Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] Can IR receiver be disabled?
>But maybe it only works this way because the RC is low on battery, IDK. >I got it with my second hand Boom. > Quite possibly. I have a Touch and Boom in opposite corners in a medium sized room (Touch acting as a controller for the Boom). I found that no matter where I pointed an IR Remote within the room, the signal was received by both players. I had to disable one player from interpretting IR Remote commands, otherwise control was impossible. As the Touch is on a desk, within arms reach, there was no need for IR Remote control, so I disabled this. I too am suprised there is no built-in option to control IR Remote useage, like Classic player settings, seeing that it was simple to patch. Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] Previewing alarm sounds
Always required. There are no "built in" alarm sounds other than the default "rock guitar" sound that plays when it can't connect with your chosen sound. -- BLatSD BLatSD's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=38631 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=81306 ___ Radio mailing list Radio@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio
Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] Snooze not working correctly on Radio
I am having the same issue with the snooze only working for one minute. I just purchased the radio last week after having a Boom for four trouble free months. I was amazed at how apathetic the customer service agent was when I told him of the problem. The one I talked to yesterday did not mention it was a "known issue." The agent today said it was a "known issue" and that if I wanted to continue to use it as an alarm, I should send it back to the store I received it from. I asked if they could send me a new one, but he just said a new one may or may not have the same problem. "Some of them work and some of them don't." I guess I'm just really surprised at how they really don't care to keep me as a customer. More importantly, how difficult can it be to make an alarm function properly? I thought we perfected that many years ago. -- beelove beelove's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=39942 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=81128 ___ Radio mailing list Radio@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio

If you use the 'Sounds and Effects' app would the alarm still play even if the connection to mysqueezebox.com was unavailable at that time? You can also add the "Sounds and Effects" app to your radio from MySqueezebox.com and play/preview them as you would any other content. -- BLatSD BLatSD's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=38631 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=81306 ___ Radio mailing list Radio@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio
Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] Previewing alarm sounds
Thanks bluegaspode! You must actually set an alarm in order to preview it. This does make sense and does enable you to preview them quickly. The procedure: Settings > Alarm Clock > Add Alarm At this point you must actually set an alarm time, which we can later cancel by 'remove alarm'. Once the alarm time is set, the screen will return to Alarm 1: 07:00 (at least this was the default choice which I accepted. Now do: Alarm 1: 07:00 > Alarm Sound > Musical Sounds > Barn Fire Now push the play button to the right of the main knob. After previewing this sound you can push the 'back' button to the left of the main knob twice to get back to the list of Musical Sounds to make another selection followed by the play key to hear it. Pushing the 'back' button three times instead returns you to the list of all available alarm sounds so you can continue previewing the possibilities. The ready made sounds, 'Musical Sounds', etc would likely be more reliable than picking a 'radio station' which might be off line just when you need it. -- Ron Stordahl Ron Stordahl's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=39204 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=81306 ___ Radio mailing list Radio@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio

[SlimDevices: Radio] Previewing alarm sounds
Is there a way to preview the many alarm sounds offered on mysqueezebox.com? These are named: Musical Sounds -> Barn Fire Sound Effects -> Wind Chime Flourish Here must be 50+ sounds available. this morning I snoozed my alarm 3 times...and all 3 times I got the alarm fading back in a minute later. I think before it was only on the first snooze, but its possible I was only snoozing it once before turning it off later. I'd like to also note that this is not just a Radio or Snooze issue. Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] Snooze not working correctly on Radio
I had originally posted that I was having an issue with selecting "Alarm Off" and having the alarm turn back on after one minute. I know this thread is about the "Snooze" feature, but is the consensus that these two bugs are related? I see a lot of posts about Snooze, but not so many about Alarm Off. I would just like to know as I am approaching the return/exchange policy if I need to try to get another one. Thanks. Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] Can IR receiver be disabled?
I suppose you've noticed that there's now step by step instructions for enabling it via Erland's Patch Installer. Did these work fine for you? Myself, I'm contemplating switching the IR receptor on again on my Radio. It shares the bedroom with a Boom; they're on each side of the double bed. If I point the RC straigt up at the roof, both units receive the signal. If I point it at one of the units, the other unit doesn't react. Enabling IR on both units will enable me to activate snooze on the Radio alarm when the madam refuses to hear it and I want 10 extra minutes of sleep. But maybe it only works this way because the RC is low on battery, IDK. I got it with my second hand Boom. -- Soulkeeper -that is not dead which can eternal lie. and with strange aeons even death may die.- duet + boom + radio (+touch on the way) / wrt160n/dd-wrt / sbs 7.5.1/win7 Soulkeeper's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=35297 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=69634 ___ Radio mailing list Radio@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio
