED], so you need to create one domain only in your qmail server, and one email box for each server. another thing is if your send your emails with [EMAIL PROTECTED] when another server receives it, it will check the domain exists, the MX and SPF records, and all other things to try determine if the sender have a valid domain. So I recommend you to use [EMAIL PROTECTED] for all your sends (or [EMAIL PROTECTED]). I hope this help you. hi, I have had the same problem... In my qmail server with CentOS 5. This happens to me after a kernel update. And I solved with this steps: I have removed the vqadmin-toaster package. ( rpm -e vqadmin-toaster ) I heve deleted the file vqadmin-toassster*.rpm in the /usr/src/redhad/RPMS/i386 directory I have installed the QmailToaster-Plus in a sandbox, and it install the new vqadmi-toaster package. (run as toor: qtp-newmodel) All worked fine, and I get the list of domains to come back. I hope this work for you. [qmailtoaster] stack error in vqadmin
Hi I have reinstalled the vqadmin this morning, it works fine. But it stop working at 10am. I'll appreciate very much I think if you reinstall the qmail package it will overwrite the incorrect permissions you currently have. Ultimately if you changed the permissions for everything on the system you'll find that you'll probably want to reinstall the system. This is a production server I have installed spamdyke too... and my customers told me that they don't receive emails.. so I have to flex some restrictions In the mean... yahoo says that need the domainkey, so I decide to generate an script to install dk for each domain. I make a mistake in the script and the result it was chowning to root:vchkpw the ROOT directory and down. At that time the server begins to reject each mail that arrives. You're looking to sign your messages so that people know that it's really coming from you, correct? That will be a plugin for Outlook. You may want to look at the PGP/GPG websites. I know they had a rough plugin for Outlook that would digitally sign your messages and did not cost anything unless you wanted them to verify against something like Verisign.Maybe someone else has some more info.
