This problem is encountered when QMT is on a dynamic IP address (and some
other situations as well). I use the "SendLabs SMTP" service (formerly known
as Mailhop Outbound) from http://dyndns.com/. It's affordable, but the
number of emails you can send per day is limited. This service is extremely
reliable. Once you have purchased the service, you simply need to add this
line to your /var/qmail/control/smtproutes file:
:outbound.mailhop.org:2525  
and you're all set. Probably need to stop/start qmail after changing this
file, but I'm not certain whether this is necessary or not.

Note, there are other companies who provide this service as well. You might
want to shop around. Just to be clear, I am a DynDNS customer, but I have no
other relationship with the company. I have had nothing but good experiences
with them though (for 5 years now).

That's not anything critical. Just wait for the new QTP to come out (in

spamdyke, but I see you've already installed that. Please post your

You have plenty of ram, so increasing the number of spamd processes will 

probably help. Try changing your /var/qmail/supervise/spamd/run file as 

such:

exec /usr/bin/spamd -x -u vpopmail -s stderr \

   --max-children=20 \

   --min-children=5 \

   2>&1

Then run 'qmail-spam restart' to restart the spamd daemons.

Now that I understand a little about your situation, back to the 

original problem.

This is indicative of a server under heavy load, which could also cause 

the qq soft reject as a side effect.

You haven't given us much to go on Noel, so the best anyone can do is guess.

Do you get this message on every email, or just occasionally?

This error can be caused by a number of things. As Jake pointed out, an 
out of date clamav package can cause this. Some sort of scanning issue 
is usually the culprit with this error. What do your spam and clamd logs 
show which corresponds to this log entry?

You'll need to translate the times in your logs to make any sense of 
them. Either use the qmlog utility (with qmailtoaster-plus package), or 
translate manually with tai64nlocal utility.

When I have this error, the message is on every mail

I recently updated the clamav program and rebuild the clamav and the simscan
packages.

The clamav log is clean I have this line in the spamd log

To elaborate a little, you'll want to refer here:
http://spamdyke.org/documentation/README.html#CONFIGURATION_DIR
and use the recipient address configuration, using only the recipient 
domain.

You'll need to work out what your configuration file needs to turn off 
as much as possible. Note that not all options are valid within a 
configuration directory. You'll need to work out the settings you need 
to disable what you can. I expect that you can achieve what you're 
looking to do. If not, let us know where you run into a problem.

To be honest, I can't think of a reason why you wouldn't want to run 
spamdyke. Sounds like a PHB sort of situation to me. ;)

Are you asking to view which users access the page? First place I would
check would be the apache logs. Second, I think it will be logged as the

Hello list I have an Issue.

Example:

I need to send a message from my account nriv...@borderless.com.mx to email
or distribution list, exam...@borderless.com.mx and this email or list
resend the message to an external email, example u...@hotmail.com but I need
to the u...@hotmail.com view the message send from exam...@borderless.com.mx
and not from nriv...@borderless.com.mx. It is possible to do this with qmail
?

Hello List I Have 1 qmail server with 12 virtual domains, what is the best
configuration for concurrencyincoming and concurrencyremote .

 

In a few days the server is slow in send mails, and I need to delete
messages from queue.

 

What can I do to tunning my system.

The send log would be pertinent.
Also, are there messages in the queue?
# qmHandle -l

Still sounds like a problem with the queue. Can you run queue_repair.py? 
(it's part of the qmailtoaster-plus package)

Would need to see some log files. If the whole system is freezing, this
would leave me to believe you have a hardware problem, especially since it
worked fine in the past and only recently started having issues.

yes this is possible by using databytes file under
/var/qmail/control/databytes

Whenever you wish. When I put a new version online, I usually do not put 
it in the current.txt file for 24 hours (qtp-newmodel knows a new 
package is released by looking at this file). This way it gives me (and 
a couple others out there) time to manually run an update on their 
systems and see if there are any bugs that did not show up when I tested 
on my development machine.
Updates in a lab and updates in the wild differ, so I put that "safety 
net" in there.

ClamAV 0.95.3 was released on 10-28-2009 by the clamav.net team and I 
have updated the package on the main site.
I installed and tested this package under CentOS 5 and did not have any 
issues to note. After updating, I needed to stop qmail and the start it 
again, but that was all.

Stop qmail
Remove lock file(s) /home/vpopmail/.spamassassin/bayes_lock*
Start qmail

If you have auto_expire turned on (bayes_auto_expire 1) in 
/etc/mail/spamassassin/local.cf turn it off (bayes_auto_expire 0), and 
set up a cron job to expire bayes:
#!/bin/sh
sa-learn -u vpopmail --force-expire
chown vpopmail:vchkpw /home/vpopmail/.spamassassin/bayes_toks

Maxwell is correct, you need to set your reverse DNS.

Is your clamav-toaster package up to date? Some older versions would do 
this.

Nothing to be too concerned about. Those are not real temps, just 
'normalized' values. That is possibly even a drop in temperature. :) 
Western Digital drives I'm guessing.

best bet is to go to webmin list/site for help.  I installed webmin as well
and have had no issues.  

 

I am sure you have this covered, but just in case some basics are:

 

are you trying to access it from the server itself?  if so, you should use
its ip or localhost, ala https://localhost:1 or https://1.2.3.4:1 .

 

if over the internet you must use the servers ip address or FQDN, and any
routers/firewalls must allow that port through.  if the server is running a
firewall (like ipchains) it also must allow that port to the ip address or
localhost (whichever you are using).

 

hope this helps or gets you pointed in the right direction.

Select your Mail(Folder); Then click: Edit->Purge Deleted Messages
Unfortunately you have to do that for all your folders, but You can add a
button for that in your toolbar; There are some scripts available which

That is how Outlook handles deletion in IMAP. I do not know if there is a
workaround for this in Outlook. Other clients do not have the same issue
(there are LOTS of web pages complaining about IMAP support in Outlook)

Please start a new message when posting a new message to the list. 
Hitting reply and changing the subject causes your message to be listed 
under an unrelated thread when messages are viewed by thread.

In reply to your question, there is a spambox option that can be enabled 
at compile time. You can use qtp-newmodel to rebuild your package with 
this option, as specified at 
http://qtp.qmailtoaster.com/trac/wiki/qtp-newmodel#Tailoring
There is much more about it in the list archives, and probably the wiki 
as well.

domains running in my server and I want to move the configuration to 1 of
this domains cannot be checked by Spamdyke, is this possible?

I have released a new version of QControl. version 1.1-1.1.0.
I have not ported the code over to the PE edition yet, but I will get to 
that this week. Here are the changes made to the new version:

Added listdomaind command to qcontrol
Fixed ability to delete alias domains without having to delete parent 
domain
Fixed output of the view_logs.php file so email addresses are displayed 
correctly
Added ability to grant a user qmailadmin rights in the add user and edit 
user pages
Added ability to adjust SPF behavior level to QControl
Added ability to edit smtproutes to QControl
Added ability to reload qmail to qcontrol
Changed some pages to emphasize warnings displayed
Fixed issue with 0 (disabled) and -1 (unlimited) not being recognized in 
the edit domain page
Added 0 (disabled) and -1 (unlimited) functionality to the add a domain 
page
Added menu link to display mailmrtg MTA stats to QControl
Added menu link to display isoqlog per domain stats to QControl
Updated man pages
Changed main page to make suggestion/bug reporting more accessible

The PE edition will have a new version with the same updates later this 
week.

Not an issue there, but it wouldn't take long if it's been run recently.

I'm guessing that your problem was probably a specific email message 
tying up spamdyke, and changing the spamdyke timeout should fix it.

And I create and autoexpire.sh in /etc/cron/hourly

When I put autoxpire.sh in /etc/cron.hourly that's all or I have to do

I would use
bayes_auto_expire 0
and install the script below in /etc/cron.daily/. That will keep the 
auto expire feature from being run during an smtp session and causing a 
timeout problem.

FWIW, from the spamassassin documentation:
bayes_auto_expire is used to specify whether or not SpamAssassin ought 
to opportunistically attempt to expire the Bayes database. The default 
is 1 (yes).

I seem to be having issues with my max recipients.

Now i just want to confirm... to increase this, I just need to edit  
the /etc/tcprules.d/tcp.smtp file correct?

Or do I also need to change this in any other location?

The funny thing was that my settings were at 50 in the tcp.smtp, but I  
would get chkuser violation bounces when they were sending to say  
30-40 people. And then once the first error came, then they would at  
times get the same bounces when sending to a single user as well.

Does it remember the first violation for a time, and restrict  
subsequent email as well for a time, and if so, for how long?

Jake I look that the log file say you need to install ncurses-devel, I run
yum install ncurses-devel and the ncurses installed.
I run one more time qtp-newmodel and the process install works great.

Look at the end of the log file it's telling you to look at and it will 
explain why it failed. There is not enough information in what you sent 
for us to determine what the failure is.

You'll need to relax your spf setting to receive this one. Whitelisting 
only applies to spamdyke rules (ttbomk). spf rejections are not passed 
by whitelist.

What value is in your /var/qmail/control/spfbehavior file?

Who is websitewelcome? Is that your server, or someone else's?
Is the user getting duplicates on received mail, or sent mail, or both?
We need some more information - this scenario is unclear to me as to who 
is having the issue and who is who.

The time stamp on an email typically comes from the sending client 
computer, not the server. Check your client's settings, the locale in 
particular.

Have you checked your timezone?  Being off exactly hours not minutes is
usually timezone related.  

Also, please turn off your return receipts.  On mail lists it's considered
rude and generates a lot of un-needed traffic.

Is the time on your server correct?
Was the time set into the future at some point?
If the time is correct now, I'm guessing that if you 'touch' each log 
file, that will correct the file time and the messages will cease.

See if it needs upgrading first:
rpm -qa | grep clamav
Then check the web site (qmailtoaster.com) to see if you have the latest
version or not. If you do not, download the latest version, stop qmail
(qmailctl stop), remove the old clamav package (rpm -e clamav-toaster)
rebuild the new version like you did the last one, and then install it.
Or you can use the qtp-newmodel script included with the Qmailtoaster-Plus
package (qtp.qmailtoaster.com) that will take care of all of that for you,
including checking to see if you need to upgrade.

Usually caused when the connection is terminated abnormally or the system is
in heavy use. The old clamav package used to cause this issue when it used
100% of the CPU time.
Look in your logs and see if there's anything in there. You have to give us
more clues, info, logs, etc. that what you have for us to even begin to
guess what the issue may be. It's like saying "my car is broke. what's
wrong?"
Also please turn off read-receipts on mailing lists. It's considered rude to
use them in a mailing list.

It's been converted to a MSDOS format file, you need to convert it back 
to a Unix type file.
dos2unix qtp-backup

Or download the file onto the Linux machine without opening/saving it on 
the Windows machine.

They changed the method they use to distribute the definitions, so the old
script does not work. I have not written a replacement yet.

Run qtp-newmodel from the command line to upgrade.
If you're just coming from the last version to the newest, be aware that the
newest version only adds support for Fedora 9, Fedora 10, and Suse 11.1. It
adds no other functionality or changes over the last set of packages.
