I read that when you go to the applet-installer then you the the Weahter-Applet there. When you click it you see "current (0.4)" or "install (0.4)" which sounds as if you successfully installed the applet already. Good ! As this is a screensafer now the last step is to activate it as a screensafer. Go to Settings->Display->Screensafer (um - I'm not at home, but I think that was the path) and most likely choose the Not-Playing-Screensafer. There you will find the Weather-Screensafer and can activate it. Not just wait a moment and you should see some Weather. As you most likely don't want to see the weather from Berlin, you can also configure your locations. This is also possible under Settings->Display-Screensafer. Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] Radio on Sale
I picked one up for $149 last night at the "Members Only Event" at my local Best Buy, which is the obvious marketing ploy you think it is. No abnormal sales or promotions that I could discern. But what really irked me was that Best Buy has buried the Squeezebox line. After searching the audio department, I finally broke down and asked an audio sales clerk where the Squeezebox stuff was. "It's in computers" was the response. Odd. Also wrong. The Slingbox line was in computers. Squeezebox was actually hidden in the far back corner of audio, with a shabby falling-apart display (only took my 20 minutes to find.) Meanwhile the ugly Sony "whole house music system" was promoted front and center. Very discouraging to see a superior product line like Squeezebox given such poor placement. Makes me wonder if the Logitech - Best Buy relationship is strained. Or maybe Sony is putting up big $ to be prominently featured. Either way it's sad. Incidentally, the Radio rocks. Your server has to be powered up for the Radio to find it and confirm it is the place you want to be attached. Hello to all, I just ordered a Squeezebox "classic" (not yet received...), and I am afraid now as I understand that mms radios are not supported by this equipment ! In fact, I am French, and most of French popular radios (that I want to listen in another European country) are streamed using mms protocol... Some of them have recently switched from http to mms, and I suppose they are not going to change again in the coming period ! Is there a solution for me, or shall I return my Squeezebox back to the supplier and consider buying a competitor product supporting mms radios ? Thank you for your help and advices. Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] 2 questions about album art
Thanks Sinatra. My weekend has been immensely frustrating and satisfying in equal measures! I have now sorted my folder structure out, have art work for the majority of albums (still a work in progress) and no rogue artwork appearing on random songs (like the Wedding Singer). Whilst this was a tough and long job, it was well worth it and MP3Tag absolutely made this task loads easier - anyone else reading this and considering sorting your music out, think the whole process through first otherwise you'll end up giving yourself a headache like I have! The only strange thing is that when you look at the My Music folder in thumbnail view when you're in My Documents, the wedding singer is still the main image! I don't mind as now all my songs are in their respective artist folders, but it's still strange and doesn't seem to be a way to change it. I can live with it though. -- jamesg1979 jamesg1979's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=16824 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=71290 ___ Radio mailing list Radio@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio
Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] Display next alarm
I like this idea ! My wife turns the alarm off every weekend, because she just sees the 'alarm on' icon, and doesn't want to look into every alarm if it is disabled for the weekend. Showing day+time of the next alarm would solve this. -- bluegaspode 1x SB-Controller+Receiver (Duet), 1xSB-Boom. 1xSB-Radio Server (7.4.1) running on Linkstation NAS (LS-CHL) (with Debian Lenny instead of Stock-Firmware) bluegaspode's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=31651 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=71449 ___ Radio mailing list Radio@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio
